    I posted this question on SuperUser but it's hardly getting any views, so I thought I'd ask here as well. In bash, to display the name of the current program in the GNU Screen hardstatus line takes only two configuration lines. First, tell screen what the end of your prompt normally looks like, and supply a default title for a window when you are sitting at in the shell: shelltitle "$ |bash" Next, place this escape sequence in the PS1 variable, before the characters that normally terminate the prompt '$ ' in this case: \033k\033\\\ This technique works, to a point. The hardstatus window title is updated to the name of the currently running program, and then switches back to the default title shortly after execution is finished. One major problem, however, is that this escape string is not escaped itself, causing line-wrapping problems with commands longer than the initial line. This was annoying, so I set out looking for a solution. Turns out, simply escaping the previous escape sequence corrects line wrapping: [\033k]\[\033\\\] Great! My hardstatus window title still updates to the name of the currently running program, and now my longer commands wrap to the second line correctly. However, with this new escape sequence in my PS1, screen updates the window title to the actual command I am typing, not simply the name of the current program once it is executed. I am wondering, has anyone gotten this working correctly - i.e. line wrapping and proper updating of the hardstatus window title? Thanks!

    I've tried disabling "Save AutoRecover information" option, but to no avail. The window "Excel has recovered the following files" still pops up at the start. Any other ideas? UPD Auto-recover window is shown each start after I terminate Excel during my debug session. All file entries Excel shows in the auto-recover window are dated by year 1601. I checked Excel auto-recover folder, and there is no any real file there.

    First you need to implement the simple bpel process like this : In my current project, I inherited a lot of OSB components that have been developed by (former) team members, but they all lack unit tests. This is a situation I really dislike, since this makes it much harder to refactor or bug-fix the existing code base. So, for all newly created components (and components I have to bug-fix) I strive to add unit tests. Of course, the unit tests will be created using my favourite testing tool: soapUI ! Unit of test The unit test should be created for the service composition, which in OSB terms should be the proxy service combination with its business service. Now, since you do not want to rely on any other services, you should provide mock services for all services invoked from your Component-Under-Test. In a previous article, I wrote about mocking your services in soapUI. While this approach would also be valid here, creating a mock service (and certainly deploying it on a separate WebServer) does violate one of the core principles of unit testing: to make your unit tests as self-contained as possible, i.e. not depending on any external components. In this article, I will show you how to achieve this by simply providing a mock response inside your unit test. Scenario The scenario I implement for testing is a simple currency converter; the external request consists of a from and a to currency, and an amount (in currency from). The service will perform an exchange rate lookup using the WebServiceX CurrencyConverter and return a response to the caller consisting of both the source and target currencies and amounts.     I'm trying to open a new MacVim window with Applescript, and have found partial success with this: do shell script "cd \"~/code/application\"; ~/bin/mvim > /dev/null 2>&1" This works fine, and opens a new MacVim window with it's working directory set to ~/code/application. BUT it always opens on the screen of my laptop, not on the external monitor with the currently active space where I am working. Is there a way to get MacVim to open in the current space? Edit: same problem with opening a finder window: tell application "Finder" to make new Finder window

    Can I open a browser window in Internet Explorer for a specific website without having any tabs, toolbars, bookmarks, etc.? Just the window border and the site, that's it. I want something like Chrome's "App Mode", but for Internet Explorer. Is there a command-line switch for Internet Explorer or something similar that will open a specific site without any browser stuff in the window? Otherwise, is there any small program I can use that would accomplish the same thing? (Like something that just does nothing but open a window with an Internet Explorer renderer in it.)     I'm trying to use Ditto on the Ditto documentation. If I were to copy the table of contents, then paste it (without Ditto) to the word processor, I get http://i.imgur.com/V1GU3.png, and the formatting is maintained. As as a result of the copy operation, the table of contents also goes into the Saved Items List (= History List = Lists the Clips saved from the Clipboard) in Ditto’s Main Window: I open a blank document to paste from Ditto instead of the default clipboard, and press either Ctrl-`, the default Ditto window activation Global Hot Key, or click the tray icon. From this point, I can do 3 things to close the Ditto window, and place the item on the clipboard (the default clipboard?). Select the item, and press Enter Put the cursor on the item, and double-click Select the item, and press Ctrl-c 1) and 2) send a right-click where the cursor is, after the Ditto window closes (presumably to have the paste option ready to access?): Ctrl-c just closes the Ditto window. Whichever method is used, the contents are pasted in what I believe is plain text: http://i.imgur.com/mQAZH.png How do I keep the formatting that the default clipboard keeps? Thanks.

  • X11 not sending windows to remote computer matlab

    I am trying to set up my home desktop, running OS X Mountain Lion, to basically do a bunch of grunt work for me remotely. I have set up ssh, and am able to remotely control the computer fine, but the issue comes in when I try to run X11 apps, like MATLAB, remotely and get windows to pop up. Every time I try to bring up a new window it either opens that window on the remote computer (not the one I am using to control it), or it tells me it can't find a display. here is how I am setting up my ssh assume my matlab alias is set up properly, which it is. ssh -X [email protected] matlab -nodesktop figure; This will open the window on the computer I am SSHing into, and not on the remote one. Basically I want that window to open on the computer I am remoting from. I changed my SSH X11Forwarding and stuff to be yes in ssh_config and sshd_config. Any other suggestions?

  • Is there an intuitive way to reopen Empathy's contact list?

    Since a short while I'm using Ubuntu Oneiric Ocelot (11.10) with gnome-shell (Gnome 3) and I'm trying to get accustomed to the default Empathy Instant Messaging client. When I hit the close button of Empathy's contact list the window disappears as expected. When I now start Empathy over the Gnome Activities menu the contact list reappears. That's not as easy as clicking a system tray icon back in Psi on Gnome 2 but it works for now. But when I start a conversation first and have an open conversation window, then close the contact list, and try to regain access to it by using Gnome Activities, I only get the conversation window into focus and no contact list appears. I only seem to be able to get the contact list back if I close the conversation window (and thereby signal the conversations to be over) and then use Gnome Activities again to get my contact list back. That's horrible. Is this intended? Is there something I'm missing?
