Will there be a significant performance difference between any of the following ways of initializing a: a = [foo(i) for i in xrange(100)] a = map(foo, range(100)) vfoo = numpy.vectorize(foo) a = vfoo(range(100)) (I don't care whether the output is a list or a numpy array.)   • upload form only works in Firefox when uploading ASCII .stl 3D files

    uploadform.html and upload_file.php (below) works fine in Firefox but fails in Chrome, IE, and Safari when uploading ASCII .stl 3D files. Error message is "Invalid file" and problem occurs with multiple computers and multiple .stl files. When I modify the code to support other file types like JPG and PDF it allows those file types in all three web browsers. Also, Firefox only allows the .stl upload if I include application/octet-stream in the mime types section.   • Updating data source on multiple pivot tables within Excel

    Is there an easy way to update the data source for multiple pivot tables on a single Excel sheet at the same time? All of the pivot tables reference the same named range, but I need to create a second worksheet that has the same pivot tables, but accessing a different named range. Ideally I would like to be able to do some kind of search and replace operation (like you can do on formulae), rather than updating each individual pivot table by hand. Any suggestions?

The datastructure is int[][][] It contains no duplicates The range of integers that are contained in it is defined. Let's say it's 0..1000, the maximal integer is definitely not greater than 10000. Big problem is that this hash function should also be very fast. Is there a way to create such a hash function? Maybe at run time depending on the integer range?

  • .NET Framework 4 updates breaking MMC.exe and other CLR.dll Exceptions

    I've seen this issue floating around the net the last few weeks and I'm facing exactly the same issue. My servers are set to auto install updates using Windows update (not clever, I know), and since about 2 months ago, I've been getting strange Exceptions. The first thing that happens is that MMC.exe just crashes randomly and sometimes on startup of the console. The exception in the Windows Application log is as follow: Faulting application name: mmc.exe, version: 6.1.7600.16385, time stamp: 0x4a5bc808 Faulting module name: mscorwks.dll, version: 2.0.50727.5448, time stamp: 0x4e153960 Secondly, on the same server, I have some custom Windows services which constantly crash with exceptions : Faulting application name: Myservice.exe, version: 1.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4f44cb11 Faulting module name: clr.dll, version: 4.0.30319.239, time stamp: 0x4e181a6d Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x000378aa The exception is not in my code. I've tested and retested it. My server has the following .NET Framework updates installed: Does anyone have any idea?

My assumption is that the ASA is using PAP authentication, instead of MS-CHAP v2; the credentials are confirmed, the proper Remote Access Policy is being used, but this policy is set to only allow MS-CHAP2. What do we need to do on the ASA to make it us MS-CHAP v2? In the ADSM GUI The "Microsoft CHAP v2 compatible" tickbox is enabled, but I don't know what this corresponds to in the config.

    We just finished a we-know-just-enough-to-be-dangerous migration from SBS 2003 to SBS 2008, and things seem to have gone relatively smoothly. After running the SBS 2008 Best Practices Analyzer on the destination server, we've got three warning messages, and I can't tell if they're important or not. First, the easy one: SMTP Port (TCP 25 Status): The Edgetransport.exe process should listen on SMTP port 25, but that port is owned by the process. I don't think that this one is a big deal--e-mail is flowing through the SMTP connector. Since there are two spaces between "the" and "process," I'm assuming that for some reason BPA just couldn't figure out the owning process name and this is just some sloppy programming when displaying the message. (Indeed, on subsequent runs of the BPA this message goes away, and other times it comes back.) Now, two more scary sounding ones: No DNS name server records: There are no DNS name server (NS) resource records in the _msdcs sub-domain in the forward lookup zone for Windows SBS 2008. and, similarly, No DNS name server records: There are no DNS name server (NS) resource records in the _msdcs zone for Windows SBS 2008. Now for these two, everything appears to be functioning correctly--but I'm assuming this is a weird state as a result of the SBS 2003 to 2008 migration. Can anyone provide any pointers on how to fix it, or whether or not it can be safely ignored? Thanks!

  • How do I get a .Net 4.0 app to coexist as an application under a SharePoint 2007 website in IIS v7?

    I have created a small .Net 4.0 website and installed it on my SharePoint server as a separate web site in IIS v7 (using port 8008 for now). I had to install the .Net 4 framework, set up the database, etc. and this all went smoothly and my app works as a standalone website. Now I am trying to get pages from my website to show up in SharePoint 2007. For various reasons (the SharePoint site is using SSL, security, etc.) I now need to move my .Net app to run under the SharePoint 2007 site in IIS. I have added it as an 'Application' and set it up with the same .Net v4 application pool and settings that were working when it was set up as a standalone site. Now when I try to access the application I get the error at the end of this description. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I already tried following the instructions on this post: http://blogs.msdn.com/sgoodyear/archive/2007/05/07/custom-web-applications-coexisting-with-sharepoint-2007.aspx but that did not help. Thanks!     I want rsyslog to write log messages in JSON format, which requires to use double-quotes (") around strings. Problem is that values sometime include double-quotes themselves, and those need to be escaped - but I can't figure out how to do that.   • Mounting a share with spaces in FreeBSD fstab

    I'm trying to mount a smb network share in fstab on FreeBSD, which works fine for a share without spaces, but fails if a space is in the name. I have replaced the space with \040 which is what everything on google has said, but that didn't help. Share name I'm trying to mount is "Data Backups".
