  • Routing fails when only category is supplied

    My website uses categories and sub-categories. I'd like the follow mapping: /Category/Fruit /Category/Fruit/Apples But if I use the below: routes.MapRoute( "Category", // Route name "Category/{category}/{subcategory}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Entity", action = "Category" } // Parameter defaults ); I get a 404 for /Category/Fruit however /Category/Fruit/Apples works ok. I'd like /Category/Fruit to work as well but I can't add another route with the same name. How do I get around this? Thanks in advance.

    I've been stuck at this for days now. I copied the exact codes from google api samples to upload files to Google Drive. Here is the code UserCredential credential = GoogleWebAuthorizationBroker.AuthorizeAsync( new ClientSecrets { ClientId = ClientId, ClientSecret = ClientSecret, }, new[] { DriveService.Scope.Drive, DriveService.Scope.DriveFile }, "user", CancellationToken.None, new FileDataStore("MyStore")).Result; But it would throw an exception at runtime: Method not found: 'Void Google.Apis.Util.Store.FileDataStore..ctor(System.String)'. I already added the necessary Google Api dlls. Or if anyone could suggest a better code for uploading files to Google Drive in a website which implements Server-Side Authorization. Any help would be greatly appreciated.   • How can I keep the the logic to translate a ViewModel's values to a Where clause to apply to a linq query out of My Controller?

    This same problem keeps cropping up. I have a viewModel that doesn't have any persistent backing. It is just a ViewModel to generate a search input form. I want to build a large where clause from the values the user entered. If the Action Accepts as a parameter SearchViewModel How do I do this without passing my viewModel to my service layer? Service shouldn't know about ViewModels right? Oh and if I serialize it, then it would be a big string and the key/values would be strongly typed. SearchViewModel this is just a snippet.   • What is the easiest way to deploy a MVC2 application from Visual Studio 2010 to IIS 7.5?

    I´ve tried a couple of different ways to deploy a application to a IIS 7.5 running on my machine for testing purposes and i´ve sort of hit a wall. Nothing works out of the box. Everything assumes I have knowledge I don't have and would prefer not to have to aqquire. Google isn't really helping either with answers ranging from "copy files by hand" to "install teamcity and set it up for CI". I have set up TeamCity for java projects before and it's really over kill for my needs at the moment. So anyone know of a fast, simple and easy way to deploy a application during testing/building?

    enviroment: hibernate 4.1.6.final spring 3.1.2.release spring jpa 1.1.0.release postgresql 9.1-901-1.jdbc4 there is 2 table public A { private Long id; private Long name; } public B { private Long id; private Long table_a_id; } the A.id and B.id is sequential, unique , but no related.(means they are separately id for their own table). how to do mapping? i have tried some method, however the result is not i wanted, because it bind wrong. for example: public A { .... @OneToOne @JoinColumn(name = "id") private B table_b } public B { ... @JsonIgnore @OneToOne(mappedBy = "table_b") private A table_a; } when i query A the result is { "id":5, "table_b":{ "id":5, "table_a_id":4 } } obviously the data join by using their id but not joining using table_a_id. what i expect is { "id":4, "table_b":{ "id":5, "table_a_id":4 } } so can somebody teach me that, how to map this 2 table by using table b table_a_id(foregin key)

  • Does duplicate id's screw up jquery selectors?

    If I had two divs, both with id="myDiv" Would $("#myDiv").fadeOut(); fade both divs out? Or would it fade only the first/second? Or none at all? How do I change which one it fades out? Note: I know duplicate id's is against standards but I'm using the fancybox modal popup and it duplicates specified content on your page for the content of the popup. If anyone knows a way around this (maybe I'm using fancybox wrong) please let me know.

    Hey all. Java's XML parser seems to be thinking that my XML document is not well formed following the root element, but I've validated it with several tools and they all disagree. It's probably an error in my code rather than in the document itself, I'd really appreciate any help you all could offer me. Adding either resulted in compiler warnings and runtime errors. I've tried the explicit syntax as described here but haven't found the right combination yet.

Can I set some properties in OnExecuting so I don't have to do it for all Actions? I want to then display the string value of the property in all my view pages. If yes, how can I do this? If i write its code in public string this[string propName] i alwasy getting Attachment null. How can i fill Attachment Object of ContactEmail so that i can manage all errors on same place?

  • Render different view depending on the type of the data

    Hi there So lets suppose we have an action in a controller that looks a bit like this: public ViewResult SomeAction(int id) { var data = _someService.GetData(id); ... //create new view model based on the data here return View(viewModel); } What I m trying to figure out is the best way to render a diferent view based on the type fo the data. the "_someService.GetData method returns an data that knows its out type (ie not only you can do typeof(data) but also you can do data.DataType and you ll get an enum value so I could achieve what I m trying to do doing something kinda like this public ViewResult SomeAction(int id) { var data = _someService.GetData(id); //I m mapping fields to the viewModel here var viewModel = GetViewModel(data); swtich(data.DataType) case DataType.TypeOne: return View("TypeOne", viewModel); break; ... } But this does not seem to be the nicest way, (I dont event know if it would work) Is this the way to go? Should I use some sort of RenderPartial Aproach? after all , waht will change in the view is mostly the order of the data (ie the rest of the view would be quite similar) Cheers
