  • What do you miss from classic-asp days that is not available in asp.net ?

    Many of us have come from classic-asp background and eventually picked up asp.net for better. But I miss many features from classic-asp that are not available in asp.net. Like, I don't get complete control over the markup renderred to the client in asp.net wherein in classic-asp it was possible. What are those features you miss from your classic-asp days ? PS: This question is tribute to original classic-asp that once ruled the world.

  • Apache tiles and body onload event. Known issue?

    We're prototyping a new visual framework using Apache Tiles for markup templating. Often the document onload event (actually prototype's dom:loaded event) is getting fired before all DOM objects are actually loaded Is it possible that the tiles templates are loading in an asynchronous fashion and therefore doing an end run around the event handler? Has anyone else had this experience? Can anyone share a robust workaround? thanks in advance

  • Jquery Modal Dialog disables form elements

    Hi, When I set my jQuery dialog to model=true, it disables my form elements inside the dialog and I cannot use them, only the buttons. I have seen examples where the contents of the dialog is declared in the dialog initiation script and then injected. but that is just to bulky for me, I want to be able to create my markup inside the DIV which I turn into a dialog. Anyone got a solution for me?

  • How do you embed XHTML into APT file when using Maven to generate a site?

    I am using maven to generate a website for a Java project, which uses APT "Almost Plain Text" as a wiki like markup. Maven takes this and turns it into XHTML. I already have a custom template/skin that I am using for the site, but the index page will have a couple of extra custom design elements that are beyond the capabilities of APT. So how can you add xhtml to the apt file so that it gets correctly embedded in the final output? Thanks.

  • IE6 Bug - Div within Anchor tag: inline images not links

    I'm trying to get everything in the anchor tag to be a clickable link. Unfortunately, in IE6 (which is the only browser I'm concerned with currently), the only thing that isn't a clickable link are the inline images. I know that it's not valid html to put a div inside of an anchor but it's not my markup and I've been asked to avoid changing it. Any suggestions to altering the CSS to enable the images as clickable links? If changing the markup is the only solution... any suggestions there? My initial thought was to set the image as a background of it's parent (.ph-item-featured-img), although I'm unclear if that will solve the problem.     I have a WPF application which runs perfectly fine on vista/7 but on Windows XP it chucks up the System.Windows.Markup.XamlParse error, and it's quite frustrating because I have a hell of a lot of controls in my application and I don't know what is causing the problem.   • Wicket WAR in Jetty: .html files not on classpath

    Hi, I deployed a Wicket-based app's .war file to Jetty 7.0.2. The problem is that Jetty copies the classpath to a temp dir, but only copies *.class, so *.html is not available for the classloader and I get the error: WicketMessage: Markup of type 'html' for component 'cz.dynawest.wicket.chat.ChatPage' not found. Copying the war as an expanded directory helped. Still, I am wondering how to configure Jetty to copy everything. And, with mvn jetty:run I get the same error. Thanks, Ondra

    I am way too indecisive. I have an idea for a (admittedly craptastic) GUI program, so I start writing it in C# .NET WinForms. Then like halfway through I'm like, damn I should have written this in Qt. So I start writing it in Qt and remember why I hate C++ STL iterators so much.   • Adding jQueryui Buttons to dynamically added content

    I have a list of items that have some jQueryUI buttons associated with them. After an action (deleting an item) I want to reload the list via ajax. Only problem is when I do so the JQueryUI buttons no longer show, just the standard markup. I know I can use jQuery.live() for dynamically adding click handlers etc, but how do I apply a jQueryUI button() to them?

    I have a table which may contains other inner tables (it's not possible to edit generated markup). I want to create a delegate function for row mouseenter and mouseleave which only triggers for the associated main table rows (and not inner tables rows), as following: $("#tableid").delegate("tr", "mouseenter mouseleave", function(e) { //do stuff here }); But with this selector it selects also the inner table rows, so how can I modify the selector to avoid selecting inner table rows?
