    I am working as python developer and i work with djnago. I also do some web scrapping and building spiders and bots. Now from there i want to make my move to Business intelligence. I just want to know how can i move into that field. because as companies are not going to hire me in that field directly , i just want to know how can i make transistions. I was thinking of first work as Database developer in sql and then i can see futher. But i want from you guys so that i can start learning that stuff so that i can chnage jobs keeping that in mind. here in my area there are plent of jobs in all area but i need to know hoe to transitio and what thing i should learn before making that transition. Here JObs are plenty so if i know my stuff , getting job is piece of cake becaus ethey don't ahve any persons. same jobs keep getting advertised for months and months

    Hey. I just formatted a Dell n5010 and installed Ubuntu 10.04. Now,when i try to access the Internet it doesn't find the available networks. Informations about it: My network is set to broadcast SSID; Already typed lspci, and it doesnt returns my wireless card; Tried installing windows drivers from fabricant cd usind diswrapper, but it says it cant complete the installation because it cant find some "Device" folder; I don't know what else to do, I switch the wireless button on/off and it just can't see any wireless connection, includin mine.     Windows Phone Developer Tools 7.1 Beta 2 was released on 6/29/2011. Are you ready for it? If not then let my guide help you get your system prepared and go through a few new features. Download links: Web Installer of Windows Phone 7.1 Beta 2 SDK ISO Image of Windows Phone 7.1 Beta 2 SDK - (723 MB) To get started you are going to need to remove the previous version of your Windows Phone Developer Tools 7.1 Beta 1.   This kicks off the process of uninstalling the Beta.   Once it is uninstalled then you are going to want to grab the bits from: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=26648. The only thing your interested in here is the vm_web2.exe.   Make sure before you start that Zune is not running or you will get this error message like this one and have to restart from scratch. Now just go through your normal Install Screens. It should be installed and ready to go: A couple of things to note: 1) When creating a new phone application you now have several new templates to choose from as shown below. I welcome this addition because I’m a firm believer that we need more templates in order to get more people started. 2) Once you select an application template you can now pick which version of the Windows Phone platform that you wish to target: 3) If you created a WP7 7.1 Beta 1 project that it will still work properly in WP7 7.1 Beta 2. 4) You now have access to the search app icon. Once pressed then you will see something like this: 5) Under Settings –> Applications. You now have background tasks. 6) You will notice that the Web Browser looks a little different with the URL now located at the bottom of the screen and completely removing the “add”, “favorites” and “tabs” icon. Everything went well, it last for over a hours, and at the end they ask me to send code simple and a portfolio, but in my research about the company and their products I found a PHP error(bug) in their app. Should I tell them or I would that make me look like a total jerk and blow my chance for a interview? I know it might sound stupid. As a junior developer I did 2 interviews they didn't go so well. I am very interested in this position part of my question is like a big lack of confidence so to make it short should I tell them about where is the error and how to fix it? Thanks

  • svn vs git for the sole developer? [closed]

    If I am sole developer (I do not work in a team) working from my laptop (Windows OS and Linux VM) and backing up data to the cloud (Dropbox etc), then is git still better than svn for my version control needs? I was thinking not since I wont need any of git's distributed features. But is git such a better approach to version control that I should consider moving anyway? With so many articles saying how people are moving from svn to git? I was wondering, if they are talking about large or open projects with teams of developers vs the sole developer. What do you think?

  • Web Developer Portfolio - Role Definition

    I'm just putting together a portfolio that lists all the websites I have developed / worked on during the past year. Now this has become quite a long list - simply because 60% of the websites I have listed are ones where I have developed certain sections of the site, or maybe re-developed a certain section of an existing site - but not actually developed the whole site. So basically you could say I made a 20-50% contribution on those particular sites. I don't want to give the false impression to a potential employer that I have actually fully developed all the sites listed on my portfolio. Therefore I am after a neat way to indicate this fact. On the websites that I have fully developed, I have put a small label next to the name which reads "Lead Developer". What would be the equivalent label to put on the sites I have partially developed, or projects where I have been amongst multiple people developing? I suppose what I'm asking is, how would you define, in 2-3 words a non-lead developer role within a project?

  • Working on a virtual machine as a developer

    In the company I'm currently working in, they decided that each developer will move to a VM desktop (Citrix/WinServer2012) an develop/test from there with restricted/no rights to install new software. The Server we will be working on are in a remote Datacenter. So i.e. if for some reason or another the internet brake down, we can't work till the connection is up again. As a developer I don't want to use windows as OS for my working/development environment as there is no need because we don't develop OS specific software. What good points could I raise in an argumentation against moving to the VMs beside the loss/restriction of freedom and the loss of connection to the internet?

  • What is the difference between these Pentium Extreme Edition CPUs?

    The CPU in question is the Pentium Extreme Edition 955. Intel's website shows four "versions", but for the most part they all look identical. They even share the same set of ordering codes. But one of them has a substantially lower TDP, which is seemingly unexplainable - since everything else is the same. Two of them say "LGA775, Tray" and I have no idea what "Tray" means either. Also, two of them have a different SPEC code. What I need to know is: What does "LGA775, Tray" mean? Why does the one CPU have a lower TDP? And what does that mean for me? Does that mean lower maximum power consumption? Does it mean the CPU may be more stable/endurant, because of a lower heat output? Why do two of them have a different SPEC code, and what does this mean? Finally, what does PLGA775 (as opposed to LGA775) mean, and do I need to be worried about that?   • How do I require use of the 5 GHz band when connecting to a Wireless N access point?

    What is says in the topic: there's a Wireless N access point to which I'd like to connect using the 5 GHz band exclusively. How does one accomplish this? Using the directive band=a in the connection configuration file in /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections doesn't seem to affect anything (/var/log/syslog still shows attempts by wpa_supplicant to connect using the 2.4 GHz band), and running iwconfig wlan0 freq 5G per this question results in the following error: Error for wireless request "Set Frequency" (8B04) : SET failed on device wlan0 ; Invalid argument.
