  • Magento set Store Id - customer login - but still logged out

    I've got an overridden AccountController in which i set the current store to an other as currently running (example: Customer is in website default and store default, going to login page, click login, my loginPostAction sets the store to id "2" (on website 2) and then executes the parent code loginPostAction. The store is set, of course, but after the login and the redirect to home, the customer is not logged in anymore... Customer-sendlogindata-myaccountcontroller sets store-original account controller logs in without errors (cause $session customer is set)-redirect to home-customer is not logged in anymore... i set the store with Mage::app()-setCurrentStore($id); . And in index.php i've got an extra where the store is set to the right id (2) too and this works... but the customer is not logged in anymore.. is that an issue with the session cause different websites ? I don't want to globally share customer.. each website has his own customers, but every customer has to be able to login on default store.   • Phonegap web view thinks device screen taller than it is - results in offscreen tabbar

    I have a jQTouch application loaded via server, so all I need to do is display the webpage full screen in PhoneGap for a faux-Native app. Unfortunatley each solution I've tried in PhoneGap has an issue: it thinks the screen size is taller than it is. This resuls in the tabbar that is pinned to the bottom being permantly offscreen and there fore unusable. You should be able to recreate this with my code below and going to the iTabbar online demo. Any thoughts on how to correct this issue? For background, going to the app page in iOS safari works fine, as well as saving the page to the home screen. In both cases the webview stops at the bottom of the screen and the tabbar is therefore viewable. Also, I'm using build.phonegap.com to compile (I'm not compiling locally) I've tried two methods: load the childBrowser plugin and call up the page (with navbar hidden via options) set the following config.xml parameter to prevent phonegap from switching to Safari, and then just load the link (preferable as it's cleaner in my mind.     Hi, I have a small issue with jQuery on Safari (Mac OSX 10.6) - the page loads fine under Firefox (Mac) and Internet Explorer (Win) but has to be refreshed to work properly in Safari... http://7souls.co.uk/store/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=29788 If you hover over the image it is meant to show a magnified version to the right hand side - which works on the first page load on all browsers except Safari on the Mac. You have to refresh the page to get it to work under safari. Any Ideas, MM

    I've got a very simple Action on my Controller that's attempting to return my XmlSiteMap as a JsonResult: public ActionResult Index() { var nodes = SiteMap.Provider.RootNode; return new JsonResult() { Data = nodes, JsonRequestBehavior = JsonRequestBehavior.AllowGet }; } However, when I call the Action, an InvalidOperationException is thrown: "A circular reference was detected while serializing an object of type 'System.Web.SiteMapNode'." Is there a way to Json serialize a SiteMap, or indeed any object that has children of the same type?

    I'm writing a system where users can generate/run queries on demand based on the values of 4 dropdown lists. The lists are dynamically generated based on a number of factors, but at this point, I'm having problems validating the input using codeigniter's built in validation classes. I can get the stuff to validate correctly, but for the number of errors I have, I get Unable to access an error message corresponding to your field name. as the error message for everything. I think my issue that I have the $rules and $fields stuff in the wrong place, but I've tried a few permutations and I just keep getting it wrong. I was hoping I could get some advice on the correct place to put things.

  • Scaling databases with cheap SSD hard drives

    Hey guys! I hope that many of you are working with high traffic database-driven websites, and chances are that your main scalability issues are in the database. I noticed a couple of things lately: Most large databases require a team of DBAs in order to scale. They constantly struggle with limitations of hard drives and end up with very expensive solutions (SANs or large RAIDs, frequent maintenance windows for defragging and repartitioning, etc.) The actual annual cost of maintaining such databases is in $100K-$1M range which is too steep for me :) Finally, we got several companies like Intel, Samsung, FusionIO, etc. that just started selling extremely fast yet affordable SSD hard drives based on SLC Flash technology. These drives are 100 times faster in random read/writes than the best spinning hard drives on the market (up to 50,000 random writes per second). Their seek time is pretty much zero, so the cost of random I/O is the same as sequential I/O, which is awesome for databases. These SSD drives cost around $10-$20 per gigabyte, and they are relatively small (64GB). So, there seems to be an opportunity to avoid the HUGE costs of scaling databases the traditional way by simply building a big enough RAID 5 array of SSD drives (which would cost only a few thousand dollars). Then we don't care if the database file is fragmented, and we can afford 100 times more disk writes per second without having to spread the database across 100 spindles. . Is anybody else interested in this? I've been testing a few SSD drives and can share my results. If anybody on this site has already solved their I/O bottleneck with SSDs, I would love to hear your war stories! PS. I know that there are plenty of expensive solutions out there that help with scalability, for example the time proven RAM-based SANs. I want to be clear that even $50K is too expensive for my project. I have to find a solution that costs no more than $10K and does not take much time to implement.

  • Office365 Exchange: Cannot open shared two calendars in Outlook

    The problem: Outlook won't open the calendars on another user's mailbox and and a room mailbox, even when users have permission. Note: This problem is affecting more than one account on more than one machine. So I have a room mailbox and a personal mailbox on Exchange, both with shared calendars. There is a security group called "Scheduling Users" that have editor rights on both of these calenders. The room mailbox was created using PowerShell, per the instructions posted online (http://help.outlook.com/140/ee441202.aspx). Sharing worked on both of these folders initially. Users can still access these folders using OWA. So on to the problem. When users try to open these calendars in Outlook they receive one of the following messages. The set of folders cannot be opened. Microsoft Exchange is not available. Either there are network problems or the Exchange server is down for maintenance. Cannot open this item. Cannot open the free/busy information. The attempt to log on to Microsoft Exchange has failed. What I have tried so far: Resetting the permissions on both of the mailboxes. I deleted the security group permissions on both mailboxes, applied the change, then waited a bit and gave the permissions back. Deleted the OST file of the shared calendar from the Outlook data directory That is all I have been able to find online. Any thoughts? I have been going back and forth with the Office365 support folks for a while and they seem stumped too.

First column is a combo-box of which Itemsource is set to Options ( defined above ) Second column is a simple textblock to display Name. Problem 1. I have defined a datatemplate for first column in which I have a combo box , I have set the Itemsource =**MyCollection** and SelectedItem = SelectedOption of the combo-box. User can perform following operations in the listview: Add ( Add the row in the listview ) Move Up ( Move row up in the listview ) Move Down ( Move down the item in the listview ) .Now when I add the row in the listview , the combo-box selected index is always comes to -1 (first column). However the combo box contains options One, Two and Three. Also, I have initialized the SelectedOption to contain the first item, i:e One. problem 2. . Let suppose, I have added a single row in a listview and I have selected Option "one" in the combo box manually. Now when I perform Move Up or Move Down operations the selected index of a combo box is again set to -1. In the Move Up or Move Down operation , I am calling MoveUp and MoveDown methods of the Observable collection. Probelm 3 How to serialize the entire collection in XML. Since I can't serialize the Dictionary and KeyValue Pair. I have to restore the state of the listview.
