• Trace directory not defined error in MS Dynamics CRM 4.0

  I'm getting the following event log entry when I turn on tracing in CRM using the Crm Diagnostics Tool. Any ideas why it's not picking up the correct directory to place the files? CrmTrace encountered a failure creating or opening the file named C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics CRM\Trace\CRM-SERVER-CrmAsyncService-bin-20091106-1.log. • Android ActiveSync/Outlook Error

  Getting the following error when attempt to press "Refresh" inside the Mail app for an exchange server account. Using an Android 2.1 device (Evo). "Exchange email synchronization is disabled". I can send outbound messages, but new emails are not coming in. Anyone know what would cause this error? Thanks, Kyle

• XRDP: window manager not starting

  I have setup my Ubuntu server so that I can connect and login to XRDP from Windows remote desktop. My problem is that after logging in, no window-manager is started. It only displays a single gnome-terminal with no border and gray meshed background. It seems that /usr/sbin/xrdp-sesman itself is running (from observation of ps and /var/run/xrdp/xrdp-sesman.pid). I put debugging line like touch /home/myname/aaaaa into ~/startwm.sh or /etc/xrdp/startwm.sh, but the file aaaaa did not generated after logging in, so these scripts have not been executed. (Both of them have chmod +x permission.) Am I missing some configuration file, or is there any way of further inspection? Any help is appreciated. Thanks. • Is there a way to route all traffic from Android through a proxy/tunnel to my Tomato router?

  I'd like to be able to connect my Android phone to public Wi-Fi points with unencrypted connections, but People can see what I'm doing by intercepting my radio transmissions People who own the access point can see what I'm doing. There are tools like WeFi and probably others to automatically connect to access points, but I don't trust random APs. I'd like all my traffic to go through an encrypted tunnel to my home router, and from there out to the Internet. I've done such tunnels from other computers with SSH/SOCKS and PPTP before. Is there any way to do this with Android? I've asked the same question on Force Close, so I'll change this question to be about both sides of the tunnel. More specifically: My phone now has CyanogenMod 4.2.3 My router currently has Tomato Version 1.25 I'm willing to change the router firmware, but I was having issues with DD-WRT disconnecting, which is why I'm using Tomato. Some possible solutions: SSH with dynamic SOCKS proxy: Android supposedly supports this through ConnectBot, but I don't know how to get it to route all traffic. Tomato supports this natively. I've been using this with MyEntunnel for my web browsing at work. Requires setting up each app to go through the proxy, though. PPTP: Android supports this natively. Tomato does not support this, unless you get the jyavenard mod and compile it? I previously used PPTP for web browsing at work and in China because it's native in Windows and DD-WRT. After a while I started having problems with it, then I started having problems with DD-WRT, so I switched to the SSH tunnel instead. Also it supposedly has security flaws, but I don't understand how big of a problem it is. IPSec L2TP: Android (phone) and Windows (work/China) both support this natively I don't know of a router that does. I could run it on my computer using openswan, but then there are two points of failure. OpenVPN: CyanogenMod apparently includes this, and now has an entry to create a new OpenVPN in the normal VPN interface, but I have no idea how to configure it. TunnelDroid apparently handles some of this. Future versions will have native support in the VPN settings? Tomato does not support this, but there are mods that do? I don't know how to configure this, either. TomatoVPN roadkill mod SgtPepperKSU mod Thor mod I could also run a VPN server on my desktop, I guess, though that's less reliable and presumably slower than running it in the router itself. I could change the router firmware, but I'm wary of more fundamental things breaking. Tomato has been problem-free for the regular stuff. • Core i5 Turboboost/C states Freezing computer

  I'm not sure which, but I just had a heck of a time getting my computer to boot up and not freeze. It would run until it finished booting windows, then everything would freeze. This happened until I turned off turboboost and all the c states on the processor. What could be causing this? Is the processor going bad?

  We recently got the Blackberry Express Server for our small home business and linked it in with our Exchange 2010 server. All is well except for calendar syncing. From what I can tell I require the ExchangeCdo patch. Except when I go to install it, it errors saying I require Outlook 2007. I have Outlook 2010 on the server and have no real way of getting 2007 on instead. Any suggestions?

Has anyone seen the AMD A10 APU line used for baremetal hosting? AMD A10 APU 6800K 8GB DDR3 non ECC RAM 350GB HDD old spin drive (Sata I?III? unknown) I want to get started but afraid I'll wipe my current linux instance if it goes bad.

• SQL Server 08 Express error when connecting to localhost - "Timeout expired". Works with ::1 or 127

  EDIT New info: Navigating to localhost:1434 in Chrome gives me an "ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE", while other ports give me an "Oops! This link appears to be broken". So it seems to binding ok there? So here's my setup so far: I've configured Windows Firewall to allow TCP on 1433 and UDP on 1434. I've set up SQL Server to use any IP on Port 1433 (using the SQL Server Configuration Manager). My hosts file contains the default entries ("127.0.0.1 localhost" and "::1 localhost"). I sometimes have a debug session of Visual Web Developer running a webserver, but it's on a specific port (localhost:5XXXX). What I've tried: I CAN ping localhost in a cmd prompt. I CAN connect to the database through SSMS if I specify 127.0.0.1 or ::1 as the server name. I CAN'T connect to the database through SSMS (or ADO.NET) if I specify localhost as the server name. I've tried both Windows and SQL Authentication The error I get is the standard Can't connect to localhost. Additional Information -- Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding. (Microsoft Sql Server) Other considerations: Stopping the Visual Web Developer web server from the taskbar doesn't affect the sql problem. The SQL error log says that it's listening on some piped name url at start up (I don't see how this would affect localhost but not 127.0.0.1 though). I could probably just use 127.0.0.1 everywhere, but it scares me that localhost isn't working and I'd like to figure out why. I'm not much of a networking or sql server guy so I'm stuck. If you want me to try anything to help diagnose just put it in a comment and I'll give it a go. Anytime i try to connect to an oracle database using OCI8. I'm not sure that oci8 is install properly. Can someone provide steps for installation of OCI8 using Mamp Pro?

  Using an administrator privileged account I have installed cygwin sshd following instructions here successfully on Windows XP, Vista, but on Windows 7, after installation without errors when I try to start the service ... net start sshd The CYGWIN sshd service is starting. The CYGWIN sshd service could not be started. The service did not report an error. More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 3534. Has anyone seen this error, got any ideas on what might be wrong?

• Bugmenot (registration bypasser) alternative that doesn't suck?

  I used to love Bugmenot...but then they started blocking more and more sites. Now I'd say a good 75% of the time I try to find logins on bugmenot, the site is blocked. Is there a service like bugmenot that doesn't block sites? EDIT: For example, all of these sites require registration to download files, and all of them are blocked from BugMeNot. To be clear, this problem is because BugMeNot stops users from adding logins for them, not because of the individual sites themselves: dcemu.co.uk, ubuntuforums.org, club.cdfreaks.com

• Perfmon - Redirector current command 0 result

  I'd like to monitor how many SMB connections there are at any given time for my 2008R2 file server, but when I add Redirector/Current Commands in perfmon, I get 0 results. This KB from Microsoft isn't exactly helpful either: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2523382 It mearly confirms there is an issue, but doesn't provide a work around. How would I go about getting the current number of SMB connections? Thanks for your help in advance.

• OpenSwan IPsec connection drops after 30 seconds

  I'm trying to connection from my Linux Mint 16 box to a CloudStack server. Building up the connection works (pings work across the tunnel). However 30 seconds later the IPsec tunnel gets terminated out of the blue. What could cause this consistent behaviour and how to fix it? The tunnel is setup using OpenSwan (U2.6.38/K(no kernel code presently loaded)) with the L2TP IPsec VPN manager from Werner Jaeger 1.0.9. The client is behind a NAT'ed router and the server is on public IP (CloudStack 4.2) Running ipsec verify complains about IPsec support in kernel.   I've recently installed Microsoft Expression Blend 3. I've started the program but I now get this message Microsoft Expression Blend 3 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available Do I have to reinstall the whole program again?   I have installed Office 2010 Professional Plus Beta trial (x64 version) from MSFT site. Every thing worked fine initially. But after I rebooted machine (Win7 x64), and started Outlook 2010, i see an error dialog that I am not in a "corporate network" and the product could not be activated. I am not in a corporate network. I would like to use Office 2010 on my home network. How do I get around the Product Activation issue?

• Automate ripping TV show DVDs

  RipIt & Handbrake do a really good job of ripping and compressing. For normal "single main feature" DVDs I have a good workflow, and for the most part handbrake does a good job of figuring out what the main title is. The process for ripping a DVD that has multiple episodes of something kinda sucks. Has anyone made any progress on automating (or at least simplifying) the process of getting show-s01e01.avi from a DVD?
