  I'm trying to use the vBulletin REST Mobile API to simply register. The sourced are installed on my local machine and according the documentation https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/content.php/393-User-Registration-Process-Mobile-API This procedure should not be so hard, especially without humanity and COPPA authentication. However I've stacked! • Problem using unicode in URLs with cgi.PATH_INFO in ColdFusion

  Hi there, My ColdFusion (MX7) site has search functionality which appends the search term to the URL e.g. http://www.example.com/search.cfm/searchterm. The problem I'm running into is this is a multilingual site, so the search term may be in another language e.g. ??????? leading to a search URL such as http://www.example.com/search.cfm/??????? The problem is when I come to retrieve the search term from the URL. I'm using cgi.PATH_INFO to retrieve the path of the search page and the search term and extracting the search term from this e.g. /search.cfm/searchterm however, when unicode characters are used in the search they are converted to question marks e.g. /search.cfm/??????. These appear actual question marks, rather than the browser not being able to format unicode characters, or them being mangled on output. I can't find any information about whether ColdFusion supports unicode in the URL, or how I can go about resolving this and getting hold of the complete URL in some way - does anyone have any ideas?   I'm trying to develop a new feature for our vb.net order entry system. At the moment I provide an assisted paypal login which loops through transactions and copies the transactions. My program then looks at this data and copies it into text boxes. The operator then approves and saves the record. So my code uses IHTMLFormElement and loops round form elements and adds values. However I only really use this to log in to paypal. See my code...   First, I'm a Haskell beginner. I'm planning integrating Haskell into C for realtime game. Haskell does logic, C does rendering. To do this, I have to pass huge complexly structured data (game state) from/to each other for each tick (at least 30 times per second). So the passing data should be lightweight. This state data may laid on sequential space on memory. Both of Haskell and C parts should access every area of the states freely. In best case, the cost of passing data can be copying a pointer to a memory. In worst case, copying whole data with conversion. I'm reading Haskell's FFI(http://www.haskell.org/haskellwiki/FFICookBook#Working_with_structs) The Haskell code look specifying memory layout explicitly. I have a few questions. Can Haskell specify memory layout explicitly? (to be matched exactly with C struct) Is this real memory layout? Or any kind of conversion required? (performance penalty) If Q#2 is true, Any performance penalty when the memory layout specified explicitly? What's the syntax #{alignment foo}? Where can I find the document about this? If I want to pass huge data with best performance, how should I do that? *PS Explicit memory layout feature which I said is just C#'s [StructLayout] attribute. • Concatenate 2 text elements on a line with full-width border using CSS only

  Okay, I'm a newbie to CSS3, so please be gentle. ;-) I'm working with some Wordpress code (Woocommerce plugin, to be exact), and I'm trying to format a line of code in a sidebar so that 2 separate text items (one in an <a, the other in a <span are all on the same line, the full width of the column, and with a bottom border. • Rails runner command not saving to cache

  Hi I'm having a bit of a problem with a cron task generated by rails whenever plugin that should store remote data in the rails cache for display. What I have is this: schedule.rb set :path, '/var/www/apps/tuexplore/current' every 1.hour do runner "Weather.cache_remote", :environment => :production end calls this model class Weather def self.cache_remote Rails.cache.write('weather_data', Net::HTTP.get_response(URI.parse(WEATHER_URL)).body) end end Calling whenever returns this PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games:/home/deploy/.gem/ruby/1.8/bin 0 * * * * /var/www/apps/tuexplore/current/script/runner -e production "Weather.cache_remote" This doesn't work. Calling the weather model method from a controller works fine, but I need to schedule it hourly. The cron task causes a "Cache write: weather_data" entry to appear in the production log but data isn't stored nor output into the page. Additional information, I can log into production console and run Weather.cache_remote, then read the data from the rails cache. I'd be really appreciative if someone could point out the error of my ways. If further explanation is needed please ask. Thanks in advance for any pointers.

• Component based web project directory layout with git and symlinks

  I am planning my directory structure for a linux/apache/php web project like this: Only www.example.com/webroot/ will be exposed in apache www.example.com/ webroot/ index.php comp1/ comp2/ component/ comp1/ comp1.class.php comp1.js comp2/ comp2.class.php comp2.css lib/ lib1/ lib1.class.php the component/ and lib/ directory will only be in the php path. To make the css and js files visible in the webroot directory I am planning to use symlinks. webroot/ index.php comp1/ comp1.js (symlinked) comp2/ comp2.css (symlinked) I tried following these principles: layout by components and libraries, not by file type and not by "public' or 'non public', index.php is an exception. This is for easier development. symlinking files that need to be public for the components and libs to a public location, but still mirroring the layout. So the component and library structure is also visible in the resulting html code in the links, which might help development. git usage should be safe and always work. it would be ok to follow some procedure to add a symlink to git, but after that checking them out or changing branches should be handled safely and clean How will git handle the symlinking of the single files correctly, is there something to consider? When it comes to images I will need to link directories, how to handle that with git? component/ comp3/ comp3.class.php img/ img1.jpg img2.jpg img3.jpg They should be linked here: webroot/ comp3/ img/ (symlinked ?) If using symlinks for that has disadvantages maybe I could move images to the webroot/ tree directly, which would break the first principle for the third (git practicability). So this is a git and symlink question. But I would be interested to hear comments about the php layout, maybe you want to use the comment function for this.

• What is the proper way of debugging a slow Windows installation?

  You know the drill - you've been asked to check why you cousin's computer is running slow. I was there yesterday. Being a Mac user since 2007 I haven't really dug deep in Windows internals in the past five years. Googling for answers reveals many, many different answers: broken registry, spyware, antivirus program, fragmented disk, turning of visual effects etc. In this particular case I was asked to look at a two year old HP laptop with Vista. Windows was running incredibly slow and even opening up a new explorer window took almost a minute. I ended up doing everything of the above: running cc cleaner, defragmenting the disk, turning off visual effects, turning off norton and a bunch of other things people believe have an impact on Windows performance. Now I'd like to understand this in depth. Is there a proper, "scientific" if you so will, way of debugging and understanding where the problem with a slow running Windows installation lies? (In my particular case this concerned Windows Vista but let's try to create general guide for XP and Windows 7 too). To me, it seems wrong to just run a bunch of different tools without understanding the underlying cause of the error.

I am using Ansible to provision my instance. It is a Digital Ocean single core 512MB VM. I have been using vagrant / ansible with the same config locally for dev and it has compiled fine, this is the first cloud VM I am attempting to provision. The only difference is the base image for my DO server is coming from DO and for my local dev, I built my own Vagrant box via VirtualBox from a stock CentOS basic server install. I pull it down from my DropBox. • TEXTAREAs scroll by themselves (on IE8) every time you type one character

  IE8 has a known bug (per connect.microsoft.com) where typing or pasting text into a TEXTAREA element will cause the textarea to scroll by itself. This is hugely annoying and shows up in many community sites, including Wikipedia. • Strange problem with Google Mail and IMAP on Outlook 2007

  I work for a small non-profit organization. We have about 35 administrative employees who use e-mail. We're on a Windows network with a domain. Everyone is running XP Pro and Office 2007 with all updates/patches. We used to use POP3 mail through a local provider. However, we recently signed-up for a free Google Apps account, and we switched to IMAP mail through Google. Everyone uses Outlook 2007 as the client. For about ten days, everything was working fine. Yesterday afternoon, we suddenly developed a strange and annoying problem. Every time you send an e-mail message, a copy of your outgoing message shows up in your inbox. It's as if you're adding your own address to the CC: line of every message. Nothing has changed on our end. I was hoping that the problem was a temporary glitch that would resolve itself, but here we are about 24 hours later, and it's still happening. I searched Twitter, and there were a handful of vague messages about issues with Google mail and IMAP, but I didn't see any references to this specific problem. Any thoughts on what's going on here and how to fix it?

• Using mod-rewrite to conditionally select existing file in a subdirectory based on Host header?

  I'm working through a problem where I want to select a different static content file based on the incoming Host header. The simple example is a mapping from URLs to files like this: www.example.com/images/logo.gif - \images\logo.gif skin2.example.com/images/logo.gif - \images\skin2\logo.gif skin3.example.com/images/logo.gif - \images\skin3logo.gif I have this working with the following RewriteRules, but I don't like how I have to repeat myself so much. Each host has the same set of rules, and each RewriteCond and RewriteRule has the same path.   Hi, I I keep getting a 500 Internal Server Error when the script below reaches the header('location:php_email_thankyou.php'). Im not sure what is causing this, as I can place the header expression before or after the if statements and it works fine. • Memeory Leak in Windows Page file when calling a shell command

  I have an issue on our Windows 2003 x64 Build Server when invoking shell commands from a script. Each call causes a "memory leak" in the page file so it grows quite rapidly until it reaches the maximum and the machine stops working. I can reproduce the problem very nicely by running a perl script like for ($count=1; $count<5000; $count++) { system "echo huhu"; } It is independent of he scripting language as the same happens with lua: for i=1,5000 do os.execute("echo huhu") end I found somebody describing the same issue with php at http://www.issociate.de/board/post/454835/Memory_leak_occurs_when_exec%28%29_function_is_used_on_Windows_platform.html His solution: Firewall/Virus Scanner does not apply, neither are running on the machine. We can also reproduce the issue on other Developer Machines running XP 64, but not on XP 32 Bit. I also found an article describing a leak situation in page file at http://www.programfragment.com/ The guilty guy for the allocation is C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs which runs all the basic Windows services. Does anybody know the issue and how to resolve it ?

  This is the situation: I've a PhP login page that check is an external ASP page has generated something (nickname). For example: i'm logged? So opening directly the asp page will display "nickname:thecrius" and nothing more. I'm not logged? So opening the ASP page will display nothing. Now i've to catch the "thecrius" string with a PhP page. Using file_get_contents only return me "nickname:", the "static" part of the asp page. What i'm doing wrong?   How to get micro second resolution timestamps on windows? I am loking for something better than QueryPerformanceCounter, QueryPerformanceFrequency (these can only give you an elapsed time since boot, and are not necessarily accurate if they are called on different threads - ie QueryPerformanceCounter may return different results on different CPUs. There are also some processors that adjust their frequency for power saving, which apparently isn't always reflected in their QueryPerformanceFrequency result.) • Jquery grid overlay in wordpress

  I am adding this simple plugin that I have working in a static html site, and am trying to add it to a wordpress development site based off of 960 gs. • IE6 transparency+radio button can't be clicked

  IE6: when I place a partially transparent image in a div, the radio buttons in that div that overlap the non-transparent pixels of the image become unclickable. After I authenticate it send me back to my page and then quickly sends me back to the authenticate page again.   Hy guys, I've a problem with IExplorer, Chrome, Safari etc.. Only Firefox works perfectly with all of this @font-face rules: In Css: @font-face { font-family: Calibri; src: url('Calibri.ttf'); } @font-face { font-family: HAND; src: url('http://www.mydomain.org/css/HAND.eot'); src: url("HAND.ttf"); } #side_text { position:relative; width:330px; height:800px; float:left; margin-left:25px; margin-top:30px; } #side_text p { font-family: HAND; font-size: 18pt; text-align:left; color:#f3eee1; } In .html <div id="side_text"> text text text text text text text text I'ven't any problem with Calibri font, maybe because it's installed on os. The HAND font it's the problem. Moreover, IExplorer don't take any customs write in css (color, font-size, align..) That's all, hope to find a solution.. or I'll gone crazy :( Ps: I converted the .ttf font to eot with two different online converter - Sorry for spam :/ (http://ttf2eot.sebastiankippe.com) www.kirsle.net/wizards/ttf2eot.cgi because I've problem to execute ttf2eot on google code Thanks a lot guys!!
