• Uploading multiple files simultaneously with Flex

  I have been working on a flex uploader, where the user can select multiple files. It works fine when the files are uploaded in a queue (one at a time), however as soon as I try to have it upload 2 files at once I run into issues. It seems that files will often lock up, and either stay at 1% until every other file is uploaded, or just not complete at all. There is never more than one file uploading at a time. Is there some issue with calling .upload on multiple files at once in Flex?

• problem processing xml in flex3

  Hi All, First time here asking a question and still learning on how to format things better... so sorry about the format as it does not look too well. I have started learning flex and picked up a book and tried to follow the examples in it. However, I got stuck with a problem. I have a jsp page which returns xml which basically have a list of products. I am trying to parse this xml, in other words go through products, and create Objects for each product node and store them in an ArrayCollection. The problem I believe I am having is I am not using the right way of navigating through xml. Can someone please help/point out what I could be doing wrong. • Animated Gif in form using C#

  In my project, whenever a long process in being executed, a small form is displayed with a small animated gif file. I used this.Show() to open the form and this.Close() to close the form. • How do chains work in Rainbow tables?

  Hello, I was wondering if should one could explain in detail how chains work in rainbow tables as though you would a complete novice but with relevance to programming. I understand that a chain is 16 bytes long. 8 bytes mark the starting point and 8 mark the end. I also understand that in the filename we have the chain length i.e. 2400. Which means that between our starting point and end point in just 16 bytes we have 2400 possible clear texts? What? How does that work? in those 16 bytes how do i get my 2400 hashes and clear texts or am i miss understanding this? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks P.s. I have read the related papers and googled this topic a fair bit. I think im just missing something important to make these gears turn.

One of the main theme of agile is frequent releases and each company/client would have their own test/approval processes that control code releases. Most of the time these slow down the pace of "frequent releases" Currently we have a proprietary tool based workflow. The team who needs a code promotion needs to create a promotion request to one of the final UAT servers. Once this is complete, and once tests are done, certain customers, technical/non-technical managers need to approve, then it goes in to production deploy stage. Meanwhile no sprint planning meeting or anything of that sort. What is the code release process (Which is agile) that has worked for you?

  I'm facing a problem which is probably extremely common in game-design. Let's assume that we've got a 2D world The world's size is M x N rect The world may contain some items in it The items have (x,y) coords The world can be browsed via a window that is physically (m x n) large. The browser window can be zoomed in / out The browser window can be panned up/down + left right, while in the extents of the world's rect. How should I go about implementing this? I'm especially concerned about the browser window. Can anyone recommend any good reads ? This is not a homework - it's more of a task which I've set myself to complete.

  Hello people, I have three images, and they are not square or rectangular in shape. They are just like face of anyone. So, basically, my images are in the size 196x196 or anything like that, but complete square or rectangle with the face in the middle and transperant background in the rest of the portion. Now, I want to remove the transperant background too and just keep the faces. Don't know if this is possible and mind you, this isn't a programming question. EDIT (from comments): How do I put a border around the shape of the image, not a rectangular one around the boundary, using CSS.

• linux display drivers

  I've run into a major display problem on newly installed fedora 11, on my 6 years old pc which runs a pentium4 2.4 GHz processor, 1 gb ddr ram, intel 845 motherboard with integrated graphics card. When i open an image or play a video, my complete screen turns garbled. I simply cannot make out whats on my screen. With difficulty i have to close the image/video window and move around the folder window to clean the screen image. Is it because of my display drivers? How can i fix it? I also ran into mp3 plugins and flash issues which i was able to resovle. I'm new to linux, the sole purpose of isntalling it on my old pc was to learn linux but this display problem is frustrating me. Thanks, Salman

• Flight paths linking placemarks using Java Api For Kml(JAK)

  Currently i'm having a project which requires to set placemarks and link them with polylines (i suppose), lines which have an arc to it, with properly segmented portions to the arc. I've been able to generate kml file with jak library. But i can't produce more den 1 placemark in the kml file. Here is the question: A = {0^n 1^m 0^n | n>=1, m>=1} Prove that A is not regular. It's pretty obvious that the pumping lemma has to be used for this. So, we have |vy| = 1 |vxy| <= p (p being the pumping length, = 1) uv^ixy^iz exists in A for all i = 0 Trying to think of the correct string to choose seems a bit iffy for this. I was thinking 0^p 1^q 0^p, but I don't know if I can obscurely make a q, and since there is no bound on u, this could make things unruly.. So, how would one go about this?

• Classes missing if application runs for a long time

  I have a funny problem - if my application runs for a long time ( 20h), then sometimes I get NoClassDefFound error - seems like JVM decided that the class is not going to be used anyway and GCd it. To be a bit more specific, here's an example case: object ErrorHandler extends PartialFunction[Throwable,Unit] { def isDefinedAt(t: Throwable) = true def apply(e: Throwable) =e match { // ... handle errors } } // somewhere else in the code... try { // ... long running code, can take more than 20 hours to complete } catch (ErrorHandler) And I get the following exception: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/rogach/avalanche/ErrorHandler$ If that try/catch block runs for smaller amounts of time, everything works as expected. If anyone is interested, here is the codebase in question: Avalanche I need to note that I saw this and similar problems only on Cent OS 5 machines, using JRE 6u26 and Scala 2.9.1 / 2.9.2. What could be the cause of this problem?

• Text rendering blurred in Firefox and Internet Explorer using jQuery

  Not sure what causes this? If I user slideDown in Firefox the text rendering cuts off the top of the letters before the animation is complete. This is ok in IE. If I then change the animation to use fadeIn instead, the blur does not happen in Firefox but the text is very jagged in IE. From another question I have asked in the past pertaining to animation, the guy told me that I should wrap that which I want to animate in another DIV and animate that instead. This sorted out the jerkiness caused by the padding on the content inside the .animateDiv. Is there a trick to the text rendering as well in jQuery

• Progress Dialog in Android doesn't Show?

  Okay.. I am doing something similar to the below: private void onCreate() { final ProgressDialog dialog = ProgressDialog.show(this, "Please wait..", "Doing stuff..", true); Thread t = new Thread() { public void run() { //do some serious stuff... dialog.dismiss(); } }; t.start(); t.join(); stepTwo(); } However, what I am finding is that my progress dialog never even shows up. My App stalls for a moment so I know it is chugging along inside of thread t, but why doesnt my dialog appear? IF I remove the line: t.join(); Then what I find happens is that the progress dialog does show up, but my app starts stepTwo(); before what happens in the thread is complete.. Any ideas?

• Winforms panel event after scroll

  Hello I have a panel in wich I do a bounch af rater complex drawing in the paint event. Since the drawing-code is kind of heavy, it gets rather twitchy when I scroll the panel, since the paint event is raised in such short intervals. My question is really this; Can i capture evnts such as "on scroll start" and "on scroll end" on a winforms control? If so, I could then just pause the drawing-code until the scroll is complete. • GEdit/Python execution plugin?

  Hi I'm just starting out learning python with GEdit plus various plugins as my IDE. Visual Studio/F# has a feature which permits the highlighting on a piece of text in the code window which then, on a keypress, gets executed in the F# console. Is there a similar facility/plugin which would enable this sort of behaviour for GEdit/Python? I do have various execution type plugins (Run In Python,Better Python Console) but they don't give me this particular behaviour - or at least I'm not sure how to configure them to give me this. I find it useful because in learning python, I have some test code I want to execute particular individual lines or small segments of code (rather then a complete file) to try and understand what they are doing (and the copy/paste can get a bit tiresome) ... or perhaps there is a better way to do code exploration? • MS Word: Mailmerge hyperlinks with query get url string with a mergefield.

  Hi, I'm trying to send an email merging one document (docx) with a contacts database (via OleDB). Using MSWord2007, it seems easy (it works for easy things: name, address, ...) but I can't find how fill an query-get url string with a merge field inside an hyperlink. An hyperlink like: Click here where here is an hyperlink to http://domain.com/[email protected] where [email protected] is the address of the contact, a merge field. I've tried the special/merge fields: {HYPERLINK "http://domain.com/test.php?contact={MERGEFIELD contactEmail}" \o "Here"} but it doesn't work, sometimes it merge only the first record and then send all the mails with the same address, I got this alternating the view with ALT+F9. This support doc doesn't work for me because I don't have the complete URL in my database for each contact, and I can't change the design of the table or add a view (it's from the CRM), I don't like to do it exporting the table and adding the field.
