  • Jerky transition after the login screen

    Hi, I have a clean install of Windows 7 Professional x64. After I type my password at the logon screen, the blue background is supposed to fade away smoothly and show the desktop, but on my machine the transition is jerky. I have an ATI graphics card and the Catalyst 10.2 drivers. What can I do to make the transition more smooth? Thanks!

  • Dual Monitors don't wake up...

    Recently I put my second monitor on my computer. I have now two connections on my ATI graphic card: a VGA and newly added a DVI one. like this: Sine that, I need to start my computer with monitors powered ON, because if I do it after, thay does not "get up" and says that is "no video entry". Also, if I switch OFF my monitors when computer works, switching ON lets them in the sleep state... How can I fix this issue.

    My screen flickers at 1280 x 1024, 75 hertz, 32 bit color, Dell Monitor e190s 19 inch square monitor. This problem only at the above mentioned resolution , it works fine with other resolutions. I just bought this Monitor 2 days back, do you think the Monitor is defective ? Why is this problem occurring , the system says this is the recommended resolution.     Possible Duplicate: Will a PCI-E V2.0 Graphics Card work with a PCI-E V1.0 Motherboard? My HP Pavilion p6754y has a PCI Express x16 slot on it's motherboard, I want to put a video car with something higher than either NVIDIA 8800GTS 512MB or greater or ATI 3850 512MB or greater but the only video cards I can find with those specs are PCI Express 2.0 x16. Is the PCI Express 2.0 x16 compatible with the PCI Express x16 slot?

I like to put on music on my TV, but the problem is when my monitor goes to sleep back in my office, it switches off the hdmi connection completely and the audio goes back to my PC.     I just upgraded my new desktop which came installed with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit with a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and so far I have not noticed any difference in performance. Even my Windows Experience Index number is the same 5.5 that it was before the upgrade. So what's the point, are there any performance advantages that I'm not seeing?   • Can't get decent refresh rate on crt connected to dvi

    Hi, I have a CRT connected to a dvi connector on a videocard using a vga cable and a dvi to vga adapter. Now I cannot set the refresh rate to anything decent (only 60Hz and lower). I've hat this happen using different CRT's, graphics cards (although all ATI, both agp and pcie), and operating systems (both linux and windows). Any idea on how to solve this, maybe some bios setting? Thanks

  • PC will POST whenever feels likes it

    I'm really sick of my PC and I'd love to throw it off the 5th floor but unfortunately I don't have this luxury right now. The issues started when I moved to a new house about 2 months ago. I didn't have this problem before. Case: Arctic Cooling Silentium T1 with embedded Fusion 550 Eco 80 PSU. M/B: ASRock A790GMH/128M Gfx: ATI Radeon HD 5770 Here's what's happening almost on a daily basis: I wake up in the morning, switch on the PC and all the fans start spinning. 9/10 the graphics fan stays on 100% and I know it won't post. If I'm lucky, ATI's fan stays on full power for a second, then goes back to normal and I get a normal post but that doesn't happen often. No, instead it's just drives me crazy. When I get no POST I'm trying a lot of different things and what bothers me the most is that they all work. But not always. No... That way I could find out what the hell is going on and we don't want that.. right? So, sometimes it manages to POST if I: remove the keyboard remove the power cable for a few minutes remove the graphics card remove the HDD cables do nothing, just turn it on and off a few times Sometimes it doesn't POST even if I do all of the above. And I end up removing all power cables from the M/B, and connecting all the stuff one by one. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and I just have to pray and wait. What the hell is that? I'm getting pissed of again just thinking about it. The only solution is to leave it on 24/7 but I don't want to do that. It should be able to turn on and off when I press the power button. I'm not asking much. I'm starting to think there's some weird electricity/power issue but I really don't understand what it is. There's no logical explanation about it. At least I can't find one. Any ideas?

I need to install the Wireless and Graphics drivers, but the HP site is offering me both ATI and Intel graphics drivers (at 102MB and 470(!)MB) a pop, as well as Intel, Broadcomm, RealTek and Atheros wireless drivers. Is there a bit of software that will tell me what devices are in the machine so I don't have to go through, trial-and-error and find which is the right driver for the hardware?

    Using an ATI firepro 4800 card, with three monitors connected (1 dvi, 2 displayport) on Server 2008 R2 worked fine. Ive now moved to a new machine, although identical spec, with a fresh Server 2012 install, and cannot get a three display output - only two. When I try to extend the display on to the third monitor, I get the message "The display settings could not be saved. Please try a different combination of display settings" The machine is a Dell Precision T1600. Any help appreciated.

  • Acer 7551g - hibernation and suspending don't work

    Issue is quite the same like here, I've tried everything I found and nothing happens. If I use uswsusp, suspending works good, but graphics doesn't wake up, when I want to hibernate system, it tells me "Looking for splash system... none s2disk:snapshotting system" and nothing happens. I'm using ATI drivers, i've tried to disable kms, unload usb3 and network drivers, still nothing. Please help me, I don't want to come back to Windows after my 2-year-relationship with Linux. I can share all files I have with you, just help me.
