  • Flex: Double click event propagation on datagrid dependent on component order?

    - by MyMacAndMe
    I'd like to have a double click event on a datagrid in Flex3. The following example only works if the Accordion (id = "mustBeSecond") container comes after the DataGrid. Why is the order of the components important and what can I do to prevent this behavior? (The example does not work. If you change the order of "mustBeSecond" and "gridReportConversions" the example works fine) <mx:Script> <![CDATA[ import mx.controls.Alert; import mx.collections.ArrayCollection; [Bindable] private var dp:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection([ {qty:1,referer:'http://google.com'}, {qty:25,referer:'http://cnn.com'}, {qty:4,referer:'http:stackoverflow.com'}]); private function refererRowDoubleClicked(e:Event):void { Alert.show("double click"); } ]]> </mx:Script> <mx:HBox width="100%" height="100%"> <mx:Accordion width="200" height="200" id="mustBeSecond"> <mx:Canvas label="Navigation Box" width="100%" height="100%"> <mx:VBox> <mx:LinkButton label="First Link" /> <mx:LinkButton label="Second Link" /> </mx:VBox> </mx:Canvas> </mx:Accordion> <mx:DataGrid id="gridReportConversions" height="100%" width="100%" dataProvider="{this.dp}" mouseEnabled="true" doubleClickEnabled="true" itemDoubleClick="refererRowDoubleClicked(event)"> <mx:columns> <mx:DataGridColumn width="75" dataField="qty" headerText="Qty" /> <mx:DataGridColumn dataField="referer" headerText="URL" /> </mx:columns> </mx:DataGrid> </mx:HBox>

  • missing event when using modules with requirejs

    - by ali haider
I had javascript code in a single JS file that was working fine (using XHR/AJAX). When I split it up into separate modules in a requirejs application, I do not seem to get a handle on the event object & it shows up as undefined (testing in firefox 29.0.1). Calling module: ajax.onreadystatechange = new ajaxResponse().handleAjaxResponse(e); ajaxResponse define(["require", './url/urlCommon'], function(require, urlCommon) { 'use strict'; var ajaxResponse = function() { var ajax = null; // e = event || window.event; this.handleAjaxResponse = function() { if (typeof event === 'undefined') { var event = event || window.event; } console.log('e is now:' + typeof e); I also do not have a handle on the event in the handleAjaxResponse method (error: undefined). Any thoughts on what I need to do to troubleshoot/fix this will be greatly appreciated.

  • Restoring a "Canceled" event with Google Calendar API?

    - by user283182
I'm trying to change the status of an event back from "canceled" to "confirmed" using Google Calendar API (I'm using .NET but an answer in any language would help) but I get GDataRequestException error: "You can't modify a cancelled event" If I've used the API to delete an event in a repeating series, for example, is it possible to change the status of the resulting recurrence exception (there's no EXDATE, just a new "canceled" event that is only visible when the feed is requested with start and end date) to "confirmed" (or even delete the resulting exception completely) in order to restore the repeating series to the original state? event.Delete() and event.Update() don't even see the event any longer once it's been .canceled. event.Update() gives the above error. Thanks!

  • How do I add and remove an event listener using a function with parameters?

    - by Bungle
Sorry if this is a common question, but I couldn't find any answers that seemed pertinent through searching. If I attach an event listener like this: window.addEventListener('scroll', function() { check_pos(box); }, false); it doesn't seem to work to try to remove it later, like this: window.removeEventListener('scroll', function() { check_pos(box); }, false); I assume this is because the addEventListener and removeEventListener methods want a reference to the same function, while I've provided them with anonymous functions, which, while identical in code, are not literally the same. How can I change my code to get the call to removeEventListener to work? The "box" argument refers to the name of an <iframe> that I'm tracking on the screen; that is, I want to be able to subscribe to the scroll event once for each <iframe> that I have (the quantity varies), and once the check_pos() function measures a certain position, it will call another function and also remove the event listener to free up system resources. My hunch is that the solution will involve a closure and/or naming the anonymous function, but I'm not sure exactly what that looks like, and would appreciate a concrete example. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for any help!

  • Event type property lost in IE-8

    - by Channel72
I've noticed a strange Javascript error which only seems to happen on Internet Explorer 8. Basically, on IE-8 if you have an event handler function which captures the event object in a closure, the event "type" property seems to become invalidated from within the closure. Here's a simple code snippet which reproduces the error: <html> <head> <script type = "text/javascript"> function handleClickEvent(ev) { ev = (ev || window.event); alert(ev.type); window.setTimeout(function() { alert(ev.type); // Causes error on IE-8 }, 20); } function foo() { var query = document.getElementById("query"); query.onclick = handleClickEvent; } </script> </head> <body> <input id = "query" type = "submit"> <script type = "text/javascript"> foo(); </script> </body> </html> So basically, what happens here is that within the handleClickEvent function, we have the event object ev. We call alert(ev.type) and we see the event type is "click". So far, so good. But then when we capture the event object in a closure, and then call alert(ev.type) again from within the closure, now all of a sudden Internet Explorer 8 errors, saying "Member not found" because of the expression ev.type. It seems as though the type property of the event object is mysteriously gone after we capture the event object in a closure. I tested this code snippet on Firefox, Safari and Chrome, and none of them report an error condition. But in IE-8, the event object seems to become somehow invalidated after it's captured in the closure. Question: Why is this happening in IE-8, and is there any workaround?

  • How to set the value of a wx.combobox by posting an event

    - by Adam Fraser
    The code below demonstrates the problem I am running into. I am creating a wx.ComboBox and trying to mimic it's functionality for testing purposes by posting a wxEVT_COMMAND_COMBOBOX_SELECTED event... this event strangely works fine for wx.Choice, but it doesn't do anything to the ComboBox. There doesn't appear to be a different event that I can post to the combobox, but maybe I'm missing something. I'm running this code on Python 2.5 on a Mac OSX 10.5.8 import wx app = wx.PySimpleApp() def on_btn(evt): event = wx.CommandEvent(wx.wxEVT_COMMAND_COMBOBOX_SELECTED,combobox.Id) event.SetEventObject(combobox) event.SetInt(1) event.SetString('bar') combobox.Command(event) app.ProcessPendingEvents() frame = wx.Frame(None) panel = wx.Panel(frame, -1) # This doesn't work combobox = wx.ComboBox(panel, -1, choices=['foo','bar']) # This works #combobox = wx.Choice(panel, -1, choices=['foo','bar']) combobox.SetSelection(0) btn = wx.Button(panel, -1, 'asdf') btn.Bind(wx.EVT_BUTTON, on_btn) sz = wx.BoxSizer() sz.Add(combobox) sz.Add(btn) panel.SetSizer(sz) frame.Show() app.MainLoop()

  • How to raise CComponent event in Yii

    - by srigi
    Let's assume I have Component (say Graph like Yahoo Finance) rendered on the page. Component view template contains bunch of a_hrefs which I wanto to switch period in graph. I created Event and Event handler in Component. I have two questions: How to raise event on Graph Component via those a_hrefs (should they be part of Graph?)? How to redraw Graph without loosing curent page context (section, filter - specified as $_GET values)? My Graph Component look like this: Yii::import('zii.widgets.CPortlet'); class Graph extends CPortlet { private $_period; /* ********************** * * COMPONENT PROPERTIES * * ********************** */ public function getPeriod() { return $this-_period; } public function setPeriod($period) { $this-_period = $period; } /* ********************** * * GENERIC * * ********************** */ public function init() { parent::init(); // assign event handlers $this-onPeriodChange = array($this, 'handlePeriodChange'); } protected function renderContent() { $this-render('graph'); } /* ********************** * * EVENTS * * ********************** */ public function onPeriodChange($event) { $this-raiseEvent('onPeriodChange', $event); } /* ********************** * * EVENT HANDLERS * * ********************** */ public function handlePeriodChange($event) { // CODE } }

  • threading.Event wait function not signaled when subclassing Process class

    - by user1313404
For following code never gets past the wait function in run. I'm certain I'm doing something ridiculously stupid, but since I'm not smart enough to figure out what, I'm asking. Any help is appreciated. Here is the code: import threading import multiprocessing from multiprocessing import Process class SomeClass(Process): def __init__(self): Process.__init__(self) self.event = threading.Event() self.event.clear() def continueExec(self): print multiprocessing.current_process().name print self print "Set:" + str(self.event.is_set()) self.event.set() print "Set:" + str(self.event.is_set()) def run(self): print "I'm running with it" print multiprocessing.current_process().name self.event.wait() print "I'm further than I was" print multiprocessing.current_process().name self.event.clear() def main(): s_list = [] for t in range(3): s = SomeClass() print "s:" + str(s) s_list.append(s) s.start() raw_input("Press enter to send signal") for t in range(3): print "s_list["+str(t)+"]:" + str(s_list[t]) s_list[t].continueExec() raw_input("Press enter to send signal") for t in range(3): s_list[t].join() print "All Done" if __name__ == "__main__": main()

  • Using Open MQ as an Oracle CEP Event Source

    - by seth.white
I helped an Oracle CEP customer recently who wanted to use Open MQ has an event source for their Oracle CEP application.  In this case, the Oracle CEP application was being used to provide monitoring for an electronic commerce website, however, the steps for configuring Open MQ are entirely independent of the application logic. I thought I would list the configuration steps in a blog post in case they might help others in the future. Note that although the Oracle CEP documentation states that only WebLogic and Tibco JMS are "officially" supported, any JMS implementation that provides a Java client should work with Oracle CEP. The first step is to add an adapter to the application's EPN. This can be done in the usual way, using the Eclipse IDE. The end result is something like the following bit of configuration in the application's Spring application context. Note that the provider attribute value of 'jms-inbound' specifies that the out-of-the-box JMS adapter is being used. <wlevs:adapter id="helloworldAdapter" provider="jms-inbound"> </wlevs:adapter>   Next, configure the inbound adapter so that it can connect to Open MQ in the Oracle CEP configuration file (config.xml). The snippet below provides an example of what this configuration should look like. The exact values specified for jndi-provider-url, jndi-factory, connection-jndi-name, destination-jndi-name elements will depend on your Open MQ configuration.  For example , if the name of your Open MQ topic destination is 'ElectronicCommerceTopic', then you would specify that as the destination-jndi-name.  The name of your Open MQ connection factory goes in the connection-jndi-name element. In my simple example, I also specify in event-type element so that the out-of-the-box JMS adapter will attempt to automatically convert incoming messages to events of type HelloWorldEvent. In a more complex application, one would configure a custom converter on the JMS adapter to convert from messages to events.  The Oracle CEP 11.1.3 documentation describes how to do this.   <jms-adapter> <name>helloworldAdapter</name> <event-type>HelloWorldEvent</event-type> <jndi-provider-url>file:///C:/Temp</jndi-provider-url> <jndi-factory>com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory</jndi-factory> <connection-jndi-name>YourJMSConnectionFactoryName</connection-jndi-name> <destination-jndi-name>YourJMSDestinationName</destination-jndi-name> </jms-adapter>   Finally, one needs to package the client-side Open MQ jars so that the classes that they contain are available to the Oracle CEP runtime. The recommended way for doing this in the Oracle CEP 11.1.3 release is to package the classes as a library module or simply place them in the application bundle.  The advantage of deploying the classes as a library module is that they are available to any application that wants to connect to Open MQ. In my case, I packaged the classes in my application bundle. A best practice when you want to include additional jars in your application bundle is to create a 'lib' directory in your Eclipse project and then copy the required jars into that directory.  Then, use the support that Eclipse provides to add the jars to the bundle classpath (which makes the classes part of your application in the same way that regular application classes are), and export all of the classes from your application bundle so that they are available to the Oracle CEP server runtime.  The screenshot below Illustrates how this is done in Eclipse.  The bundle classpath contains two Open MQ jars and all packages in the jars are exported.     Finally, import the javax.jms and javax.naming packages into the application module as these are needed by the Open MQ classes. The screenshot below shows the complete list of package imports for my sample application.       Once you have completed these steps, you should be able to build and deploy your application and begin receiving inbound messages from Open MQ. • DevDays ‘00 The Netherlands day #1

    - by erwin21
First day of DevDays 2010, I was looking forward to DevDays to see all the new things like VS2010, .NET4.0, MVC2. The lineup for this year is again better than the year before, there are 100+ session of all kind of topics like Cloud, Database, Mobile, SharePoint, User experience, Visual Studio, Web. The first session of the day was a keynote by Anders Hejlsberg he talked about the history and future of programming languages. He gave his view about trends and influences in programming languages today and in the future. The second talk that i followed was from the famous Scott Hanselman, he talked about the basics of ASP.NET MVC 2, although it was a 300 level session, it was more like a level 100 session, but it was mentioned by Scott at the beginning. Although it was interesting to see all the basic things about MVC like the controllers, actions, routes, views, models etc. After the lunch the third talk for me was about moving ASP.NET webform applications to MVC from Fritz Onion. In this session he changed an example webform application part by part to a MVC application. He gave some interesting tips and tricks and showed how to solve some issues that occur while converting. Next and the fourth talk was about the difference between LINQ to SQL and  the ADO.NET  Entity Framework from Kurt Claeys. He gave a good understanding about this two options, the demos where in LINQ to SQL and the Entity Framework, the goal was to get a good understanding when and where to use both options. The last talk about this day was also from Scott Hanselman, he goes deeper into the features of ASP.NET MVC 2 and gave some interesting tips, the ninja black belt tips. He gave some tips about the tooling, the new MVC 2 html helper methods, other view engines (like NHaml, spark),T4 templating. With this tips we can be more productive and create web applications better and faster. It was a long and interesting day, I am looking forward to day #2.

  • eLearning event on HTML5 for Mobile with jQuery Mobile

    - by Wallym
I'll be doing an eLearning event on HTML5 for Mobile with jQuery Mobile. There will also be a few items sprinkled in on ASP.NET Razor. Mobile development is a hot item. Customers are buying iPhones, iPads, Android devices, and many other mobile computing devices at an ever increasing record pace. Devices based on iOS and Android are nearly 80 percent of the marketplace. RIM continues to be dominant in the business area across the world. Nokia's growth with Windows Phone will grow on a worldwide basis. At the same time, clearly web development is a tremendous driver of applications, both on the public Internet and on private networks. How can developers target these various mobile platforms with web technologies? Developers can write web applications that take advantage of each mobile platform, but that is a lot of work. Into this space, the jQuery Mobile framework was developed. This eLearning series will provide an overview of mobile web development with jQuery Mobile, a detailed look at what the jQuery Mobile framework provides for us, how we can customize jQuery Mobile, and how we can use jQuery Mobile inside of ASP.NET.Link: http://elearning.left-brain.com/event/mobile-web-development

  • What rules of etiquette should be followed at software conferences?

    - by shemnon
Whether as an attendee, a speaker, or a vendor I wanted to know what the unspoken rules of etiquette are at software conferences. Other than the blindingly obvious ones (like don't assault the winner of the iPad raffle because you didn't win). What are some of the rules that should be followed, even if you feel they don't need to be said? i.e. what t-shirts are acceptable (like from competing technologies or conferences), playing Wii at vendor booths at Microsoft sponsored conferences, cancelling sessions due to low (one hand) attendance, showering, 'Attendees of Size' spilling over into your seat, talking and eating during sessions or keynotes, etc. Please, one rule per answer, with the summary in bold leading the answer. Post multiple answers if you have multiple rules.

  • Tracking state of a one time event on a big website

    - by Mattis
Assume a website with 250 million active users. I add a new feature to the website. Once a user visits I want to use a short tutorial to teach them how to use said feature. I only want them to complete the tutorial once (or actively click it away). What is the smart way to code the verification check for this? How do I track the progress in the database? Having a separate table with like NewTutorial_completed = 1 for user_id = 21312315 would just snowball. It also feels intuitively bad to check for every one-time event for every user on every page view. While writing the question I got one idea, to have a separate event log that is checked periodically for any new action the user need to see or perform. I push events to this log and once they are completed they are removed from the log. No need to store NewTutorial_completed = 1-type variables this way. I am sure this is a common problem. I would appreciate any input on what best practice is.

  • All day optimizer event....

    - by noreply(at)blogger.com (Thomas Kyte)
I've recently taken over some of the responsibilities of Maria Colgan (also known as the "optimizer lady") so she can move onto supporting our new In Memory Database features (note her new twitter handle for that: https://twitter.com/db_inmemory ).To that end, I have two one day Optimizer classes scheduled this year (and more to follow next year!).  The first one will be Wednesday November 20th in Northern California.  You can find details for that here: http://www.nocoug.org/ .The next one will be 5,500 miles (about 8,800 km) away in the UK - in Manchester.  That'll take place immediately following the UKOUG technical conference taking place the first week of December on December 5th.  You can see all of the details for that here: http://www.ukoug.org/events/tom-kyte-seminar-2013/I know I'll be doing one in Belgrade early next year, probably the first week in April. Stay tuned for details on that and for more to come.
