  • Save information from MS crash reporter?

    - by DGentry
    On Windows XP when a process crashes, we get a dialog box with a link: "To view technical information about the error report, click here." The "click here" link brings up a whole lot of information in a window, but no obvious way to save it to a file. Is there a way? It would be very nice to be able to send that data to several different external vendors we're working with. The only other option I see in the dialog box is to send it to Microsoft, but this crash is likely not Microsoft's fault and there is no reason to send it to them.

  • SQL - Link to more table information

    - by BioXhazard
    I have a datagrid with 3 of 5 fields from a SQL table. The first databound was changed to an asp:hyperlink so the field can be clicked. What I want to do is, when the user clicks an object in the field, it sends the ID to another page. From there, it uses the request in order to display the required information which is found in the same SQL table. For example: User clicks on a cell in the first column, it brings them to a page with more information on that cell.

  • Get ffmpeg information in friendly way

    - by JBernardo
    Every time I try to get some information about my video files with ffmpeg, it pukes a lot of useless information mixed with good things. I'm using ffmpeg -i name_of_the_video.mpg. There are any possibilities to get that in a friendly way? I mean JSON would be great (and even ugly XML is fine). By now, I made my application parse the data with regex but there are lots of nasty corners that appear on some specific video files. I fixed all that I encountered, but there may be more. I wanted something like: { "Stream 0": { "type": "Video", "codec": "h264", "resolution": "720x480" }, "Stream 1": { "type": "Audio", "bitrate": "128 kbps", "channels": 2 } }

  • MPNowPlayingInfoCenter defaultCenter will not update or retrieve information

    - by Jayson Lane
    I'm working to update the MPNowPlayingInfoCenter and having a bit of trouble. I've tried quite a bit to the point where I'm at a loss. The following is my code: self.audioPlayer.allowsAirPlay = NO; Class playingInfoCenter = NSClassFromString(@"MPNowPlayingInfoCenter"); if (playingInfoCenter) { NSMutableDictionary *songInfo = [[NSMutableDictionary alloc] init]; MPMediaItemArtwork *albumArt = [[MPMediaItemArtwork alloc] initWithImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"series_placeholder"]]; [songInfo setObject:thePodcast.title forKey:MPMediaItemPropertyTitle]; [songInfo setObject:thePodcast.author forKey:MPMediaItemPropertyArtist]; [songInfo setObject:@"NCC" forKey:MPMediaItemPropertyAlbumTitle]; [songInfo setObject:albumArt forKey:MPMediaItemPropertyArtwork]; [[MPNowPlayingInfoCenter defaultCenter] setNowPlayingInfo:songInfo]; } This isn't working, I've also tried: [[MPNowPlayingInfoCenter defaultCenter] setNowPlayingInfo:nil]; In an attempt to get it to remove the existing information from the iPod app (or whatever may have info there). In addition, just to see if I could find out the problem, I've tried retrieving the current information on app launch: NSDictionary *info = [[MPNowPlayingInfoCenter defaultCenter] nowPlayingInfo]; NSString *title = [info valueForKey:MPMediaItemPropertyTitle]; NSString *author = [info valueForKey:MPMediaItemPropertyArtist]; NSLog(@"Currently playing: %@ // %@", title, author); and I get Currently playing: (null) // (null) I've researched this quite a bit and the following articles explain it pretty thoroughly, however, I am still unable to get this working properly. Am I missing something? Would there be anything interfering with this? Is this a service something my app needs to register to access (didn't see this in any docs)? Apple's Docs Change lock screen background audio controls Now playing info ignored UPDATE: I've created a tutorial outlining how I was able to get this functioning properly: http://jaysonlane.net/tech-blog/2012/04/lock-screen-now-playing-with-mpnowplayinginfocenter/

  • Storing Data from both POST variables and GET parameters

    - by Ali
    I want my python script to simultaneously accept POST variables and query string variables from the web address. The script has code : form = cgi.FieldStorage() print form However, this only captures the post variables and no query variables from the web address. Is there a way to do this? Thanks, Ali

  • Storing image files, psd files, ai files, flash in subversion

    - by nishantcm
    Hi, Can I store large amounts of image files in subversion. My designers usually create these designs and store them anywhere on their pc and there's no system. Can I store the files in an svn repository. That way I can also protect my data against unauthorized access and its also easier to archive. What are your comments and is there any better way to do this? Thanks!

  • Conversion of bytes into a type without changing the application (ie storing the conversion method i

    - by geoaxis
    Is there a way to store a conversion strategy (for converting some bytes) into a database and then execute it on the run time. If one were to store a complete java file, you would need to compile it, store the class and some how inject into the already running system. I am not sure how this would be possible. But using some kind of dynamic language on JVM would be nice. I see an example of execution of groovy from within spring context here http://www.devx.com/tips/Tip/42789 but this is still static in nature as application context contains the reference to the implementation and cannot be changed by database. Perhaps with JavaConfig of context it is possible. I am exploring options now, specifically with Spring 3.0. Your suggestions in any direction would be welcome.

  • Logging IP address for uniqueness without storing the IP address itself for privacy

    - by szabgab
    In a web application when logging some data I'd like to make sure I can identify data that came at differetn times but from the same IP address. On the other hand for privacy concerns as the data will be released publicly I'd like to make sure the actual IP cannot be retrieved. So I need some one way mapping of the IP addresses to some other strings that ensures 1-1 mapping. If I understand correctly then MD5, SHA1 or SHA256 could be a solution. I wonder if they are not too expensive in terms of processing needed? I'd be interested in any solution though if there is implementation in Perl that would be even better.

  • System.Reflection and InvokeMember, storing type, assembly, and object in a class

    - by Cyclone
    I have tested code to call a method inside of a compiled DLL, and it works. I created a class to store the object, type, and loaded assembly, but something is lost in translation because it is unable to find the member I wish to invoke. If I create a type, object, and assembly, and properly load everything into these and perform InvokeMember on the type, it works just fine. However, when I use the things inside of my class, it throws a MissingMemberException and does not invoke the member, obviously. What am I doing wrong? The member in question is a subroutine which takes one argument, a string. This is quite frustrating. Code being called: Dim MyLoadedAssembly As New LoadedAssembly() MyLoadedAssembly.MyAssembly = Assembly.LoadFrom("display.dll") MyLoadedAssembly.MyObject = MyLoadedAssembly.MyAssembly.CreateInstance("Display.UI.Window") MyLoadedAssembly.MyType = MyLoadedAssembly.MyAssembly.GetType("Display.UI.Window") Dim args() As Object = {"test"} MyLoadedAssembly.InvokeMember("Show", args) Private Class LoadedAssembly Public MyType As Type Public MyObject As Object Public MyAssembly As Assembly Public Function InvokeMember(ByVal name As String, ByVal args() As Object) Return MyType.InvokeMember(name, BindingFlags.Default Or BindingFlags.InvokeMethod Or BindingFlags.GetProperty Or BindingFlags.Instance, Nothing, MyObject, args) End Function End Class Code inside of display.dll: Namespace UI Public Class Window Private wind As New System.Windows.Forms.Form Public FullScreen As Boolean = False Public Overloads Sub Show(ByVal text As String) wind.Show() wind.Text = text End Sub Public Overloads Sub Show() wind.Show() End Sub End Class End Namespace The root namespace for display.dll is Display. • Storing info in a PostgreSQl database issue

    - by MrEnder
    Ok I am making a registry for my website. First page asks for some personal info if($error==false) { $query = pg_query("INSERT INTO chatterlogins(firstName, lastName, gender, password, ageMonth, ageDay, ageYear, email, createDate) VALUES('$firstNameSignup', '$lastNameSignup', '$genderSignup', md5('$passwordSignup'), $monthSignup, $daySignup, $yearSignup, '$emailSignup', now());"); $query = pg_query("INSERT INTO chatterprofileinfo(email, lastLogin) VALUES('$emailSignup', now());"); $userNameSet = $emailSignup; $_SESSION['$userNameSet'] = $userNameSet; header('Location: signup_step2.php'.$rdruri); } The first query works. The second query works but doesn't save the email... the session doesn't work but the header works and sends me to the next page I get no errors even if I comment out header next page @session_start(); $conn = pg_connect("host=localhost dbname=brittains_db user=brittains password=XXXX" ); $signinCheck = false; $checkForm = ""; if(isset($_SESSION['$userName'])) { $userName = $_SESSION['$userName']; $signinCheck = true; $query = pg_query("UPDATE chatterprofileinfo SET lastLogin='now()' WHERE email='$userName'"); } if(isset($_SESSION['$userNameSet'])) { $userName = $_SESSION['$userNameSet']; $signinCheck = true; $query = pg_query("UPDATE chatterprofileinfo SET lastLogin='now()' WHERE email='$userName'"); } This is the top starting the session depending on if your logged in or not. then if I enter in the info here and put it through this if($error==false) { $query = pg_query("UPDATE chatterprofileinfo SET aboutSelf='$aboutSelf', hobbies='$hobbies', music='$music', tv='$tv', sports='$sports', lastLogin='now()' WHERE email='$userName'") or exit(pg_last_error()); //header('Location: signup_step3.php'.$rdruri); } nothing shows up for on my database from this.   • Storing objects in the array

    - by Ockonal
    Hello, I want to save boost signals objects in the map (association: signal name ? signal object). The signals signature is different, so the second type of map should be boost::any. map<string, any> mSignalAssociation; The question is how to store objects without defining type of new signal signature? typedef boost::signals2::signal<void (int KeyCode)> sigKeyPressed; mSignalAssociation.insert(make_pair("KeyPressed", sigKeyPressed())); // This is what I need: passing object without type definition mSignalAssociation["KeyPressed"] = (typename boost::signals2::signal<void (int KeyCode)>()); // One more trying which won't work. • Storing UTF8 string in a UnicodeString

    - by Mick
    In Delphi 2007 you can store a UTF8 string in a WideString and then pass that onto a Win32 function, e.g. var UnicodeStr: WideString; UTF8Str: WideString; begin UnicodeStr:='some unicode text'; UTF8Str:=UTF8Encode(UnicodeStr); Windows.SomeFunction(PWideChar(UTF8Str), ...) end; Delphi 2007 does not interfere with the contents of UTF8Str, i.e. it is left as a UTF8 encoded string stored in a WideString. But in Delphi 2010 I'm struggling to find a way to do the same thing, i.e. store a UTF8 encoded string in a WideString without it being automatically converted from UTF8. I cannot pass a pointer to UTF8 string (or RawByteString), e.g. the following will obviously not work: var UnicodeStr: WideString; UTF8Str: UTF8String; begin UnicodeStr:='some unicode text'; UTF8Str:=UTF8Encode(UnicodeStr); Windows.SomeFunction(PWideChar(UTF8Str), ...) end; Any help appreciated. Thanks.

  • Storing a digital signature for bookings on a web based system

    - by Duncan
    I have a web based bookings system built for a UK higher education client to allow students to sign out equipment (laptops, camera's etc). It's been in use successfully for a couple of years, in the current workflow equipment is collected and the booking is printed, signed by the student and kept until the equipment is returned. They are emailed a pdf copy of the booking and reminders if equipment is outstanding. Students can login and prebook equipment using their university LDAP credentials, the booking is then authorised by staff for later collection, but can also walk in and have equipment booked out by staff. They would like to remove the signed paper part of the process and replace this with some sort of digital signature. The suggestion was a graphics tablet but with a web based system this would require a local software package and in my view be impractical. My thought is that students would enter their LDAP username and password upon collection of the equipment, verifying their identity and effectively digitally signing the booking. My question is what would be best to store as a signature or whether to simply authenticate the user and use a boolean flag to indicate that this has been done could be deemed sufficient?

  • Storing data on SD Card in Android

    - by BBoom
    Using the guide at Android Developers (http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/data/data-storage.html) I've tried to store some data to the SD-Card. This is my code: // Path to write files to String path = Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory().getAbsolutePath() + "/Android/data/"+ctxt.getString(R.string.package_name)+"/files/"; String fname = "mytest.txt"; // Current state of the external media String extState = Environment.getExternalStorageState(); // External media can be written onto if (extState.equals(Environment.MEDIA_MOUNTED)) { try { // Make sure the path exists boolean exists = (new File(path)).exists(); if (!exists){ new File(path).mkdirs(); } // Open output stream FileOutputStream fOut = new FileOutputStream(path + fname); fOut.write("Test".getBytes()); // Close output stream fOut.flush(); fOut.close(); } catch (IOException ioe) { ioe.printStackTrace(); } When I create the new FileOutputStream I get a FileNotFound exception. I have also noticed that "mkdirs()" does not seem to create the directory. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I'm testing on an AVD with a 2GB sd card and "hw.sdCard: yes", the File Explorer of DDMS in Eclipse tells me that the only directory on the sdcard is "LOST.DIR".

  • Performance penalty of typecasting and boxing/unboxing types in C# when storing generic values

    - by kitsune
    I have a set-up similar to WPF's DependencyProperty and DependencyObject system. My properties however are generic. A BucketProperty has a static GlobalIndex (defined in BucketPropertyBase) which tracks all BucketProperties. A Bucket can have many BucketProperties of any type. A Bucket saves and gets the actual values of these BucketProperties... now my question is, how to deal with the storage of these values, and what is the penalty of using a typecasting when retrieving them? I currently use an array of BucketEntries that save the property values as simple objects. Is there any better way of saving and returning these values? Beneath is a simpliefied version: public class BucketProperty<T> : BucketPropertyBase { } public class Bucket { private BucketEntry[] _bucketEntries; public void SaveValue<T>(BucketProperty<T> property, T value) { SaveBucketEntry(property.GlobalIndex, value) } public T GetValue<T>(BucketProperty<T> property) { return (T)FindBucketEntry(property.GlobalIndex).Value; } } public class BucketEntry { private object _value; private uint _index; public BucketEntry(uint globalIndex, object value) { ... } }

    Is it possible to store something like the following using only one table? Right now, what hibernate will do is create two tables, one for Families and one for people. I would like for the familymembers object to be serialized into the column in the database. @Entity(name = "family") class Family{ private final List<Person> familyMembers; } class Person{ String firstName, lastName; int age; }

  • ADODB Connection String: Workgroup Information file is Missing?

    - by Mohgeroth
    I have a few data sources in access that I need to connect to programatically to do things with behind the scenes and keep visibility away from users. Said datasource has a password 'pass' as I'm going to call it here. Using this connection method I get an error attempting to use the open method Dim conn as ADODB.Connection Set ROBBERS.conn = New ADODB.Connection conn.open "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;" _ & "Data Source=\\pep-home\projects\billing\autobilling\DPBilling2.mdb;" _ & "Jet OLEDB:Database Password=pass;", "admin", "pass" "Cannot start your application. The workgroup information file is missing or opened exclusively by another user." Due to planning to move into 2007, we are not using nor have ever used a workgroup identification file through access. The database password on the data source was set through the Set Databa Password which had to be done on an exclusive open. Ive spent a good while changing around my connection options, where to put the passwords etc and either cannot find the right format, or (why I'm asking here) I think there may be some other unknown that I must setup to do this. Anyone out there got some useful information?

  • iPhone NSXMLParser parsing string and storing in a NSNumber variable and different data types

    - by anubhav
    Hi, I am trying to parse a XML File using NSXMLParser, I also have a Container class, in which I have a few instance variables. One of the elements that I am trying to parse in the XML is: <book sn="32.859669048339128" pn="-116.917800670489670"> I am trying to save the value of sn and pn in an instance variable of object Container: NSNumber *sn, NSNumber *pn. I want it so that when my parser get the attributeValues it can save it as a Double (or float) in those NSNumber pointers. Right now, all it does it just saves a string to the NSNumber. The Parser Code looks like this: if([elementName isEqualToString:@"book"]){ container = [[Container alloc] init]; container.sn=[attributeDict objectForKey:@"sn"]; container.pn=[attributeDict objectForKey:@"pn"]; } I want it so that the type of container.sn is initialized to a float or double. Any ideas how to do this? Thanks in advance!

    Apache Pig can load data from Hadoop sequence files using the PiggyBank SequenceFileLoader: REGISTER /home/hadoop/pig/contrib/piggybank/java/piggybank.jar; DEFINE SequenceFileLoader org.apache.pig.piggybank.storage.SequenceFileLoader(); log = LOAD '/data/logs' USING SequenceFileLoader AS (...) Is there also a library out there that would allow writing to Hadoop sequence files from Pig?

  • Storing file permissions in Subversion repository

    - by graham.reeds
    How do you store file permissions in a repository? A few files need to be read-only to stop a third party program from trashing it but after checking out of the repository they are set to read-write. I looked on google and found a blog post from 2005 that states that Subversion doesn't store file-permissions. There are patches and hook-scripts listed (only one url still exists). Three years later does Subversion still not store file permissions and are hooks the only way to go about this? (I've never done hooks and rather use something that is native to Subversion.)

    Untitled Document Don’t Take Chances with Alerts—Get Hot Topics When Oracle Support publishes an alert, how do you find out about it? I can see any number of ways you might stumble onto an alert that you need. For example, if you are visiting My Oracle Support in search of answers under the Knowledge tab and happen to notice, and click on, the Alert tab the under the Knowledge Article region, you might see an alert listed for one of the products you use. There are other ways… like subscribing to one of the Oracle Blogs and finding the alert in your RSS feed because the blogger decided to write up that topic for the latest post. I’m sure your colleagues sometimes pass on critical alerts for your products, I hope, giving you the information before you needed it. Well, no matter how you learn about an alert, the important point is that you get the correct information in a timely way. Right?
