  If I create a Web Application project in visual studio 2008 I can add a resource file for a page and using the Access Modifier drop down in the resource file editor to let visual studio generate the code so that the local resources are strongly typed. However if I create a Web Site project this combo box is disabled. Is there anyway to acheive this for a web site?

I see that StackOverflow ignore FormsAuthentication and instead implemented a different strategy to persist a login cookie. Pros Out of the box implementation for persistent login feature. Cons The login feature depends on the machine key which mean that I need to make sure that the machine key is the same on all the servers in the farm. The cookie contains wired encrypted values that don't really make sense to store in the cookie.

  Hi, Kangxi radicals in the range 2F00-2FDF (see link text) are not displayed correctly on the iPhone device. They appear as a crossed-out box. In the simulator they display correctly. I tried the system font and also the [UIFont fontWithName:@"STHeitiTC-Medium" size:24]; ... Is the unicode codepoint coverage limited on the iphone (in my case OS 3.1.3)? How to make those radicals appear??? Thx

• College wifi works easily on Linux, but not on Windows

  In Linux: After connecting to the college wifi, going to the network login page logging in, the internet works perfectly as it should. In Windows: After connecting to the college wifi, going to the network login page, logging in, Windows shows "Internet access" and the wireless icon turns white. But still after that, regardless of the browser being used, attempting to accessing any page just shows "Sending request". It does work though after a lot of tries, but only in intervals. But when running Ubuntu 11.10 in VirtualBox, it works properly just like booting in Ubuntu, even if it isn't working on Windows. The college wifi service is really crappy and has been unable to solve this problem. I'm pretty sure there should be a solution for this, but what? What is it that Ubuntu is doing right and Windows isn't? Windows settings set to "Automatically detect settings" and no proxy server used.

  Normally, I would use a PHP webservice to do this, but since the front-end is hosted on a linux box, I need another way to do this (so I don't have to go through the trouble of installing FreeTDS, etc. I will if I have to). Two Diamond BVU195 HD USB Display Adapters (DVI and VGA with included DVI to VGA adapter) to plug into the USB port Two Dell ST2310 monitors One external USB hub so I don't use up both of my USB ports Will this work? I've read some people say it does and some people say it doesn't, but I don't know enough to say either way.
