Exception when deploying a JSR 286 portlet into WebLogic+WebCenter 11g

I get the following exception when deploying a JSR 286 portlet into Oracle WebLogic Server 11g (to deploy it later in Oracle WebCenter 11g): <19-ene-2010 13H32' CET> <Error> <oracle.portlet.server.containerimpl.PortletApplicationImpl> <BEA-000000> <Error al procesar el archivo "/WEB-INF/portlet.xml" en la lÝnea 6 columna 68. org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element 'portlet-app' The error message is in spanish. It means: "Error processing the file "/WEB-INF/portlet.xml at line 6 column 68" The portlet.xml of my portlet seems to be correct and I've deployed it in other portal servers. So I don't understand the error message. Gridview header issue: call event on header

Now I got this gridview, And I need the headers to be clickable, whereafter an event starts (something like OnClickHeader="header_ClickEvent"?) Ofcourse there is a SortExpression element, which enables to sort the grid, but I want to be able to start any event, like when clicking a button. I could not find any solution within the asp:BoundField nor asp:TemplateField... I thought a hyperlink could solve the problem, but that was a bit premature. Also, when using a TemplateField, I find it very hard to fill the column with data. Could anyone bring me the solution? How can I pass a reference to another control as an IValueConverter parameter?

I am binding some business objects to a WPF ItemsControl. They are displayed using a custom IValueConverter implementation used to produce the Geometry for a Path object in the DataTemplate as shown here: <ItemsControl x:Name="Display" Background="White" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" ItemsSource="{Binding ElementName=ViewPlaneSelector, Path=SelectedItem.VisibleElements}" > <ItemsControl.Resources>  <this:GeometryConverterData x:Key="ConverterParameter2" Plane="{Binding ElementName=ViewPlaneSelector, Path=SelectedItem}" /> <DataTemplate DataType="{x:Type o:SlenderMember}"> <Path Stroke="Blue" StrokeThickness=".5" Data='{Binding Converter={StaticResource SlenderMemberConverter}, ConverterParameter={StaticResource ConverterParameter2}}' ToolTip="{Binding AsString}"> </Path> </DataTemplate> </ItemsControl.Resources> </ItemsControl> Note that the items for the ItemsControl are drawn from the ViewPlaneSelector (a ComboBox) SelectedItem.VisibleElements property. I need that same ViewPlaneSelector.SelectedItem in the SlenderMemberConverter to figure out how to display this element. I'm trying to get a reference to it into the converter by creating the intermediate GeometryConverterData object in the Resources section. This object exists solely to get around the problem of not being able to bind directly to the ConverterParameter property (as mentioned in the comments). It only and always gets set to null. I know that the ViewPlaneSelector.SelectedItem isn't always null since the ItemsControl has items, and it's items are drawn from the same property on the same object... so what gives? How can I get a reference to this ComboBox into my ValueConverter. Or, alternately, why is what I'm doing silly and overly complicated. I'm as guilty as many of sometimes getting it into my head that something has to be done a certain way and then killing myself to make it happen when there's a much cleaner and simpler solution.

Objective-C wrapper API design methodology

I know there's no one answer to this question, but I'd like to get people's thoughts on how they would approach the situation. I'm writing an Objective-C wrapper to a C library. My goals are: 1) The wrapper use Objective-C objects. For example, if the C API defines a parameter such as char *name, the Objective-C API should use name:(NSString *). 2) The client using the Objective-C wrapper should not have to have knowledge of the inner-workings of the C library. Speed is not really any issue. That's all easy with simple parameters. It's certainly no problem to take in an NSString and convert it to a C string to pass it to the C library. My indecision comes in when complex structures are involved. Let's say you have: struct flow { long direction; long speed; long disruption; long start; long stop; } flow_t; And then your C API call is: void setFlows(flow_t inFlows[4]); So, some of the choices are: 1) expose the flow_t structure to the client and have the Objective-C API take an array of those structures 2) build an NSArray of four NSDictionaries containing the properties and pass that as a parameter 3) create an NSArray of four "Flow" objects containing the structure's properties and pass that as a parameter My analysis of the approaches: Approach 1: Easiest. However, it doesn't meet the design goals Approach 2: For some reason, this seems to me to be the most "Objective-C" way of doing it. However, each element of the NSDictionary would have to be wrapped in an NSNumber. Now it seems like we're doing an awful lot just to pass the equivalent of a struct. Approach 3: Seems the cleanest to me from an object-oriented standpoint and the extra encapsulation could come in handy later. However, like #2, it now seems like we're doing an awful lot (creating an array, creating and initializing objects) just to pass a struct. So, the question is, how would you approach this situation? Are there other choices I'm not considering? Are there additional advantages or disadvantages to the approaches I've presented that I'm not considering?

Searched with no luck... I keep getting The maximum message size quota for incoming messages (65536) has been exceeded. To increase the quota, use the MaxReceivedMessageSize property on the appropriate binding element. Using Android SAXParser, one my my XML Elements is mysteriously breaking in half.

And its not '&' Im using the SAXParser object do parse the actual XML. This is normally done by passing a URL to the XMLReader.Parse method. Because my XML is coming from a POST request to a webservice, I am saving that result as a String and then employing StringReader / InputSource to feed this string back to the XMLReader.Parse method. However, something strange is happening at the 2001st character of the XMLstring. The 'characters' method of the document handler is being called TWICE in between the startElement and endElement methods, effectively breaking my string (in this case a project title) into two pieces. Because I am instantiating objects in my characters method, I am getting two objects instead of one. This line, about 2000 chars into the string fires 'characters' two times, breaking between "Lower" and "Level" <title>SUMC-BOOKSTORE, LOWER LEVEL RENOVATIONS</title> When I bypass the StringReader / InputSource workaround and feed a flat XML file to XMLReader.Parse, it works absolutely fine. Something about StringReader and or InputSource is somehow screwing this up. Here is my method that takes and XML string and parses is through the SAXParser. public void parseXML(String XMLstring) { try { SAXParserFactory spf = SAXParserFactory.newInstance(); SAXParser sp = spf.newSAXParser(); XMLReader xr = sp.getXMLReader(); xr.setContentHandler(this); // Something is happening in the StringReader or InputSource // That cuts the XML element in half at the 2001 character mark. StringReader sr = new StringReader(XMLstring); InputSource is = new InputSource(sr); xr.parse(is); } catch (IOException e) { Log.e("CMS1", e.toString()); } catch (SAXException e) { Log.e("CMS2", e.toString()); } catch (ParserConfigurationException e) { Log.e("CMS3", e.toString()); } } I would greatly appreciate any ideas on how to not have 'characters' firing off twice when I get to this point in the XML String. Or, show me how to use a POST request and still pass off the URL to the Parse function. THANK YOU.

Android Marketplace Error: "The server could not process your apk. Try again."

I have an updated apk - tested successfully on various devices and simulator instances - with the following manifest: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" package="com.myCompany.appName" android:versionCode="2" android:versionName="1.0.1"> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="3" android:targetSdkVersion="5" /> <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET" /> <supports-screens android:largeScreens="true" android:normalScreens="true" android:smallScreens="true" /> <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/icon_name" android:debuggable="false"> <activity android:name=".myActivity" android:configChanges="keyboardHidden|orientation"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity> </application> </manifest> When I post to Android Marketplace as an upgrade to my existing 1.0 app, I get the aforementioned ambiguous message: "The server could not process your apk. Try again." I've searched elsewhere for this message in hopes of finding out what might be happening, to no avail. (A popular suggestion is to move the uses-sdk element to the top of the manifest, but as you can see it's already at the top.) Clues welcome/appreciated. Update: I just tried to upload the same file again. Now I get a new message: The new apk's versionCode (2) in AndroidManifest.xml must be higher than the old apk's versionCode (2). The server could not process your apk. Try again. Soooo Marketplace did get my upgraded apk after all? (The very first accepted apk's versionCode was 1, so this update was of course bumped to 2.) Confused … Bumping it up to 3 and trying again. Surprise surprise, I get the original "could not process" error all over again. Going in circles. Hmm ... :( Nuther Update: If I exit and re-enter the Marketplace page, now it shows that the app has been uploaded! Except there's no app icon. Curiouser and curiouser ... and this is all happening with a cache-cleared (standards-friendly) browser to boot. So - do I trust the upload? Or start over ... with versionCode="4"? All I want is to get a solid "Upload successful, here's the icon, ready to publish" type of response.

How to fix "could not find a base address that matches schema http"... in WCF

I'm trying to deploy a WCF service to my server, hosted in IIS. Naturally it works on my machine :) But when I deploy it, I get the following error: This collection already contains an address with scheme http. There can be at most one address per scheme in this collection. Googling on this, I find that I have to put a serviceHostingEnvironment element into the web.config file: <serviceHostingEnvironment> <baseAddressPrefixFilters> <add prefix="http://mywebsiteurl"/> </baseAddressPrefixFilters> </serviceHostingEnvironment> But once I have done this, I get the following: Could not find a base address that matches scheme http for the endpoint with binding BasicHttpBinding. Registered base address schemes are [https]. It seems it doesn't know what the base address is, but how do I specify it? How to get rid of annoying HorizontalContentAlignment binding warning?

Rails: radio button selection for nested forms objects

I have the following form for photo_album which uses the nested forms feature of the Rails in saving the photos while updating the photo_album. And having trouble with the selection of radio button value. I want only one of the photos be able to select as the album cover, but due to the way rails produces form element ids and names, I am able to select all of the photos as album covers. [JavaScript-CSS-Firefox] Cannot change borderColor of TD

Using JS to set the background color of a TD is fine. But, setting the border color is problematic in FF 3.0.18 although IE 6 doesn't experience this. FF is problematic in that it requires the TD element to have an attribute style initialized to border-style: solid. Without that, setting border color of a TD won't work. Is this known bug? How do I set the border color without having to set style attribute as well as the initialization value? I know another trick of setting the class attribute instead of setting the border color directly. Is this an indication that somehow TD hates having its border color set dynamically? Is this known as well? JQuery Tooltip Plugin from Jorn

I am thinking someone may have run across this one, but not sure. From a high level, I am trying to roll over a input [type=text] and display a tool tip (with the contained value) using the plugin available at http://bassitance.de. I have to use titles and classes for validation on the specific elements, so I put a blank div to hold the input [type=text] value for the roll over. Issue: It won't hold the value of 2 text boxes at once. Once I put a value in the box on the right, the tooltip on the left goes away. Same thing if I switch it aroun. I can't keep a tooltip on more than one element. F# Add Constructor to a Record?

Basically I want to have a single construct to deal with serializing to both JSON and formatted xml. Records workd nicley for serializing to/from json. However XmlSerializer requires a parameterless construtor. I don't really want to have to go through the exercise of building class objects for these constructs (principal only). I was hoping there could be some shortcut for getting a parameterless constructor onto a record (perhaps with a wioth statement or something). Dojo Table not Rendering in IE6

I'm trying to use Dojo (1.3) checkBoxes to make columns appear/hide in a Dojo Grid that's displayed below the checkBoxes. I got that functionality to work fine, but I wanted to organize my checkBoxes a little better. So I tried putting them in a table. WPF: Binding to ObservableCollection in ControlTemplate is not updated

I created a ControlTemplate for my custom control MyControl. MyControl derives from System.Windows.Controls.Control and defines the following property public ObservableCollection<MyControl> Children{ get; protected set; }. To display the nested child controls I am using an ItemsControl (StackPanel) which is surrounded by a GroupBox. If there are no child controls, I want to hide the GroupBox. Everything works fine on application startup: The group box and child controls are shown if the Children property initially contained at least one element. In the other case it is hidden. The problem starts when the user adds a child control to an empty collection. The GroupBox's visibility is still collapsed. The same problem occurs when the last child control is removed from the collection. The GroupBox is still visible. Another symptom is that the HideEmptyEnumerationConverter converter does not get called. Adding/removing child controls to non empty collections works as expected. Whats wrong with the following binding? Unnecessary scroll bars appearing in IE8

Hi, In my web app there is a page(ChildPage) which is actually contained in an iframe element of another page(ParentPage). This ChildPage has its contents placed in ContentPlaceHolder of a MasterPage. <div id="DivScroll" runat="server" style="overflow-y: auto; overflow-x: auto; width: 100%; height: 100%;"> <asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="ContentPlaceHolder1" runat="server"> </asp:ContentPlaceHolder> </div> As apparent in the code, contents of ChildPage are scrollable in the div containing it. There is never the need for the scroll bars of browser to appear and it is working this way till IE7. On the page load this ImageButton is present on the bottom of the page. In this case IE8 shows browser's vertical scrollbar due to height of Div1. When I scroll DivScroll shown in first code snippet, the ImageButton moves up. When the ImageButton is moved sufficiently up so that it is above the bottommost part of page by more than 300px(i.e, the height of Div1) and if I click the ImageButton, the browser's vertical scrollbars disappear. Browser's vertical scrollbar appears in case the distance between ImageButton and the bottom most part of page is less than height of Div1 and disappears when the distance is more than height of Div1. I need that the browser's vertical scrollbar never appears. Please Help.

NameClaimType in ClaimsIdentity from SAML

I am attempting to understand the world of WIF in context of a WCF Data Service / REST / OData server. I have a hacked up version of SelfSTS that is running inside a unit test project. When the unit tests start, it kicks off a WCF service, which generates my SAML token. Inside my actual server, I put some code borrowed from Pablo Cabraro / Cibrax. This code seems to run A-OK, although I confess that I don't understand what's happening. I note that later in my code, when I need to check my identity, Thread.CurrentPrincipal.Identity is an instance of Microsoft.IdentityModel.Claims.ClaimsIdentity, which has a claim for all the attributes, plus a nameidentifier claim with the value in my NameIdentifier element in saml:Subject. It also has a property NameClaimType, which points to "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/claims/name". It would make more sense if NameClaimType mapped to nameidentifier, wouldn't it? How do I make that happen? Or am I expecting the wrong thing of the name claim? Thanks!

Ajax comments form in ASP.NET MVC2, howto?

I've been playing around with different aspects of MVC for some time now, and I've reached a situation where I'm not sure what would be the best way to solve a problem. I'm hoping that the SO community will help me out here :P I've seen a number of examples of Ajax.BeginForm on the internet, and it seems like a very nifty idea. E.g. you have a dropdown where you select a customer - and on selecting one it will load this client's details in some placeholder on the page. This works perfectly fine. But what to do if you want to tie in some validation in the box? Just hypothetically, imagine an article page, and user comments in the bottom. Below the comments area there's an ajax-y "Add comment" box. When a user adds a comment, it will appear in the comments area, below the last comment there. If I set the Ajax.BeginForm to Append the result of the call to the Comments area, it will work fine. But what if the data posted is not valid? Instead of appending a "successful" comment to the comments area I have to show the user validation errors. At this point I decided that the area INSIDE the Ajax.BeginForm will be inside a partial, and the form's submits will return this partial. Validation works fine. On each submit we reload the contents inside the form element. But how to add the successful comment to the top? Other things to consider: The comment form also has a "Preview" button. When the user clicks on Preview, I should load the rendered comment into a preview box. This will probably be inside the form area as well. I was thinking of using Json results instead. When the user submits the form, the server code will generate a Json object with a Success value, and html rendered partials as some properties. Something like { "success": true, "form": "<html form data>", "comment": "successful comment html to inject into the page" } This would be a perfect solution, except there's no way in MVC to render a partial into a string, inside the controller (separation of context, remember?). So.. what should I do then? Any "correct" way to implement this? Anyone???
