  • Galaxy Tab 3 producing continuous LightSensor error in LogCat

    I am using a Galaxy Tab 3 as a test device for writing an android app. As such I'm interested in the output of the LogCat which is being filled with these error level messages. The device itself appears to work correctly, apps which rely on the light sensor correctly respond to it and the number in the error itself goes down if the light sensor is obscured. If I wasn't using it to develop apps I wouldn't even be aware of the issue but I believe it is an issue with the device itself not my app: simply plugging the tab 3 into the computer and using Eclipse - ADT to look at the LogCat without any app running leads to these errors being shown. I know I could filter the LogCat to ignore these errors but inconvenience aside; they concern me. A sample of the log cat is below (it generates errors continuously). This is on verbose so it includes some debug level (D/) messages as well as the error level messages (E/).   • Jquery calendar and tab sliding div clash...

    Hey all, i am trying my best to figure out another way around this problem i seem to have encountered. On my website i have a jquery calendar and also a jquery div tab slider (this: http://www.queness.com/resources/html/tabmenu/jquery-tabbed-menu-queness.html). The problem comes into play with the DIV tag. The calender loads up inside a DIV with a id of 'calender'. The CSS for the tabs have the DIV hidden: CSS: .boxBody div {display:none;} .boxBody div.show {display:block;} .boxBody #category a {display:block;} And because of that, the calender never shows on the page. However, if i comment out that css code above, it shows up but does not cover each section as it should. I'm trying to get the first column only to be as wide as is needed by the text occupying it's cells The table is an unknown width, as are the columns/cells.

    I have a problem with my site. When I resize the window everything stays still and doesn't move, the window just crosses over everything.   • Hide/ change width/ change position of UIButton based on device type

    I'm using the new in-app SMS features in my iPhone app, but obviously iPod Touches aren't able to send and receive SMS without support of a third party app. I know all well how to detect the device and how to hide a UIButton, but what I do not know is how to change the width of the others. Above are the three icons. The one on the far rights needs to be hidden on an iPod Touch, and the other two need to adjust size/ position to fill the remaining space. Any tips on programatically changing the position and width of a UIButton is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    I'm trying to zoom in on a Google MapView on step in the oncreateMethod of my Activity. Sadly the zoomIn function I'm using does not take any arguments.   • 100% width table cell

    Hello! I have this table layout. I want to align the whole content to the right. So i'm using one cell with width: 100%;. Usually everything looks good and nice. But there is something, which i don't understand. If the content in cell, which has colspan, becomes bigger than normal cell in this column (you can test this by clicking Click to test button), it brakes whole layout. This happens on Chrome, Safari 4 and 5, IE8, but on Opera, FF and IE7 is OK.   • Wrapping variable width text in emacs lisp

    I am hacking up a tagging application for emacs. I have got a tag cloud/weighted list successfully displaying on a buffer, but i am running into a snag. I need to be able to properly word-wrap the buffer, but I haven't a clue where to start. The font I am using is a variable width font. On top of that, each tag is going to be in a different size, depending on how many times it shows up on the buffer. Finally, the window that displays the tagcloud could be in a window that is 200 pixels wide, or the full screen width. I really have no idea where to start.   • 100% width bg images not extending on horizontal scroll

    I'm noticing this issue. I made a quick screen capture to demonstrate: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/904456/2010-06-14_2323.swf Basically when you have a min-width set and the viewport goes under that constraint, a horizontal scroll bar appears. Pretty much what you would expect, but when you scroll over horizontally all elements that are suppose to extend across the entire width of the page and have background images/colors different from the body do not extend. If you resize the viewport it seems to catch up. Is this a known issue? You can see it on a lot of sites, http://gowalla.com for example. Any ideas?

If you create this window in XAML, you can see that when you don't specify a width for the window, it wraps the text in a single column, one letter at a time. Is there something I'm missing?   • jCarousel, IE6 and Fixed Width

    We are using jCarousel on our websites to display images. Simple enough. We have fairly flexible layouts so the carousels are not always the same width. FF, IE7+, Chrome, Safari etc work perfectly well taking up the space available. However IE6 ends up sending the jCarousel script into a loop and warns that a script is stopping the page from loading correctly. To stop IE6 from failing we are having to specify a fixed width in CSS for the carousel container. Is this a problem that others have had with IE6 and jCarousel?

    The printf/fprintf/sprintf family supports a width field in its format specifier. I have a doubt for the case of (non-wide) char arrays arguments: Is the width field supposed to mean bytes or characters? What is the (correct-de facto) behaviour if the char array corresponds to (say) a raw UTF-8 string? (I know that normally I should use some wide char type, that's not the point) For example, in char s[] = "ni\xc3\xb1o"; // utf8 encoded "niño" fprintf(f,"%5s",s); Is that function supposed to try to ouput just 5 bytes (plain C chars) (and you take responsability of misalignments or other problems if two bytes results in a textual characters) ? Or is it supposed to try to compute the length of "textual characters" of the array? (decodifying it... according to the current locale?) (in the example, this would amount to find out that the string has 4 unicode chars, so it would add a space for padding).

But when I embed the .swf file into a HTML page, the application's background color covers the whole screen, and when the Flash Player Settings message box pops up it is outside of the area I defined in the code above.   • emacs windows, distribute the width through the frame

    I used once a very nice emacs function that set all my windows (emacs windows, not frames) width evenly. If you open emacs and do C-x 3 twice in a row, you get three vertical windows. Then running the function I am looking for makes the width of these windows the same. I can't for the life of me find this function again. Wouldn't someone help me to: find the name of the function give me the keyboard shortcut if any tell me what I should have done to find the answer by myself Thanks!

    Hello, gcc 4.4.4 c89 I got into a recent discussion about "fixed width strings" and "zero terminated strings". When I think about this. They seem to be the same thing. A string with a terminating null. i.e. char *name = "Joe bloggs"; Is a fixed width string that cannot be changed. And also has a terminating null. Also in the discussion I was told that strncpy should never been used on 'zero terminated strings'. Many thanks for any susgestions,

    I'll try to explain this as best I can. I have multiple divs that are fixed-width but variable height. I want to float these boxes into two columns inside a fixed-width container. What happens when a give them all a float: left value, I get something like this: ######### ######### # box 1 # # box 2 # ######### # ..... # ......... # ..... # ......... ######### ######### ######### # box 3 # # box 4 # # ..... # # ..... # ######### ######### ######### ######### # box 5 # # box 6 # # ..... # ######### # ..... # ######### (The periods are white space) What I really would really like is the top of box 3 to touch the bottom of box 1. Any easy way to acheive this?
