Where can I tell exim to run a shell/php command everytime a new mail has been delivered to a virtual mailbox. It does not matter to which user the mail is delivered?
I've been unable to do a fresh install of XBMC Live 9.11 to my hard drive. Everytime it fails at the Install System step. But I am able to get XBMC Live 9.04.1 to install successfully.

I understand that Ctrl+Shift+F2 brings up the command line, but what are the next set of commands to run?
SQL Server 2008 does not install DMO by default. Is there a function or script I can use from the command prompt to check remote servers to see if DMO has already been installed? We were using a registry key check but thought that might not be the best option. Any advice is appreciated!
I'm running
psql -U postgres template1 -c "select * from pg_stat_activity"
and the output is to wide for my terminal. Is there a *nix command I can use to prevent the output form wrapping? Maybe a setting in screen that enables virtual horizontal scrolling?
When I press TAB key in command window, the tab character (spacing) is inserted instead of iterating trough items in current directory. How can I make it work this other way (autocompletion)?
What command would you use in cmd.exe to find the number of files in the current directory?
Is there a powershell option here?
Update: I was hoping to avoid dir, as I know there are 10,000+ files in the current directory. Wanted to avoid the enumeration output to the cmd window. Thank you!
I'm running some lengthy video encodes using the Handbrake command line interface. After all my encodes are done, I would like to have the PC speaker beep, as I usually turn my large external speakers off.
On Linux I would install the "beep" package, but so far I haven't found such a program for Windows 7.

I'm not even sure why I'd want to do this. I guess I'm just curious. Is there a way to get to some kind console, command line, or text-based UI on the iPhone?
I'm referring to accessing the iPhone system itself, poking around in the directories, opening files in something akin to vi, that sort of thing.
I would like to assign Windows Firewall's public profile to the public Ethernet interface and the private profile to the private Ethernet interface. I can do this with the GUI via
Open Windows Firewall with Advanced Security
Click on Windows Firewall Properties
Click the Private Profile Tab
Click Customize
Select the Interface I want (private)
Click OK
Repeat step 3-6 for the public profile
How do I do this via command line? I'm using Windows Server 2008 R2
Hi,
I am creating a script to sync my important documents between two system. I want my script to generate a log file for the last action. can you suggest me a way to achieve this.
Question: If I execute the rsync command with -v flag, it will print a lot of messages on the console. Is there any way. So, I can redirect these logs to a file?
I have a network printer that is properly shared under Windows 7 on network with Windows 7 computers, but when configuring it in command prompt with:
net use lpt1: \\zzzz\laser /persistent:yes
then it requires a user name and password. How can I configure the printer so that this is no longer required?
I have to create about 800 users in our Windows S 2008 R2 and I'd like to make a few settings with them.
Create user: net user Joe 1mb4pASs /add /fullname:"John Smith" /passwordchg:no /comment:"no comment"
Set never expired password: wmic useraccount where "Name='Joe'" set PasswordExpires=FALSE
Add the user to two groups (like in the Members Of tab in the GUI)
Remote Desktop Users
(I translated it from hungarian, because the server) Terminal Services - Computers to enable the use of applications via webaccess
Step 3 is where I'm having problems. What command(s) should I use for this?
I'm running
psql -U postgres template1 -c "select * from pg_stat_activity"
and the output is too wide for my terminal. Is there a *nix command I can use to prevent the output from wrapping? Maybe a setting in screen that enables virtual horizontal scrolling?
Uniconverter is a command-line tool that shares code with the sK1 Project. it's used to convert from one type of vector graphic file to another like this:
uniconverter before.eps after.svg
I'm looking for a step by step solution to install this tool on my laptop.
A similar question posted on the Uniconverter Forum back in August is still unanswered.
I read about Uniconverter in an answer posted by Neil but don't grok how to send him a message directly for more details.
Before powering down the Drobo and removing it you're supposed to use the "shutdown" functionality from the Drobo Dashboard. Is there a way to call this from the command line so it can be included in a script?
I haven't needed anything like this before but I'm sure something exists. I'm looking for a compiled Windows executable (i.e. noninterpreted language) that I don't need to write that can read the arguments passed in on the command line, open an TCP network socket to another machine, and pass the arguments along.
Has anyone used something like this before?
I was wondering why is it that some programs requires their command prompt parameters to have two dashes in front whereas some (most) only require one dash in front?
For example most programs look like this: relaxer -dtd toc.xml toc_gr.xml toc_jp.xml
Whereas some programs look like this: xmllint --valid toc.xml --noout
What's the reason that some requires two dashes instead of one? Doesn't it make sense for everyone to stick to one standard (i.e. a single dash will do).
I'm using Debian Linux and I want to convert a CSV file to an Excel XLS Spreadsheet file. The catdoc package includes the xls2csv command that converts from XLS to CSV. However it doesn't do the reverse.
Since I just have a CSV file, I don't care about formatting or anything like that. I'm not worried if it only generates a very simple XLS file, and doesn't support the fancy new versions. Just so long as it's an XLS spreadsheet.
I have a bunch of ghost image files to edit. These are Windows OS images, and I need to add a few files into the them.
I could have used Ghost Explorer (GhostExp.exe) to modify them one by one, but it would be nicer to have a command line utility to do the trick, so that I can write a script to do this automatically for me.
Any suggestions?
I have an OpenOfice macro that I want to use to process the contents of an OpenOffice file. I am able to do this by opening the file with OpenOffice and then running the macro. How do I invoke the macro from the Linux command line without using the GUI? Something like:
$ oowriter -headless -o MyDocument.odt -RUNMACRO MyLittleMacro
How can I rename a computer from the command line?

I have an long mpeg movie and I want to cut out a lot of material from the beginning and end, and certain patches in the middle. Is there a way I can easily do this from the linux command line?
I'm searching of a command line tool that can show latex like below properly in a prompt:
\frac{\partial u}{\partial t} = \alpha \nabla^2 u
Anyone knows about such a tool?
