  • HTML, JavaScript, and CSS in a NetBeans Platform Application

    - by Geertjan
    I broke down the code I used yesterday, to its absolute bare minimum, and then realized I'm not using HTML 5 at all: <html> <head> <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" type="text/css" media="all" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.6.3/jquery.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.8.16/jquery-ui.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="script.js"></script> </head> <body> <div id="logo"> </div> <div id="infobox"> <h2 id="statustext"/> </div> </body> </html> Here's the script.js file referred to above: $(function(){ var banana = $("#logo"); var statustext = $("#statustext"); var defaulttxt = "Drag the banana!"; var dragtxt = "Dragging the banana!"; statustext.text(defaulttxt); banana.draggable({ drag: function(event, ui){ statustext.text(dragtxt); }, stop: function(event, ui){ statustext.text(defaulttxt); } }); }); And here's the stylesheet: body { background:#3B4D61 repeat 0 0; margin:0; padding:0; } h2 { color:#D1D8DF; display:block; font:bold 15px/10px Tahoma, Helvetica, Arial, Sans-Serif; text-align:center; } #infobox { position:absolute; width:300px; bottom:20px; left:50%; margin-left:-150px; padding:0 20px; background:rgba(0,0,0,0.5); -webkit-border-radius:15px; -moz-border-radius:15px; border-radius:15px; z-index:999; } #logo { position:absolute; width:450px; height:150px; top:40%; left: 30%; background:url(bananas.png) no-repeat 0 0; cursor:move; z-index:700; } However, I've replaced the content of the HTML file with a few of the samples from here, without any problem; in other words, if the HTML 5 canvas were to be needed, it could seamlessly be incorporated into my NetBeans Platform application: https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Canvas_tutorial/Basic_usage

She talks about installers now being standardized in Oracle for greater consistency -- no more WebLogic native installers. Also, JDK is no longer a part of the WebLogic install. The various installers she discusses include OUI, ZIP, OEPE, Coherence and more. Monica then takes us through a step by step install process. After the install process is complete the video takes us through the configuration wizard. The ZIP installer is then discussed and its effectiveness, such as it being the smallest downloadable option, easy, and very popular with our customers and limitations (such as for development only and not to be used in production) highlighted. Monica then takes us through the configuration wizard, its usage, and when to use WLST scripts. The video then discusses NodeManager and its usage and discusses how to reconfigure a WebLogic domain on upgrade – through our GUI tools or through command line interface. Lastly, it highlights Opatch – a patch application tool used by our customers and standardized across all Oracle products. Really detailed video. • CSS overflow: hidden; does not work

    - by kapil.israni
    Hi - I am having issues with overflow: hidden not working in my case. I have a div id=ticker which basically works like a scrolling ticker. something like this - http://www.tinymassive.com/ (whats happening section). So i am prepending dynamic content to div id=ticker The div id=ticker is contained in another div which is contained in another div, basically think of it like 4-5 level tree like structure body - div[id=wrapper] - div[class=main] - div[class=content] - div[class=frame] - div[class=bg] - div[class=primary-content] - div[id=ticker] Heres the css... #wrapper { width: 942px; margin: 0 auto; position:relative; overflow:hidden; } .main{ width:942px; margin:163px 0 0; overflow:hidden; } .content{ background:url(../images/content-bg.gif) repeat-y; overflow:hidden; width:662px; float:left; } .frame{ background:url(../images/frame-bg.gif) no-repeat 0 0; width:662px; } .bg{ background:url(../images/bg-bg.gif) no-repeat 0 100%; width:662px; overflow:hidden; } .primary-content{ padding: 12px 20px 40px 22px; width:620px; overflow:hidden; } #ticker { overflow: hidden; } Also if it helps - the ticker div contains a list of div[class=breadcrumps], which i am trying to scroll .breadcrumbs{ border-bottom:1px solid #ebebeb; padding:6px 0 6px 0; overflow:hidden; clear:both; } What i see is - when i prepend breadcrumps div to ticker, the page/ticker list keeps getting bigger :( Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • Title Background Wrapping

    - by laxj11
    Ok, I am pretty experienced at CSS but at this point I am at a loss. I layed out how I want the title to look like in photoshop: however, the closest I can approach it with css is: I need the black background to extend to the edges of the image and padding on the right side of the title. I hope you understand my question! thanks. here is the html: <div class="glossary_image"> <img src="<?php echo $custom_fields['image'][0]; ?>" /> <div class="title"> <h2><?php the_title(); ?></h2> </div> </div> and the css: .glossary_image { position: relative; height: 300px; width: 300px; margin-top:10px; margin-bottom: 10px; } .glossary_image .title { position: absolute; bottom: 0; left: 0; padding: 10px; } .glossary_image .title h2 { display: inline; font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 30px; font-weight:bold; line-height: 35px; color: #fff; text-transform:uppercase; background: #000; }

  • Jquery.Cycle and IE7 including next Div

    - by Aklobem
    Hi All, I'd really appreciate if someone could help me with a strange problem with Jquery.cycle. I've added jquery.cycle (verson 2.72) into a existing application (Prestashop) to slideshow a number of images. On Firefox, Mozilla etc it works brilliantly - on IE7 a bizarre problem occurs. The problem is where I have a and say 6 pictures a couple of to break things up then another content and IE includes the "editorial" into the slideshow. The "editorial" block is removed from the page, and appears as the last slide in the slideshow, located in the top left corner. Additional facts: jquery-1.2.6 is in use for the rest of the application (I've tried to upgrade it and all I get is the same behaviour with lots of other things breaking). I've tried jquery.cycle.lite - same behaviour. css: root { display: block; } .pics { height: 432px; width: 432px; padding: 0; margin: 0; } .pics img { padding: 15px; border: 1px solid #ccc; background-color: #eee; width: 400px; height: 400px; top: 0; left: 0 } div.pics { margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; } snippet: $(document).ready(function() { $('.pics').cycle({ fx: 'fade', pause: 100, cleartype: 1 }); }); img source img source img source img source

  • How can I line up WPF items in a Horizontal WrapPanel so they line up based on an arbitrary vertical

    - by Scott Whitlock
    I'm trying to create a View in WPF and having a hard time figuring out how to set it up. Here's what I'm trying to build: My ViewModel exposes an IEnumerable property called Items Each item is an event on a timeline, and each one implements ITimelineItem The ViewModel for each item has it's own DataTemplate to to display it I want to display all the items on the timeline connected by a line. I'm thinking a WrapPanel inside of a ListView would work well for this. However, the height of each item will vary depending on the information it displays. Some items will have graphic objects right on the line (like a circle or a diamond, or whatever), and some have annotations above or below the line. So it seems complicated to me. It seems that each item on the timeline has to render its own segment of the line. That's fine. But the distance between the top of the item to the line (and the bottom of the item to the line) could vary. If one item has the line 50 px down from the top and the next item has the line 100 px down from the top, then the first item needs 50 px of padding so that the line segments add up. I think I could solve that problem, however, we only need to add padding if these two items are on the same line in the WrapPanel! Let's say there are 5 items and only room on the screen for 3 across... the WrapPanel will put the other two on the next line. That's ok, but that means only the first 3 need to pad together, and the last 2 need to pad together. This is what's giving me a headache. Is there another approach I could look at?

  • css: Cross-browser, reflowing, top-to-bottom, multi-column lists

    - by Sai Emrys
    See http://cssfingerprint.com/about#stats. See also http://stackoverflow.com/questions/933645/multi-column-css-lists. I want a multi-column list that: uses no JS reflows on window size makes as many columns as fit the enclosing element therefore, does not require batching the list into manual column groups works in all browsers works for an arbitrary number of unknown-width (but single-line-height) elements makes each column fit the width of its (dynamic) contents does not create scrollbars or other overflow issues is sorted top to bottom where possible My code is currently: ul.multi, ol.multi { width: 100%; margin: 0; padding: 0; list-style: none; -moz-column-width: 12em; -webkit-column-width: 12em; column-width: 12em; -moz-column-gap: 1em; -webkit-column-gap: 1em; column-gap: 1em; } ul.multi li, ol.multi li { <!--[if IE]> float: left; <![endif]--> width: 20em; margin: 0; padding: 0; } Although this works okay, it has some problems: I have to guess the content width it is right-to-left in IE (though this is acceptable as a graceful degradation mode) it won't work at all in non-IE, non-Moz/Webkit/CSS3 browsers How can this be improved?

  • Javascript menu that hovers over initial element

    - by TenJack
    I'm trying to build a javascript menu using prototype that when you mouseover an element, that element is hidden and a bigger element is shown in its place that closes onmouseout. This is what I have so far to give you an idea, but it doesn't work and is buggy. I'm not sure what the best general approach is: EDIT: using the prototype refactor from remi bourgarel: function socialMenuInit(){ var social_menu = $('sociable_menu'); social_menu.hide(); var share_words = $('share_words'); Event.observe(share_words,"mouseover",function(){ share_words.hide(); social_menu.show(); }); Event.observe(social_menu,"mouseout",function(){ social_menu.hide(); share_words.show(); }); } EDIT: The main problem now is that the second bigger menu(social_menu) that is shown on top of the smaller mouseover triggering element(share_words) only closes when you mouseout the smaller trigger element even though this element is hidden. EDIT: This is the html and css I am using: <div id="share_words">share</div> <div id="sociable_menu"></div> #share_words{ display: none; border: 1px solid white; position: absolute; right: 320px; top:0px; padding: 4px; background-image: url('/images/icons/group.png'); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position:7px 6px; text-indent:26px; color: white; z-index: 15; } #sociable_menu{ border: 1px solid black; padding: 5px; position: absolute; right: 275px; top: -10px; z-index: 20; } Thanks for any help.

  • Eliminate horizontal scrolling in div in favor of horizontal scrolling in browser window

    - by Casey Flynn
    I have a div, set to 800px wide, that will automatically scroll horizontally if the browser window is resized to < 800px. The behavior I would like, is to have the browser window scroll instead of the div. It would seem simple but for some reason I'm getting hung up on it. Any ideas? The page in question: http://www.caseyflynn.com/game/ The div CSS: div#main_container { border: 1px solid #FFF; width:800px; margin-left:auto; margin-right:auto; padding:0px; background-color:#FFF; overflow:hidden; } The BODY CSS: html, body { background-color:#000; border:0px; margin:0px; padding:0px; font-family : Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size : 62.5%; overflow:auto; } I'm assuming anyone looking at this will have the ability to see the HTML and the CSS. Thanks!

  • extjs - 'Store is undefined'

    - by Jamie
    Hi all, I'm pretty sure this a trivial problem and i'm just being a bit stupid. Your help would be hugely appreciated. In controls/dashboard.js I have: Ext.ill.WCSS.controls.dashboard = { xtype:'portal', region:'center', margins:'35 5 5 0', items:[{ columnWidth: 1, style:'padding:10px', items:[{ title: 'My Cluster Jobs', layout:'fit', html: "test" }] },{ columnWidth: 1, style:'padding:10px', items:[{ title: 'All Cluster Jobs', iconCls: 'icon-queue', html: "test", items: new Ext.grid.GridPanel({ title: 'Cluster Job Queue', store: Ext.ill.WCSS.stores.dashboardClusterJobs, width: 791, height: 333, frame: true, loadMask: true, stateful: false, autoHeight: true, stripeRows: true, floating: false, footer: false, collapsible: false, animCollapse: false, titleCollapse: false, columns:[ { xtype: 'gridcolumn', header: 'Job ID', sortable: true, resizable: true, width: 100, dataIndex: 'JB_job_number', fixed: false }, { xtype: 'gridcolumn', header: 'Priority', sortable: true, resizable: true, width: 100, dataIndex: 'JAT_prio', fixed: false }, { xtype: 'gridcolumn', header: 'User', sortable: true, resizable: true, width: 100, dataIndex: 'JB_owner' }, { xtype: 'gridcolumn', header: 'State', sortable: true, resizable: true, width: 100, dataIndex: 'state' }, { xtype: 'gridcolumn', header: 'Date Submitted', sortable: true, resizable: true, width: 100, dataIndex: 'JAT_start_time' }, { xtype: 'gridcolumn', header: 'Queue', sortable: true, resizable: true, width: 100, dataIndex: 'queue_name' }, { xtype: 'gridcolumn', header: 'CPUs', sortable: true, resizable: true, width: 100, dataIndex: 'slots' } ], bbar: { xtype: 'paging', store: 'storeClusterQueue', displayInfo: true, refreshText: 'Retrieving queue status...', emptyMsg: 'No jobs to retrieve', id: 'clusterQueuePaging' } }) }] }] }; Simple enough, note the reference to 'Ext.ill.WCSS.stores.dashboardClusterJobs' So in stores/dashboard.js I just have this: Ext.ill.WCSS.stores.dashboardClusterJobs = new Ext.data.XmlStore({ storeId: 'storeClusterJobs', record: 'job_list', autoLoad: true, url: 'joblist.xml', idPath: 'job_info', remoteSort: false, fields: [ { name: 'JB_job_number' }, { name: 'JAT_prio' }, { name: 'JB_name' }, { name: 'JB_owner' }, { name: 'state' }, { name: 'JAT_start_time' }, { name: 'slots' }, { name: 'queue_name' } ] }); I run the code and I get 'store is undefined' :S It's confusing me a lot. All of the javascripts have been included in the correct order. i.e. <script type="text/javascript" src="/js/portal.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="/js/stores/dashboard.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="/js/controls/dashboard.js"></script> Thanks guys!

  • Questions on usages of sizeof

    - by Appu
    Question 1 I have a struct like, struct foo { int a; char c; }; When I say sizeof(foo), i am getting 8 on my machine. As per my understanding, 4 bytes for int, 1 byte for char and 3 bytes for padding. Is that correct? Given a struct like the above, how will I find out how many bytes will be added as padding? Question 2 I am aware that sizeof can be used to calculate the size of an array. Mostly I have seen the usage like (foos is an array of foo) sizeof(foos)/sizeof(*foos) But I found that the following will also give same result. sizeof(foos) / sizeof(foo) Is there any difference in these two? Which one is preffered? Question 3 Consider the following statement. foo foos[] = {10,20,30}; When I do sizeof(foos) / sizeof(*foos), it gives 2. But the array has 3 elements. If I change the statement to foo foos[] = {{10},{20},{30}}; it gives correct result 3. Why is this happening? Any thoughts..
