• Need IPSec help on Windows 2003

  Hey guys, I am trying to configure IPSec between a web and app server in our environment. I want all traffic between these two servers to use IPsec and be encrypted. These servers are on the same domain so i am currently using Kerebos for security, I have also tried pre-defined keys and nothing changed. When I try and ping between the servers I get "Negotiating IP Security" everytime. I have also confirmed that when I change "Require Security" to "Permit" everything works so IPSec is working, I believe its something with my security setup. Under the security tab both servers have the default 3DES keys first and then DES keys. I have also specified tunnel endpoints (the alternate server's IP). What am I missing? Thanks for any help..

• Need deleted data back from Pen Drive, Please help

  All, I am using a Pendrive to transfer files from one system to another. I think I deleted some files from the Pendrive that I now need back. Also, there are chances that I might have overwritten the memory where the deleted data might have existed. Is there any software to do something about that? I understand that logically whatever is overwritten in memory cannot to fetched back. But still I need to trust the advances in the technology. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

  I understand this is an open ended question and not quite sure how to add this to community wiki, if that is appropriate. I am doing a little research on where small companies would go on the internet to get answers for technology related questions. Could be around sales, servers, programming, etc. Clearly superuser.com, serverfault.com, and stackoverflow.com are excellent starting points. I am just wondering if anyone has heard of any others. Think a "facebook" that links technology providers with small companies to help answer questions and potentially provide/offer solutions. Thanks!

• Help me to set samba and apache on my Ubuntu VM from Vista, starting from ping

  Ok the title is not so clear after all, so let's start with the problem description posting some points: i'm on Win Vista i have a Virtual Box Ubuntu 9.04 server (Virtual Machine) installed in windows i'm under Active Directory (maybe helps), with network 192.168.2.x After Ubuntu installation (LAMP), i have: Ubuntu Ip set to 10.0.2.15 (dhcp) Vista pings Ubuntu and Ubuntu pings Vista (only IPs, not names) Can't connect to Apache (default install ubuntu server) at the url h**p://10.0.2.15/ On Ubuntu, testing Apache by doing 'wget http://10.0.2.15/' works Tried to setup samba, writing a share def, but nothing, i can't access from Vista to Ubuntu My scope is: Setting up samba to work on files from windows Reaching apache to test web pages Ok i'm not completely noob (but i'm on the noob way anyway) and i've tried many solutions, so please try to help me; let's look together what went wrong :)

  I'd like to be able to have the windows 7 start menu link to folders and not link to the stupid libraries. I need the following rules to apply: Must catch all URLs that do not end with an extension (www.foo.com -- catch | www.foo.com/catch-me -- catch | www.foo.com/dont-catch.me -- don't catch). Must catch all URLs that end with .php* (.php, .php4...) (thwaw are the exceptions to rule #1). All rules must only apply in some directories and not in their subdirectories (/ and /framework so far). The htaccess must send the typed URL in a GET value so I can work with it in PHP. Any mod-rewrite wizard can help me?

  sir, i have created a web application in eclipse,db2 database server is running on my pc.so i can access the web application through the address http://localhost:8080/LimsWeb i used team viewer software to establish a remote desktop connection. can my friend somehow connect to my pc so that when he types the above url in his browser he will be able to fetch the pages of the application. i was able to do this by connecting with remote desktop mode.but in that case my friend was able to use the application which i created running on my pc only and in the window provided by team viewer.i want that he can run the application on his own computer calling the given url from his own browser. please help

Whats happening: After dig, answer section empty, the query is trying to access a.root server instead of 192.168.0.197 ,even though i have defined 192.168.0.197 as dns in gateway1's resolv.conf Why? I need this working asap, can anyone here help ?

  Hi all, Just wondering if someone can assist me further with the set-up of OpenVPN on my Windows Server 2003. I have configured Win Server as per the following guide: http://tinyurl.com/kxusv and I'm now at the stage of Creating the config files. I have a few questions that I need some assistance with. My server IP is 192.168.1.10 and my routers IP address is 192.168.1.1 (the router is a Netgear DGN2000). I have edited the server.ovpn file as per the following: push "dhcp-option DNS X.X.X.X" # Replace the Xs with the IP address of the DNS for your home network (usually your ISP's DNS) push "dhcp-option DNS X.X.X.X" # A second DNS server if you have one to include my ISP DNS and I have not edited anything else. Now my issue is with the client1.opvpn file as per the below: client dev tap #dev-node MyTAP #If you renamed your TAP interface or have more than one TAP interface then remove the # at the beginning and change "MyTAP" to its name proto udp remote YOURHOST.dyndns.org 1194 #You will need to enter you dyndns account or static IP address here. The number following it is the port you set in the server's config route 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 vpn_gateway 3 #This it the IP address scheme and subnet of your normal network your server is on. The final part that I'm stuggling with is Configuring the router. Basically I have a Netgear DGN2000 and as it mentions that the router should be configured to port forward port 1194 to the server’s IP address of 192.168.1.150 all I have been able to do is in 'Firewall Rules' and on 'Inbound Services', set the Service to 'Any(ALL) and Send to LAN Server point to 1923.168.1.150. I'm not sure if this is correct? It is the following stage of the help guide that I'm struggling with and really need some help with: You need to make sure the port you configured OpenVPN to listen on is forwarded on the router to the IP address of your server. On the WRT54G, port forwarding is configured in the “Applications & Gaming” section. Enter 1194 for the port, UDP for the protocol, and 192.168.1.150 for the IP address. Make sure the entry is enabled and then save the setting. Next, you need to add an entry to the router’s Routing Table. This will enable the router to properly route requests from the clients to the TAP interface of the server. On the WRT54G you would go to the “Setup” page and then the “Advanced Routing” section. Enter the follwing info to make the entry: Enter Route Name: openVPN Destination LAN IP: 192.168.10.0 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.252 Default Gateway: 192.168.1.150 Interface: LAN & Wireless Once the info has been typed in make sure you save the setting. Can anyone possibly guide me through setting this part up with my Netgear router. I see that once I have these 2 parts complete I'm there so I would really appreciate someone walking me through what is required in completing this. Much appreciated.

  Hello! I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 laptop which display stopped working all of the sudden. It started to show a purple fog pattern along with some color vertical lines. I talked to Dell support and they told me that is a screen gone bad and I should get a new one which I did. But surprisingly the new display won't work either! The pattern on the screen is different but still no picture. So I tried to connect the old display to another laptop (Lenovo Z61) and it turns out it works just fine with it! So please help me to identify the cause of the issue. I think it could be a video card but the external display works flawlessly. I appreciate your thoughts about it so I won't need to buy spares which I don't need. Thank you! P.S. Please do not suggest to contact Dell support again.

I checked with Samsung, they do not make manuals available nor will they help over the phone as to how to remove the bottom cover of this Samsung NP900X1A Laptop. • Excel Help: Macro is not Cooperating with Quotations!!

  Hi all, I Have a macro containing a line that will change the formula of a cell using R1C1 formula type. The formula is: ActiveCell.FormulaR1C1 = _ "=IF(R[0]C[-2]=0,"",(R[0]C[-20]-R[0]C[-16]))" When ever I attempt to run the macro it always comes up with a dialog box saying Run-time error '1004': Application-defined or object-defined error. • mysqld stopped working..can't restart...need help?

  i was just checking somethings and noticed mysqld is not running in parallels power panel control panel...but my websites on the server were all working fine, which use mysql databases...so really strange So i tried to restart mysqld but got errors and can't restart and now all my websites are all offline now saying error connecting to database. logged in as root and tried /etc/init.d/mysqld start and got this error ERROR!   I have a server with a IP 1.0.0.5/24. This is the main IP address of the server, and now I have two other IP addresses for the server, they are 1.0.2.30/24 and 1.0.2.31/24. I want to make a VirtualBox running another OS accessible through the Internet, and only allow the specified IP to reach the virtual box. I'm new to iptables and therefore I need some basic help and getting started information about this. The hosting provider does not allow more than on MAC address per switch port, which means that I'm not able to make bridge as far as I know. Futhermore I want the host, to reject the extra IPs so its only the VirtualBox / virtual machine that accepts the request's on the extra IPS.

• HELP! Snow Leopard's Desktop Icons keeps Resizing Repeatedly

  I'm using a new macbook 10.6.5. I've been using mac OS for years. However, the problem that I'm getting is that the desktop icons keep resizing repeatedly. It keeps going to the biggest size possible and its driving me crazy. I've been resizing it back to medium size all the time. But when I start doing something at the finder it starts resizing by itself once again. Is there a fix to this problem? Please help.

• Windows Internet Connection Issue (HELP)

  I have a windows 8 hp dual booting ubuntu. When i log onto windows i cant get on the internet... But skype and other applications can just now webpages in a browser what so ever (this is on windows 8). But on ubuntu i have no internet issues at all. From what i see right now its only the browsers in windows 8 that cant get the internet, and ive tried all the browsers i had (chrome, ie, firefox) and they cant connect but in the win8 notification area it says im connected. I can even ping via cmd. HELP! Thanks. Whats not working is that i cant get access the internet through the windows 8 broswer.
