• Evoluent Vertical Mouse - Re-mapping Buttons?

  I have the Evoluent Vertical Mouse at work and at home. One is wired, the other wireless. Ubuntu maps their buttons differently and it makes me crazy when I switch locations. I use 12.10, but same has applied to every Ubuntu version since 9.10. The wired mouse is as desired: top finger button is left-click, scroll wheel is middle click and scroll, middle finger button is a right-click. On the wireless version, bottom finger button is mapped to right-click and the middle finger button is center-click. I tried tinkering with these instructions, but wound up unable to boot to GUI... had to delete the .conf file to recover: http://denishaine.wordpress.com/2011/12/01/evoluent-mouse-with-ubuntu-11-04-and-11-10/ Help?

• Countour Mapping API

  I have done some searching on Google, but haven't come up with much as of yet. I am wanting to take a set of point data, which I had previously been using to create weighted points for a heat map through the Google API, and turn them into a contour map to overlay on the Google Maps API. I haven't seen anything in Google's code that would let me do this. Does anyone know of a good API to create such an overlay? Or is there possibly something I have overlooked that Google offers?

  First of all sorry my punctuation will be bad. its hard to type when keys are not doing what you expect. Eg it keeps scaring the **** out of me by taking a screen shot when I push the up arrow lolol So anyways, I broke a key on my keyboard and used xkeycaps to remap it to an unused key which worked. But then I realized it screwed up other keys... I think this is the program I used http://www.jwz.org/xkeycaps/man.html And then after doing the modifications I found out how to save them from the second answer in this question How to Map my enter key to a different key down where it says this "When you are happy with your current keymap and want to use it in future X-sessions, run the following command to save it: xmodmap -pke ~/.Xmodmap"

• Keeping the meshes "thickness" the same when scaling an object

  I've been bashing my head for the past couple of weeks trying to find a way to help me accomplish, on first look very easy task. So, I got this one object currently made out of 5 cuboids (2 sides, 1 top, 1 bottom, 1 back), this is just for an example, later on there will be whole range of different set ups. Now, the thing is when the user chooses to scale the whole object this is what should happen: X scale: top and bottom cuboids should get scaled by a scale factor, sides should get moved so they are positioned just like they were before(in this case at both ends of top and bottom cuboids), back should get scaled so it fits like before(if I simply scale it by a scale factor it will leave gaps on each side). Y scale: sides should get scaled by a scale factor, top and bottom cuboid should get moved, and back should also get scaled. Z scale: sides, top and bottom cuboids should get scaled, back should get moved. Hope you can help, EDIT: So, I've decided to explain the situation once more, this time more detailed(hopefully). I've also made some pictures of how the scaling should look like, where is the problem and the wrong way of scaling. I this example I will be using a thick walled box, with one face missing, where each wall is made by a cuboid(but later on there will be diffrent shapes of objects, where a one of the face might be roundish, or triangle or even under some angle), scaling will be 2x on X axis. 1.This is how the default object without any scaling applied looks like: http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/4293/defaulttz.png 2.If I scale the whole object(all of the meshes) by some scale factor, the problem becomes that the "thickness" of the object walls also change(which I do not want): http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/9073/wrongwaytoscale.png 3.This is how the correct scaling should look like.   I have an optimization problem. I'm using a look-up table to map a pixel in an image: for (uint32_t index = 0u; index < imgSize; index++) { img[ lt[ index ] ] = val; } Is there a faster way to do this, perhaps using a reinterpret_cast or something like that? I am accessing two different memory addresses, so what is the compiler doing? I still get the image access problem as it is accessing random address positions.

• CentOS drive mapping? [on hold]

  This is the first time I am posting on this particular StackExchange forum and I hope that I am using the right one for the present question. Briefly, this is what I need to do I am running a web service where users can, amongst other things, upload and store files on the server. What I want to do is to hive off user file storage to a different location so my server (CentOS 64 bit) can concentrate on what it does best - server side scripting and database management. As things stand all user files go into subdirectories in a folder called stash that lies above DOC_ROOT. What I would like to do is Transparently detect all attempts to read/write to stash/sub_folder and get/set file data on a remote server - ideally the latter would be one which replicates files like a CDN so they can be delivered from the closest/fastest location based on where the user's location. Even nicer would be if for all read accesses I could provide a URL that allows the user's browser to fetch the relevant file directly without having to funnel them via my server. I am a relative newbie when it comes to this sort of thing so I hope that I have phrased this question adequately well. From the little searching I done I gathered that WebDAV can be used to map drives to a different location on the web so perhaps that is a starting point. But if that will work I need to Establish how to get WebDAV up and running on my CentOS 64 bit server. Ideally, identify a service that allows this kind of file storage and provides an API I can use in my own scripting. I'd much appreciate any help with this.

Rather than fighting this, I will simply use any other key or key combination to trigger the screen capture functionality. Now, using the PRINT key is very intuitive because people already expect this behavior. What other keys are a good idea to use to take screenshots? And if possible elaborate why, have other apps/games used that key?

• What is the "Entity" reffering to in fluent Nhibernate Mapping Configuration?

  I am trying to learn fluent nhibernate better so am doing a basic sample application from scratch, instead of using someone elses framework. However, I am finding I really don't understand what is going on in assigning mapping files. I have seen a lot of code examples which are all showing the same code, but nothing that spells it out. No description of how it works just that it works. Here is a code example that I see often. return Fluently.Configure() .Database(config) .Mappings(m => m.FluentMappings.AddFromAssemblyOf<Entity>()) .BuildSessionFactory(); So in the code example what is Entity? and how does that piece of code work? Part of me thinks it is the name of the assembly, but seeing as how the namespace I am using is usually the name of the assembly the compiler complains that I am using a namespace as a type. I feel this is important and am rather flustered by the fact I can't figure it out. Thanks

• XP Client for NFS failure dialog on startup, but drive mapping works

  I'm mounting an NFS share to some windows machines using the tools that come in the Services for UNIX Administration toolkit. I've set up the User Name Mapping service to use local passwd and group files. I had to manually start the User Name Mapping service, and then created an 'advanced map' from the XP machine's user to a uid that exists in on my NFS server, like so: Windows User: Matt Bennett UNIX Domain: PCNFS UNIX User: mattbennett UID: 10250 Primary: * I can map a network drive without any issues, and it correctly identifies the UID and GID to use, but when I reboot I get this message: "An error occurred while connecting to the NFS server. Make sure that the Client for NFS service has started. If the problem persists make sure Client for NFS service can communicate with User Name Mapping or PCNFS server." After dismissing the dialog, the machine finishes booting and the network drive is there in My Computer with the title "Disconnected Network Drive", but I can open it I can see the network share without a problem, and then it drops the 'disconnected' from its title. It seems like the services are starting in the wrong order or something, so the first attempt to connect fails but subsequent ones work as expected. There don't seem to be any symptoms apart from the dialog box, but obviously something's not quite right. What have I done wrong? Thanks, Matt.

I have two entities types: RunContainer parent entity type Run child entity type Run has a property Status, which is of type RunStatus, like so: public enum RunStatus { Created, Starting, // ... } public class Run { public int ContainerId { get; private set; } // ... public RunStatus Status { get; private set; } } RunContainer has a calculated property ActiveRunCount, like so: public class RunContainer { public int Id { get; private set; } // ... public int ActiveRunCount { get; private set; } } In the mapping for the RunContainer.ActiveRunCount property, I use the formula specification like so: <property name="ActiveRunCount" formula="(select count(r.Id) from Run r where r.ContainerId = Id and r.Status = 1)"/> My problem is that I refer to the RunStatus enum values in the formula by their respective numeric value, rather than the appropriate symbolic name. Can anyone tell me how can I use the symbolic name instead? Thanks.

• NHibernate mapping with optimistic-lock="version" and dynamic-update="true" is generating invalid up

  I have an entity "Group" with an assigned ID which is added to an aggregate in order to persist it. This causes an issue because NHibernate can't tell if it is new or existing. To remedy this issue, I changed the mapping to make the Group entity use optimistic locking on a sql timestamp version column. This caused a new issue. Group has a bag of sub objects. So when NHibernate flushes a new group to the database, it first creates the Group record in the Groups table, then inserts each of the sub objects, then does an update of the Group records to update the timestamp value. However, the sql that is generated to complete the update is invalid when the mapping is both dynamic-update="true" and optimistic-lock="version". If I remove the dynamic update part, everything gets updated during this update statement instead. This makes the statement valid, but rather unnecessary. Has anyone seen this issue before?   Is there a way to separate out the domain objects and mapping files into two separate projects? I would like to create one project called MyCompany.MyProduct.Core that contains my domain model, and another project that is called MyCompany.MYProduct.Data.Oracle that contains my Oracle data mappings. However, when I try to unit test this I get the following error message: Named query 'GetClients' not found.   Hi all, I've got a core data-based app for iPhone and I'm getting the following warning: objc[2472]: Class Property is implemented in both /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Notes.framework/Notes and /var/mobile/Applications/B69194FF-448F-48AD-A78D-DDB8935F/AmcCalc.app/AmcCalc. One of the two will be used. Which one is undefined. When I started working on this app back with SDK 3.0 I didn't get this error, so how do I deal with this? Thanks! Bjorn

  Hello, Im now developping one application in C# with Remoting objects and NHibernate. So here is a image explaining how my projects are divided. Views Layer This layer will be responsible for the users interface. This layer will always use the Controls Layer to create and edit objects; Control Layer This is my persistence layer, here Ill have all the NHibernate configuration. This is my critic point, because ListSingleton Project will have only my RemoteObject. (Here I have the App.config file) Models Layer Entity layer. Here I only have the entities classes and their respective mapping. I’ve done a test solution with no remoting and only with the projects of the Control and Model Layers. It was all working ok. Now that I added the Views Layer and set the solution to start with projects Client and Server (Client calls the Control Layer and this would do a try to persist a object) I’m getting a error at : Configuration cfg = new Configuration(); cfg.AddXmlFile("mapping/User.hbm.xml"); InnerException: {"Could not compile the mapping document: mapping/User.hbm.xml"} InnerException.InnerException: {"Could not find the dialect in the configuration"} StackTrace in the InnerException.InnerException " em NHibernate.Dialect.Dialect.GetDialect(IDictionary`2 props)\r\n em NHibernate.Cfg.Configuration.AddValidatedDocument(NamedXmlDocument doc)" But I know that there is no error in the mapping file because I used in my test application.
