  • MySQL hangs if connection comes from outside the LAN

    I have a MySQL Server operating just fine if I access him from his local LAN (192.168.100.0/24). If I try to access hin from another LAN (192.168.113.0/24 in this case) it hangs for a really long time before delivering the result. SHOW PROCESSLIST; shows this process in Sleep, State empty.   • Ruby string encoding problem

    I've looked at the other ruby/encoding related posts but haven't been able to figure out why the following is not working. Likely just because I'm dense, but here's the situation. Using Ruby 1.9 on windows. I have a set of CSV files that need some data appended to the end of each line. Whenever I run my script, the appended characters are gibberish. The input text appears to be IBM437 encoding, whereas my string I'm appending starts as US-ASCII. Nothing I've tried with respect to forcing encoding on the input strings or the append string seems to change the resultant output. I'm stumped.   • How to unit test configs

    We're working with some very large config files which contain lots of Unity and WCF configuration. When we open some of these configs in the SVC config editor or even try to open a web application using these configs, we recieve errors showing any typos or errors. E.g. a WCF binding is invalid or does not exist etc, or a configuration section does not exist, two endding tags, etc. Is there some way to "valid" a config through a unit test? So there's one less thing which could go wrong when the application is moved into a new environment.

    Hi, I Have a DataBase in my project With Table named 'ProcessData' and columns named 'Start_At' (Type: DateTime) and 'End_At' (Type: DateTime) . When I try to enter a new record into this table, it enter the data in the following format: 'YYYY/MM/DD HH:mm', when I actualy want it to be in that format: 'YYYY/MM/DD HH:mm:ss' (the secondes dosen't apper). Does anyone know why, and what should I do in order to fix this?   • How can I compile an autotools project with statically linked dependancies?

    There's an open source library I want to use. As I want to spread my software as binary package, I do not want the library to have dependancies on other libraries, so I need to link the dependancies statically. Now as the library is open source and there are no binaries provided, I compile it myself. The library uses autotools, and I didn't find any useful documentation on how to link dependancies statically. What I did try is to call the configure script with --enable-static, but this apparently only tells configure to compile a static version of the library - but what I need is a dynamic library that includes all the libraries it depends on. So, I need a way to either tell configure to link against dependancies statically, or a way to post-process the built library to include all dependancies. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Oh, and if it matters: I'm on 64bit Snow Leopard.

  • Is there a way to "freeze" a file in Git?

    I'm in a situation where I want to open source my project, however there's a single source file that I want to release a "clean" version of, but use a separate version locally. Does git have a feature where I can just commit a file once, and it stops looking for changes on that file from now on? I've tried adding the file to .gitignore, but after the first time when I do a git add -f and git commit on the file, and I proceed to edit it again, git status shows the file as changed. The ideal behavior would be for git to not show this file as changed from now on, even though I've edited it. I'd also be interested in how others have dealt with "scrubbing" their codebases of private code/data before pushing to an open source repo, especially on Git.

  • Access 2007: Dynamic SQL to be run when opening a report

    I'm trying to have some SQL execute when I open a report. This works fine when I try to match on a column that's an integer with an integer, but when I try to match on a "text" column, it keeps popping up a dialog asking for what you want to filter on. Here's a somple query: select person_phone_numbers.person_id from person_phone_numbers where phone_number = '444-444-4444' This is actually a sub-query I'm trying to use, but this is where the problem is. If I change it to this it works fine: select person_phone_numbers.person_id from person_phone_numbers where phone_id = 2 I put this in the OnOpen event and I'm assigning it to Me.RecordSource if that makes a difference. My goal here is to have a form accept query parameter(s) and have it open a report with the results. Any thoughts on why it wants to ask for a parameter vs. just running the query the way I have it?

    I have been working on a website for some months now. Every day, I open up the PHP scripts in the same manner, and every day they work just fine. Today, I go to open one up the same as I always do, except the page just comes up as the text file. All pages are the same, I have not changed most of them for many weeks now. WAMP is giving me no errors. I just installed the latest version, and it still won't work.     Hi, Experts: Can you please give some suggestions on sqlite using at xcode? Within my application, I use a sqlite DB to store all local data. Two methods can be used to retrieve those data during running time. 1, Load all the data into memory at initialization stage. (More memory used, less DB open/close operation needed) 2, Read corresponding records when necessary, free the occupied memory after using. (Good habit for memory using, but much DB open/close operations needs). I prefer to use method 2, but not sure whether too many DB opening/closing operations could affect app's efficiency. Or do you think I can 'upgrade' method 2 by opening DB when app launches and closing DB when app quits? Thanks for your suggestions very much!

    Hey all I'm looking to edit my app so that when a text within an xml file is selected, a new window opens. I've found various ways of making a new screen open via a class, but I need it done from a xml file.     I have associated my app with txt file. So user can select a file in File explorer app and select my app to open it. In OnCreate: Intent intent = getIntent(); String action = intent.getAction(); if (action != null && action.equals(Intent.ACTION_VIEW)) { txtFilePath = intent.getData().getPath(); } However, when user did not close my app, and he goes back to file explorer and open another file, OnCreate is not called. OnResusme is called instead.     do you seriously have to make your own content pipeline project for every single type of file you want to load? Microsoft just seem to be pretending that the iphone doesn't exist (even though they are now paying devs to port between them). I'm trying to port my game from the iphone to winmo7, and I already have a nice asset pipeline set up for exporting textures in the exact format we want (16 bit fmts ect) I just want to be able to open a file and read it, just like I would on any other platform. I have tried System.IO.File.OpenText("atextfile.txt"), but it says that function is "RESTRICTED!!!!" I have tried just adding the txt file to the content project, setting its properties to "content" and "copy always" and then trying to open it doing this.Content.Load("atextfile.txt"); with and without the extension, says it can't find the file.

    This same script worked in older server OS environments, and even on my desktop; and allows me to kick off a nightly process on my website's URL. It simply will not execute the URL in my Windows Server 2008 environment. It does not generate any errors, claiming task completion I can pull the same URL up just fine in the server's web browser I have the script running with "highest privileges" I even tried to create a batch file which executes it, so I can explicitly "Run as Administrator" and it still will not execute the URL (but will not generate any errors either).
