  • Get the size of a Silverlight window

    - by Aidenn
    Hey! I'm creating a Silverlight 4 Out Of Browser application. I have my MainPage that will be the "central" application. I want to be able to display another Control next to the MainPage, by using a Popup and I want it to be displayed right next to the MainPage. How can I get the coordinates of the upper right corner of the MainPage at each moment? (Beware that this MainPage can be moved all over the screen and hence I will need to dynamically get the corner coordinates, in order to display my popup right next to the main window). Any thoughts on this? Thank you!! PS: the code is in C# :-)

  • In jquery Set a delay to fade out or fadeout right away on click

    - by JClu
    I am trying to right a script for a notification popup. I wan't the popup to fade out after X seconds or fadeout when the user clicks on the message. I can get both effects to work individually but when I try to combine them fadeOut works. This is my code so far: function notify(data, type) { switch(type) { case "success": $('#notify').html(data) .removeAttr("style") .addClass('notifySuccess') .click(function() { $("#notify").fadeOut(); }) .delay(5000).fadeOut(); break; case "error": $('#notify').html(data) .removeAttr("style") .addClass('notifyFailure') .click(function() { $("#notify").fadeOut(); }) .delay(5000).fadeOut(); break; } }

  • Best way to ask confirmation from user before leaving the page

    - by JohnathanKong
    Hey Everyone, I am currently building a registration page where if the user leaves, I want to pop up a CSS box asking him if he is sure or not. I can accomplish this feat using confirm boxes, but the client says that they are too ugly. I've tried using unload and beforeunload, but both cannot stop the page from being redirected. Using those to events, I return false, so maybe there's a way to cancel other than returning false? Another solution that I've had was redirecting them to another page that has my popup, but the problem with that is that if they do want to leave the page, and it wasn't a mistake, they lose the page they were originally trying to go to. If I was a user, that would irritate me. The last solution was real popup window. The only thing I don't like about that is that the main winow will have their destination page while the pop will have my page. In my opinion it looks disjoint. On top of that, I'd be worried about popup blockers. Just to add to everyones comments. I understand that it is irritating to prevent users from exiting the page, and in my opinion it should not be done. Right now I am using a confirm box at this point. What happens is that it's not actually "preventing" the user from leaving, what the client actually wants to do is make a suggestion if the user is having doubts about registering. If the user is halfway through the registraiton process and leaves for some reason, the client wants to offer the user a free coupon to a seminar (this client is selling seminars) to hopefully persuade the user to register. The client is under the impression that since the user is already on the form, he is thinking of registering, and therefore maybe a seminar of what he is registering for would be the final push to get the user to register. Ideally I don't have to prevent the user from leaving, what would be just as good, and in my opinion better is if I can pause the unload process. Maybe a sleep command? I don't really have to keep the user on the page because either way they will be leaving to go to a different page. Also, as people have stated, this is a terriable title, so if someone knows a better one, I'd really appreciate it if they could change the title to something no so spammer inviting.

    - by user1469133
    I'm trying to get prettyPhoto or some other jquery plugin to work after I append new element to the HTML page: to be specific I have this: $(document).ready(function() { $(window).scroll(function() { if($(window).scroll) { $('div#loadMoreComments').show(); $.ajax({ type : "POST", url : "getvariables.php", dataType: "json", data : { webid: $(".posts:last").attr('id') } }).done(function( msg ) { jQuery.each(msg , function(index, value){ $("#posts").append(value); }); // $("#posts").append(msg); $('div#loadmore').hide(); }); } }); }); Then I have something like this that has to trigger the popup <p><a href="#inline-1" rel="ibox">Trigger popup.</a></p> <div id="inline-1" style="display: none;"> Content to show up after the link is triggered </div> Will appreciate any help over this. Thanks.

  • Why does my ConfirmButtonExtender cause full postbacks after I've toggled its parent usercontrol's v

    - by zk812
    Hello all, I have a series of usercontrols on a page that are displayed based on a selection. Each usercontrol contains a Delete button with a ConfirmButton/ModalPopupExtender combo attached to it. This works great when first loading any of the usercontrols--clicking delete shows my Confirm Modal popup and hitting yes or no causes an async postback to perform the operation. But if I move away from the usercontrol and come back to it, the Confirm Modal Popup appears but clicking yes or no now causes a full postback (the operation does still take place). Why does changing the visible property cause this?

  • How to disable EditText box in Android when using LongClick Listener

    - by user1443051
    I have EditText box which has focusable and focusableontouch enabled and all the rest are disabled in XML. The problem I am facing is that on longclick on this text box the selectAll and select pop up comes up - I would like to disable it and at the same time use the OnlongClick Funtion too.. So I tried android:longClickable="false" on XML and set the text box using LongClick listener in java Something like this: edEmailId.setOnLongClickListener(myOnLongClickListener); Didn't work I am still getting selectALL popup window. Is LongClickable in XML and SetOnlongClicklistener the same? If so how do I disable the popup? Awaiting your response! Thanks!

  • Implement a top level window from a broadcast receiver

    - by kwatts
    I have a broadcast receiver that listens for incoming calls, then displays a popup. The popup is a dialog type of theme and has FLAG_NOT_FOCUSABLE and FLAG_NOT_TOUCHABLE - basically, it's an informational window that goes away after x seconds, and is not meant to interfere or take focus over anything else. The issue is that the incoming call intent, built into android, is getting the broadcast after my intent. This is causing that window to be stacked in front of mine. How to I get my window to always be on top? Thanks!

  • How can I use a variable as a jQuery option value?

    - by mattgorecki
    I currently have jQuery code that looks like this: if ($.url.param("s") == "error") { $.gritter.add({ title: 'Error!', text: $.url.param('message') }); } I'm checking to see if the request variable s exists in the url (ie. http://example.com/?s=error&message=this%20is%20my%20message and then showing a popup message that contains information from request variable message. The popup works just fine, but the message variable isn't populated, the plugin asks for a string as a value for the text option. What is the proper way to grab the message variable?

  • How to Add Proprietary Drivers to Ubuntu 10.04

    - by Matthew Guay
    Does the hardware on your Ubuntu system need proprietary drivers work at peak performance?  Today we take a look how easy version 10.04 makes it to install them. Ubuntu 10.04 finally automatically recognizes and installs drivers for most hardware today, it even recognized and configured Wi-Fi drivers correctly every time in our tests.  This is in contrast to the past, when it was often difficult to get hardware to work in Linux.  However, most video cards still need proprietary drivers from their manufacturer to get full hardware video acceleration. Even though Ubuntu doesn’t include any non-open source components, it still makes it easy to install proprietary drivers if you wish.  When you first install and boot into Ubuntu, you may see a popup informing you that “restricted” drivers are available. You may see a notification asking you if you’d like to install optional drivers from your graphics card manufacturer when you try to enable advanced desktop effects.  Click Enable to directly install the drivers right there. Or, you can select the tray icon from the first popup, and click Install drivers. Alternately, if the tray icon has disappeared, click System, then Administration, and select Hardware Drivers.   This will open a dialog showing all the proprietary drivers available for your system, which may include drivers for your video card and other hardware depending on your computer.  Select the driver you wish to install, and click Activate. Enter your password, and then Ubuntu will download and install the driver without any more input.  After installation you may be prompted to reboot your system. Now, you should be able to take full advantage of your hardware, including fancy desktop effects with hardware acceleration. If you ever wish to remove these drivers, simply re-open the drivers dialog as above, select the driver, and click Remove.  Once again, a reboot may be required to finish the process. Conclusion Ubuntu has definitely made it easier to use Linux on your desktop computer, no matter what hardware you have.  If your video card or other hardware require proprietary drivers, it makes them available and simple to install.  And, best of all, all of your drivers stay updated with your software updates, so you can be sure you’re always running the latest. • Using dnnModal.show in your modules and content

    - by Chris Hammond
    One thing that was added in DotNetNuke 6 but hasn’t been covered in great detail is a method called dnnModal.show. Calling this method is fairly straight forward depending on your need, but before we get into how to call/use the method, let’s talk about what it does first. dnnModal.show is a method that gets called via JavaScript and allows you to load up a URL into a modal popup window within your DotNetNuke site. Basically it will take that URL and load it into an IFrame within the current DotNetNuke...(read more)

  • Open the LOV of af:inputListOfValues with a double click

    - by frank.nimphius
    To open the LOV popup of an af:inputListOfValues component in ADF Faces, you either click the magnifier icon to the right of the input field or tab onto the icon and press the Enter key. If you want to open the same dialog in response to a user double click into the LOV input field, JavaScript is a friend. For this solution, I assume you created an editable table or input form that is based on a View Object that contains at least one attribute that has a model driven list of values defined. The Default List Type is should be set to Input Text with List of Values so that when the form or table gets created, the attribute is rendered by the af:inputListOfValues component. To implement the use case, drag a Client Listener component from the Operations accordion in the Component Palette and drop it onto the af:inputListOfValues component in the page. In the opened Insert Client Listener dialog, define the Method as handleLovOnDblclickand choose dblClick in the select list for the Type attribute. Add the following code snippet to the page source directly below the af:document tag. <af:document id="d1">      <af:resource type="javascript">     function handleLovOnDblclick(evt){             var lovComp = evt.getSource();             if (lovComp instanceof AdfRichInputListOfValues &&          lovComp.getReadOnly()==false){           AdfLaunchPopupEvent.queue(lovComp,true);        }     }      </af:resource> The JavaScript function is called whenever the user clicks into the LOV field. It gets the source component reference from the event object that is passed into the function and verifies the LOV component is not read only. It then queues the launch event for the LOV popup to open. The page source for the LOV component is shown below: <af:inputListOfValues id="departmentIdId" … >   <f:validator binding="…"/>   …  <af:clientListener method="handleLovOnDblclick" type="dblClick"/> </af:inputListOfValues>

  • Enhance Your Browsing with Hyperwords in Firefox

    - by Asian Angel
    While browsing it is easy to find information that you would like to know more about, convert, or translate. The Hyperwords extension provides access to these types of resources and more in Firefox. Using Hyperwords Once the extension has finished installing you will be presented with a demo video that will let you learn more about how Hyperwords works. For our first example we chose to look for more information concerning “WASP-12b” using Wikipedia. Notice the small bluish circle on the lower right of the highlighted term…it is the default access for the Hyperwords menu (access by hovering mouse over it). If you hover over the the Wikipedia (or other) link you can access the information in a scrollable popup window. Or if you prefer click on the link to view the information in a new tab. Choose the style that best suits your needs. Hyperwords is extremely useful for quick unit conversions. Suppose you want to share a news story that you have found while browsing. Highlight the title, access Hyperwords, and choose your preferred sharing source. You may need to authorize access for Hyperwords to post to your account. Once you have authorized access you can start sharing those links very easily. This is just a small sampling of Hyperwords many useful features. Preferences Hyperwords has a nice set of preferences available to help you customize it. Alter the menu popup style, add or remove menu entries, and modify other functions for Hyperwords. Conclusion Hyperwords makes a nice addition to Firefox for anyone needing quick access to search, reference, translation, and other services while browsing. Thank you I want to display the said value in this input box: Here the JS file to read the values: function scanLapVerification() { try { var page_title = "Title"; var el = getElement(document, "class", "view-operator-verification-title", ""); if (!el || el.length == 0) return; if (el[0].innerText != page_title) return; var page_title = ''; var el = getElement(document, "class", "workflowActivityDetailPanel", ""); if (el && el.length > 0) { var eltr = getElement(el[0], "tag", "tr", ""); if (eltr && eltr.length > 0) { //Read Contract ID var contractId = { CI: { id: null } }; var con_id = null; for (var i = 0; i < eltr.length; i++) { tr_text = eltr[i].innerText; if (tr_text.substr(0, "Contract ID".length) == "Contract ID") con_id = "CI"; if (con_id && tr_text.substr(0, "Contract ID".length) == "Contract ID") { contractId[con_id].id = tr_text.substr("Contract ID".length + 1, tr_text.length - "Contract ID".length - 1); } } var contract_id = contractId.CI.id; return { content: "cid_check", con_id: con_id }; } return { status: "KO" }; } catch (e) { alert("Exception: scanLapVerification\n" + e.Description); return { status: "KO", message: e }; } }; And here's the 2nd JS that display to a new html page: function scanLapVerification() { chrome.tabs.sendRequest(tabLapVerification, { method: "scanLapVerification" }, function (response) { msgbox("receiveResponse: scanLapVerification " + jsonToString(response, "JSON")); //maintaining state in the background if (response.data.content == "cid_check") { //Popup window features var popupWindow = null; var name; var width = 550; var height = 200; var left = parseInt((screen.availWidth / 2) - (width / 2)); var top = parseInt((screen.availHeight / 2) - (height / 2)); var windowFeatures = "width=" + width + ",height=" + height + ",left=" + left + ",top=" + top + "screenX=" + left + ",screenY=" + top; //Input new address with popup window if (confirm("Does the client has new address?") == true) { popupWindow = window.open('/htmlname.htm', "title", windowFeatures + encodeURIComponent(response.data.contract_id)); popupWindow.focus(); } else { name = ""; } }); }

  • Drupal setup for proofreaders - "Revision Moderation"

    - by Olav
    I would like to have external proofreaders to work directly inside my Drupal site. Basically they should be able to create new revisions, annotate, comment etc without affecting what users see without my approval. Particularly the node might already be public. "Revision Moderation" module sounds a bit like what I want, but it seems not to be so much used, and I run into other modules like "Workflow". What is important for me: Possibility to work on content already published Easy for the proofreader, easy for me to direct her to the right location Other useful features such as comments (Like those balloons in Word), diffs etc (I guess I could work around (1) by copying the content)
