  • How to make a single line systabcontrol32 that scrolls but doesn't show a scrollbar

    - by TheNewbie
Hi I'm creating a systabcontrol32 control with the TCS_SINGLELINE style when I resize my window so the tab won't fit an up-down control appears that should allow me to scroll so I can see all the tabs. The thing is that the up-down buttons don't seem to work unless I add a the WS_HSCROLL property to the tab control witch makes it ugly as hell. It could be cool if the up-down could scroll the tabs without need to add the scrollbar (even more since the scroll bar doesn't seem to work, it just sits there and I can't click it).

  • [WPF] Is D3DImage causing airspace problem?

    - by Crocodile
A DirectX scene can be drawn inside of a WindowsFormsHost, but this solution concerns struggling with some interop issues, mainly the 'airspace' problem. Thus, before creating whole framework for this, I'd like to know, if a D3DImage used within a WPF window will cause alike problems with overlay and sizing as described in the WindowsFormsHost doc? Or is it designed to be fully compatible with WPF system? Thank you for your help.

  • License plate recognition

    - by WowtaH
As a side-project I'm trying to create an app that scans license plates from passing cars from my living-room window. I have hooked up a high resolution camera to my system to capture (moving) images into my c# app. Now all I need is a way to interpret these images into something readable. I´m thinking about some sort of OCR-solution that is fast/accurate enough for moving images. Hope you can give me some direction!

  • Find the exact height and width of the viewport in a cross-browser way (no Prototype/jQuery)

    - by lyoshenka
I'm trying to find the exact height and width of a browser's viewport, but I suspect that either Mozilla or IE is giving me the wrong number. Here's my method for height: var viewportHeight = window.innerHeight || document.documentElement.clientHeight || document.body.clientHeight; I haven't started on width yet but I'm guessing it's going to be something similar. Is there a more correct way of getting this information? Ideally, I'd like the solution to work with Safari/Chrome/other browsers as well.

  • C++Template in Java?

    - by RnMss
I want something like this: public abstract class ListenerEx<LISTENER, PARENT> implements LISTENER { PARENT parent; public ListenerEx(PARENT p) { parent = p; } } But it doesn't compile. Is there a better solution? Is there something in Java like C++ template that would do check syntax after template deduction? The following explains why I need such a ListenerEX class, if you already know what it is, you don't need to read the following. I have a main window, and a button on it, and I want to get access to some method of the main window's within the listener: public class MainWindow extends JFrame { public void doSomething() { /* ... */ } public void doSomethingElse() { /* ... */ } private JButton button; public MainWindow() { button = new JButton(...); add(button); button.setActionListener(new ActionListener() { public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { doSomething(); doSomethingElse(); } }); } } This would compile but does not work properly all the time. (Why would it compile when the ActionListener does not have doSomething() method?) Of course we can do it like this: public class MainWindow extends JFrame { public void doSomething() { } public void doSomethingElse() { } private JButton button; public MainWindow() { button = new JButton(...); add(button); class ActionListener1 implements ActionListener { MainWindow parent; public ActionListener(MainWindow p) { parent = p; } public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { parent.doSomething(); parent.doSomethingElse(); } } button.setActionListener(new ActionListener1(this)); } } However I hate this style ... So I tried: public abstract class ActionListenerEx<P> implements ActionListener { P parent; public ActionListenerEx(P p) { parent = p; } } public class MainWindow extends JFrame { public void doSomething() { } public void doSomethingElse() { } private JButton button; public MainWindow() { button = new JButton(...); add(button); button.setActionListener(new ActionListenerEx<MainWindow>(this) { public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { parent.doSomething(); parent.doSomethingElse(); } }); } } But there's lots of Listeners beside the ActionListener ... public abstract class ActionListenerEx<LISTENER, PARENT> implements LISTENER { PARENT parent; public ActionListenerEx(PARENT p) { parent = p; } } However, it won't compile ... I am fresh at Java, and I wonder if there's already better solution.

  • Batch closes prematurely on a for /f command

    - by VonC
I have a batch file (in windows XP, with command extension activated) with the following line: for /f %%s in ('type version.txt') do set VERSION=%%s On some computer, it works just fine (as illustrated by this SO question), but on other it kills cmd (the console window just closes) Why ? • Arrow in nav menus in CSS/JS (e.g. playframework.org)

    - by manmal
The navigation menu at the top of the www.playframework.org site features a small arrow pointing upward for the currently selected section (Home, Learn, Download,...). I tried to get behind the implementation they used, but I can't wrap my head around it - the resource does not show up in Chrome's Resources window, and an inspection of the elements did not show any signs of a background image, nor a JS interceptor (although I might have missed that). What in hellhound's name is going on there? :)

  • appengine log console extremely slow

    - by Joey
I am using the python app engine and finding that the log console on the local development server is terribly slow. Output to this window seems to show in chunks of about 5-15 lines every second. Is that typical? I find that it's so slow that it hinders my debugging time waiting for log data to appear.

  • Access.Application.CurrentDb is Nothing?

    - by Allain Lalonde
I'm at a loss to explain this one: I'm getting an error "91" (Object or With block not set) on the second line below: Dim rs As DAO.Recordset Set rs = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset("SELECT * FROM employees") The following also causes it: Set rs = CurrentDb.OpenRecordset("employees") Executing ?CurrentDb.Name alone in the immediate window causes the error as well. Now, clearly the database is open since I'm editing the form within it, so what can cause this error here?

  • Is it possible to specify a function with both extern and override modifiers?

    - by Jeffrey Greenham
I'm trying to override the behavior of an external function in user32.dll because I don't want a certain window to show up. What I'm trying to do is this: [DllImport("user32.dll")] public extern override IntPtr GetSystemMenu(IntPtr hMenu, bool bRevert) { return new IntPtr(); } but this won't work because I get the following errors: ... no suitable method found to override and ... cannot be extern and declare a body Is there any way to simulate what I'm trying to do?

  • How can you track mouse input using the fewest libraries in c.

    - by TimE
I'm not sure where to look to find this information, but I'd like to know how to get mouse input (or any hid input) using the fewest non standard libraries in c. Basically, is there an stdio equivalent for mouse (and other input) input in c? Or is there a library that is minimal and cross compatible on multiple platforms. Just being able to print mouse coordinates to a terminal window would be enough.
