When we downloaded Xcode 4.5.1, to test applications in older simulators we installed it from Settings->Downloads->Components
Now there is Xcode 4.5.2 available. Again we need to download simulators for that Xcode ? or is there any location where those simulators stored similar to Documentation.
In 2nd image below we can see location for documentation but in 1st image selecting simulator doesn't show any location of installation.
Any idea ?
When I drag a file from "Downloads" to my USB stick window, it copies. I want it moved. What do I have to config, or which key to press to achieve this? (Yes, I googled, but came up empty).
And cut/copy... not an option, since cut doesn't.
System is Ubuntu 9.10, if it's an Ubuntu thing.
I'd like to find a way to automatically move all the files from the Downloads folder to the trash. Ideally I'd like to trigger this with a keyboard short cut. How should I try this - Automator perhaps? Thanks!
Hi,
For some reason since we rolled out IE7 to the estate users are unable to download from the Internet, they get an error message "the operation could not be completed due to restrictions on the computer" I have checked the GPO and it allows downloads in the Default domain policy. I am I missing something in GPO or is this problem with IE7.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers
I have two internet connections - one via a 3G modem, and the other via wireless. The modem is faster so I normally browse with it, but it does not support torrent downloads while my wireless does. When the two are connected, my PC automatically makes every connection through the modem.
Is there a way I can force a particular program, eg. uTorrent to browse through my wireless internet connection instead?
Thanks.
So when I download something like firefox, there is a icon on the desktop.
after installing it, the icon is still there. if i delete the icon, i have to go back to downloads and click on the .dmg and re-install it.
what am I missing here?
Has anybody ever seen any (no-installs-necessary) solutions to listing any RSS feed on any page of a website? Ideally it would consist of HTML (javascript if necessary) and require no downloads or installs. I am thinking of twitter-style apps that you load up in an iframe or via Javascript and in turn they show your latest tweets on the page - same concept, different content.
Just looking for a shiny gadget, not able to write my own solution for this particular project.
In BitTorent Statistics there is a field "Total Ratio" that is the ratio between total downloads and uploads.
i have heard that this ratio affects BitTorrent'ss performance. If the ratio is better then BitTorrent Network provides you services on priority. And If the ratio is down (less uploads) then the BitTorrent provides you services on average or below average priorities.
Is there something like that.....
Hello,
I have a file hosting site and I want to know what should be the apache log format/code to log records for only filesizes above 5mb that were served as download/output bandwidth
So log looks like this visitors_ip filepath(or filename) output bandwidth
One more thing data should be recorded ONLY FOR COMPLETED DOWNLOADS which I believe is checked through %X
I think output bandwidth is same as the filesize that was served as download if whole file is downloaded.
Thank You
I turn off all of my computers at night except for my server. I'd like to be able to have my torrent downloads run on my server, which won't be logged in, so I'm wondering if there are any clients that can run as a service.
I'm ideally looking for one that can be passed a path to a .torrent file and will begin downloading it (I'll write the program that will interact with it).
I'm looking to write a script that connects to an Exchange inbox (as me) and downloads messages. Is there any open source software out there to support me?
Thanks!
Hi,
I hope this is right place for this. I am currently running Joomla v1 with a file management component called Docman on a Bluehost server. Some users (particularly with slower download speeds) are experiencing partial file downloads with some of my larger files (~100MB).
I would like to keep the Joomla + Docman installation. Is there anything I can do to resolve this issue?
I would greatly appreciate any recommendations that you may have.
Thanks,
Knix
I have an application that downloads content from various sources. It relies on the "Content-Type" header being set on images. The majority of web-servers do this correctly but it appears Amazon S3 server is not setting the Content-Type.
I assume Amazon servers are configured correctly so what could be the problem? Are these images not uploaded correctly? Or should I not be relying on content type being set?
Example
Thanks

How do I find the GUID of any folder on my C:\ drive? I want my Windows Explorer on Windows 7 to open in a folder called "Temporary Downloads", and it seems I need the GUID to accomplish this.
Hi all,
I have a 64 bit windows 7 install (thru bootcamp) on my 17" macbook pro, with the bootcamp 3.0 drivers. Whenever i run the apple software update to install the 3.1 drivers, it downloads and installs them, then reboots, and when i've rebooted, it's still stuck on version 3.0 according to 'about boot camp' on the system tray icon. I've tried installing several times, it keeps happening.
Any ideas?
Thanks
We have a java application bundled as an applet or as webstart. The client java plugin caches the jar files on the client machine and downloads a new version if there is one.
Is it possible to deliver this jar files using a CDN? What are the issues involved? Which CDNs would work for jar delivery? Is this different from static content delivery like images or video?
I've got Chrome running on my Linux netbook, it's great and, unlike the Mac version, the 'Create Application Shortcut' option isn't greyed out.
So I created one for Gmail. The 'applications' get stored at ~/.local/share/applications but I haven't managed to launch it yet.
If I use Chrome in terminal
$ google-chrome ~/.local/share/applications/google-application-reallylong-randomname.thing
It opens the file in a new tab in Chrome and helpfully downloads it for me!
Anyone got application shortcuts working in Linux?
I am looking for a solution for copying all the files from a specific directory on the hard drive, to a specific directory on a USB memory device, once this device is connected.
I have a program that downloads podcast episodes for me.
I would like these files to be automatically moved (or at least copied) to my mp3 player once I connect it to the computer.
I have both windows xp and linux machines, so a solution for any of them will work for me.
Hi all,
Often (not always) when I open some folder (most of the times "Downloads" folder) Explorer freeze. The only thing I'm able to do is open the task manager ad kill the application that suddenly restart.
I tried to:
delete all files in folder (via cmd prompt)
delete the folder an create a new folder with the same name
This issue is driving me crazy, please help.
OS: Windows XP, Laptop: Dell Latitude D620
Within the last week, whenever I go to save a file from the internet when I save to "Documents" it doesn't show just what is in My Documents at the higher level, it shows all the contents of every sub-folder.
I haven't changed any settings- how can I get this back to normal (so that files of sub-folders are not shown when saving)?
I tried with both Chrome and IE so it's not the browser doing it.
The problem seems to only happen with My Documents, no other folders like Downloads etc.
I suspect that the most stressful to a HDD is being used as a target for downloading torrents.
I plan to get a new HDD and use the old one only for storing downloads in progress.
Is this true?
How much stress is there on an idle HDD?
If this is not natively-available, are their any add-ons that would show you downloads in descending/ascending order based on time left?
Do other browsers allow such displaying?
Once a user downloads a video created with the iPhone 3GS and then deletes it from the iPhone, that video cannot be uploaded back to the iPhone...according to Apple.
The videos are not treated as Photos and are not allowed to sync to and from the iPhone freely. Has anyone discovered a program or tweek that allows one to upload video to the iPhone?
Thanks.
