  • Getting a stream back from a .Net remoting service that is accessible with IP v4 and v6

    My company has an existing .Net Remoting service that listens on a port, fronting interfaces used by external systems. This all works great with IP v4 based communications. However, this service now needs to support both IP v4 communications and IP v6 communications. I have found info that the system.runtime.remoting section of the app.config should include two channels as follows: <channel ref="tcp" name="tcp6" port="9000" bindTo="[::]" /> <channel ref="tcp" name="tcp4" port="9000" bindTo="0.0.0.0" /> The above config file changes to the System.Runtime.Remoting config section will get the remoting service responding to non-stream functions on both ip v4 and ip v6. The issue comes only when attempting to get a stream back, used to upload or download large files. In this case, instead of getting a usable stream back, the following ArgumentException is thrown instead: IPv4 address 0.0.0.0 and IPv6 address ::0 are unspecified addresses that cannot be used as a target address. Parameter name: hostNameOrAddress Is there a way to modify the app.config (in the system.runtime.remoting section, or another section) so that the service will return a stream mapped to a real ip so the client can actually upload/download files while maintaining the ability to use both IP v4 and IP v6?

  • How can I determine whether or not to add project items using IWizard?

    Hi, I am generating entity wrappers in VS2010 based on dynamic objects in a CRM system. In addition to the entity code, I want to add an EntityBase of which all entities inherit from. If the file exists in the project from before, it should not be added. I am using an IWizard implementation to give the generator the object names etc. Is it possible in the IWizard implementation to determine whether or not to add an item if it exists in the project from before? How do I get a hold of the project handle and its items in or before the ShouldAddProjectItem method?     Hello, I'm writing transpose function for 8x16bit vectors with SSE2 intrinsics. Since there are 8 arguments for that function (a matrix of 8x8x16bit size), I can't do anything but pass them by reference. Will that be optimized by the compiler (I mean, will these __m128i objects be passed in registers instead of stack)?   • Can I add a java portlet to an existing java Web App?

    Hi. I'm building a webapp that uses jboss-seam with jsf, facelets and rich faces, running on top of jboss AS 5.1. I would like to add a portlet area where I could add my own portlets, but from what I got (reading forums and documentation) I need to be running a portlet container/portal (something like liferay or gatein). But I don't want to be running a portal. I just want some kind of control where I can embed a portlet (something like an iFrame). Is this true or I got it wrong? If I'm wrong, how can I add an area to my webapp where I can add a portlet? Thanks Best regards.

I'm trying to run command which contains quotes.. example: Shell("cmd.exe") SendKeys.Send("cd "c:\users\abc def" ") <<<<--- this line SendKeys.Send("{ENTER}") there is an syntax error. the problem is that I need to add quotes to some commands as there is a space in folderpath. For referencing the source of your own project you use: source:some/file But since I want to refer to code in another project my thought was that I could write something like: other_project:source:some/file Anyone that knows if this is possible in some way?     I have a Class that needs to obtain a reference to it's application's AssetManager. This class does not extend any sort of android UI class, so it doesn't have a getContext() method, or anything similar. Is there some sort of static Context.getCurrentApplicationContext() type of method? To clarify: my class is intended to be used like a library, for other applications. It has no associated AndroidManifest.xml or control over the context which is calling it.

    The title of this question isn't so clear, but the code and question is straightforward. Let's say I want to show my users an ad once per day. To accomplish this, every time they visit a page on my site, I check to see if a certain memcache key has any data stored on it. If so, don't show an ad. If not, store the value '1' in that key with an expiration of 86400. I can do this 2 ways: //version a $key='OPD_'.date('Ymd').'_'.$type.'_'.$user; if($memcache->get($key)===false){ $memcache->set($key,'1',false,$expire); //show ad } //version b $key='OPD_'.date('Ymd').'_'.$type.'_'.$user; if($memcache->add($key,'1',false,$expire)){ //show ad } Now, it might seem obvious that b is better, it always makes 1 memcache call. However, what is the overhead of "add" vs. "get"? These aren't the real comparisons... and I just made up these numbers, but let's say 1 add ~= 1 set ~= 5 get in terms of effort, and the average user views 5 pages a day: a: (5 get * 1 effort) + (1 set * 5 effort) = 10 units of effort b: (5 add * 5 effort) = 25 units of effort Would it make sense to always do the add call? Is this an unnecessary micro-optimization?

And roll() adds the specified (signed) single unit of time on the given time field without changing larger fields. I can't think of an everyday usage of roll() I would do everything by add().     I have developed a service which includes timer task and runs after every 5 minutes for keeping tracking record of the device, every five minutes it adds a record to the database. My service is working fine when the phone is not moving i.e it gives records after every 5 minutes as it should be. But i have noticed that when the phone is on move it updates the points after 10 or 20 minutes , i.e whenever the user stops in his way whenever he is on the move. Do service freezes on the move, if yes! how is whatsapp messenger managing it?? It occurs to any asp.net page in the application, rendering the entire application unusable until the user gets a new session. The cause of the problem is that the ReportViewer uses session state. Microsoft has implemented pinging between the report viewer and the report server to keep the report alive on the server when the report viewer is up; I hope they will go one step further to take care of this problem.
