  • Recycle a project name?

    I want to start an open source project, but my favourite project name was already used for a framework with the same goal. This project was never popular, had only two active days with commits at Google Code and is dead since four years. In other words: the project is irrelevant but the name is in use at Google Code and ohloh (the same dead project). The .org domain would be available. Would it be ok to reuse this project name?

  • Unable to find CFNetwork in XCode

    Hello, I am trying to use CFNetwork in my app so I tried adding CFNetwork.framework from the Edit Target dialog in XCode. The interesting thing is that CFNetwork is not visible in the dialog box at all. Am I missing anything? Do I have to add/install CFNetwork in some other way? Screenshot - Thanks in advance.

    Hi, is there any way how to easy subclass a Mapped class in lift framework? class One extends LongKeyedMapper[One] with IdPK{ object sharedField extend MappedString(this) } class Two extends One[*]{ ... } *and now I can't hint the compiler because One is not defined generic. So this doesn't work, what is the right way?

    I have 2 databases with a 2 tables with HierachyID fields. For one database I can get a dal cs file, for the other database I cannot get a dal cs file ? HBus is a database I can get the dal cs for, ... SqlMetal /server:.\SQLSERVER2008 /database:HBus /code:HBusDC.cs /views /functions /sprocs /namespace:HBusDC /context:HBusDataContext This kicks me out a file, ... which works, but excludes the HierarchyID field for the table and includes all other fields for that table. This is OK I do not mind.   • Why am I getting a TypeLoadException when defining a custom profile?

    I'm writing a .NET command-line application that will migrate users from an existing database into aspnetdb. To simplify the user-specific settings, I'm using the profile class that Joel Spolsky wrote about here. It works great in the ASP.NET MVC website, but for some reason it's throwing a TypeLoadException when being used from this new application. I'm not sure why the framework is trying to load the new class from System.Web.

    Say I have this list List<string> sampleList = new List<string> { "C:\\Folder1", "D:\\Folder2", "C:\\Folder1\\Folder3", "C:\\Folder111\\Folder4" }; I'd like to remove the paths that are contained in other folders, for example we have C:\Folder1 and C:\Folder1\Folder3 the second entry should go away because C:\Folder1 contains C:\Folder1\Folder3 is there something that does that in the .net framework or do i have to write the algo myself?

    I'm having trouble finding a list of the changes and bug fixes that have been made in the .Net framework for .Net 4.0. They're not easy to find, but surely they exist somewhere? Specifically I want to find out what changes and updates have been made for System.Net.HttpWebRequest and System.Net.CookieContainer, as both are quite bugridden in 3.5 and I want to evaluate whether I should write my code for .Net 4.0 or if I should create some custom classes to work around their issues.

    Hey there, I just wanted to build my App for submitting it to the AppStore - it includes the widely used three20 framework. As the Debug Versions on the Dev-Devices worked great, i'm having trouble compiling the project for distribution. XCode says: No architectures to compile for (ONLY_ACTIVE_ARCH=YES, active arch=armv6, VALID_ARCHS=i386). Any idea what's happening there? I've tried to google it, but i haven't found a solution yet. I want to use mx.controls.Button class in it, so I did the following : Added '-locale=en_US -source-path=locale/{locale}' to the Actionscript compiler arguments Added 'framework.swc' to the library path But now I get this error: unable to open 'locale/en_US' I looked up and I do have the following directory inside my Flex Builder 3 installation: ./sdks/3.0.0/frameworks/locale/en_US How to fix it?
