  • How to use psexec without admin privileges on target machine?

    Is it possible to use psexec to execute a command on a remote machine without having admin privileges on the remote machine? I tried running psexec \\<machine> -u <username> -p <password>, where <username> and <password> are non-admin credentials, but I get an "access denied" error I can remote desktop into the remote machine with the same credentials without any problems. My local machine is running Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit, and the remote machine is running Windows Server 2008 64-bit. I do have admin privileges on the local machine. EDIT: To all the people who are downvoting this question: I am not trying to circumvent any sort of security measure. I can already run the process on the remote machine by remote desktop-ing into the remote machine and running it. I'm simply looking for a command-line way to do something I can already do through a GUI.

  • Entity Data Model Wizzard not creating tables in EDMX file

    I'm trying the database first approach by creating an ADO.NET Entity Data Model using the Wizard with the Adventureworks2012 DB. Testing DB connection works, and the connection string is added to the App.Config. I'm selecting all the tables except the ones marked as (dbo) AWBuildVersion, DatabaseLog, and ErrorLog. When the Wizard finishes the .edmx file is blank, and if I view the file in XML view the EntityContainer is empty. I'm using VS 2010 & .NET Framework 4.0

  • ZF-Autoloader not working in UnitTests on Ubuntu

    i got a problem regarding Unit-testing a Zend-Framework application under Ubuntu 12.04. The project-structure is a default zend application whereas the models are defined as the following ./application ./models ./DbTable ./ProjectStatus.php (Application_Model_DbTable_ProjectStatus) ./Mappers ./ProjectStatus.php (Application_Model_Mapper_ProjectStatus) ./ProjectStatus.php (Application_Model_ProjectStatus) The Problem here is with the Zend-specific autoloading. The naming convention here appears that the folder Mappers loads all classes with _Mapper but not _Mappers. This is some internal Zend behavior which is fine so far. On my windows machine the phpunit runs without any Problems, trying to initiate all those classes. On my Ubuntu machine however with jenkins running on it, phpunit fails to find the appropriate classes giving me the following error Fatal error: Class 'Application_Model_Mapper_ProjectStatus' not found in /var/lib/jenkins/jobs/PAM/workspace/tests/application/models/Mapper/ProjectStatusTest.php on line 39 The error appears to really be that the Zend-Autoloader doesn't load from the ubuntu machine, but i can't figure out how or why this works. The question remains of why this is. I think i've double checked every point of contact with the zend autoloading stuff, but i just can't figure this out. I'll paste the - from my point of view relevant snippets - and hope someone of you has any insight to this.     I already use Google Analytics on my page, but I'd like to get additional info from log files. I've looked at various packages during last days, but nothing impressed me so far. Some requirements: must work on log file level (I use apache combined logs, but can configure apache to produce other types of logs) can generate static reports (windows/linux) or use GUI (windows only) should be easy to add custom user agents, and rerun analysis if it can recognize installation of eclipse plugins from log, that would be big plus understands google serp position referer should not require two days to setup (awstats, I am looking at you) should be still under active developement (i.e. analog isn't good answer) preferrably free, or at not very expensive :-) Any good analyzers programs out there?

    I'm pushing a scene to the game I'm working on, after pressing a button in the main menu. This scene is a gameplayScene which should have two layers ad childs: boardLayer and hudLayer. for now I'm testing with the boardLayer, I'm using block to call the gameplayScene to close both itself and the boardLayer, but by the time I get there the retain count of both layer is 3 (seems to be increasing after setting the block to 2, and I'm not sure when it is going up to 3) What cause this, and how should it be handled?

  • URL shortcut on the desktop doesn't show icon on Windows 7

    I added a new shortcut.url file with the following: [InternetShortcut] URL=http://test.com/ IDList= HotKey=0 IconFile=C:\Program Files\Test\logo.ico IconIndex=0 This works on XP - the shortcut displays the logo.ico. But on Windows 7, the shortcut is white, without the icon. The icon exists in the location on Windows 7. I also noticed that if I use the Windows GUI to set the icon it works. Even though I am setting it to the same icon. Is there a setting (maybe) where you have to include a path for the icon to work? How can I get it to work on Windows 7?

    I have a bash script on a ubuntu 10.4 machine. It is shared and I can access it from my win7 machine with \\LINUX-SERVER\bash_repo\make-live However when I do, windows tries to open it. This is not what I want. I want to tell ubuntu to execute it. I am actually hoping to be able to build a GUI app on windows where the user clicks a button and it tells the bash script on the ubuntu machine to execute. Is any of this possible?

    Hi all, I have an method in the tableview controller class. It consists few of the UIColor and UIFont class names. I am unit testing that metohd. But when i build that test target i am getting this error: "/Developer/Tools/RunPlatformUnitTests.include:451:0 Test rig '/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneSimulator3.0.sdk/Developer/usr/bin/otest' exited abnormally with code 133 (it may have crashed)."   • Vmware Fusion 5 Port Forwarding

    I have a service (a node.js express app) running on port 3000 in a CentOS 6.3 guest that I would like to access in a web browser on my Mac Mountain Lion host using VMware Fusion 5 Professional. I am having trouble finding any information about how to do this. I believe I would like to forward the port but I cannot find any information about this using either the GUI or by modifying configuration files. In earlier versions it looks like you might have modified a file called nat.conf but that does not seem to apply to Fusion 5. Has anyone successfully done this? Thank you.

  • Creating a Scheduled Task that runs forever on Windows XP

    When I create a scheduled task, I do so via command line: schtasks.exe /Create /TN "startup-script" /TR "C:\startup.bat" /RU taskuser /RP taskpasswd /SC ONLOGON The idea is that this task run forever. The batch opens a java process that is never meant to end. I've used ONLOGON, as the machine auto-logs in as taskuser. All this works fine, for about 72 hours, after which the Duration flag kicks in and ends the process. Windows XP doesn't have the /DU flag on command line - is there an alternative method to creating a task that is meant to run from a system startup (doesn't even require logon) and runs forever, without touching a GUI?

    I need help for the below mentioned scenario: A Dot-matrix printer is physically connected to the Linux machine ( e.g. Ubuntu-10.04 , it can be any unix/linux flavour) From this linux machine, when I take a RDP to the Windows NT-4.0 TS, I run the DOS-based application. Now I want to print few pages from this DOS-based application to the Ubuntu's printer, When I am in RDP-Session. When I followed the samba-printing documentation, I am able to print from GUI-based apps like Notepad, MS WORD and so forth; but not able to print from the command prompt of Windows. Any idea how to do this ? [ WINDOWS MACHINE IS STRICTLY NT-4.0 2000 TS ]

  • XDMCP is slow any ideas? (looking for alternative remote desktops)

    I've been used to using RDP on Windows to remote to machines, and I've got an asus eee 701 which I want to use to do some *nix programming on. While the eee is a lovely little machine the screen and keyboard are a little small to use for lots of programming. I've tried using Xming (the free version) to remote login into the eee from my desktop using XDMCP (or even using a ssh session as a straight X11 server and no desktop on the eee) the whole thing seems seriously slow over wifi the initial desktop takes at least 5 seconds to paint (might even be 10 seconds I haven't actually timed it). So my real question is what do other folks use for remote control with a GUI for their *nix boxes? I am finding it hard to believe the performance is so bad over a wifi network (It makes the Mac IIs I used to use a college in 1988 seem fast) or is this just a problem with Xming and using say the Cygwin X11 server would be better.

  • How to open a program on particular desktop?

    When I start GUI program, it's window appears appears on currently active desktop (essentially, on random desktop). How to make it to appear on the specified desktop? For example, at startup I want certain programs to be started and distributed to desktops. I've already set up config file of openbox to force some programs to always start on specific desktop. Ideally it should be like: start_on_desktop 1 gnome-terminal --tab -e program1 --tab -e program2 start_on_desktop 2 gnome-terminal --tab -e program3 --tab -e program4 start_on_desktop 3 firefox It should be able to start the same program on other desktop. Also dislike when I start program while being on desktop X then switch to desktop Y and SUDDENLY a program which should be on X appears on Y. When I start lots of programs on and switch often between desktops they end up being in chaos and I need to collect them together and redistribute sanely. Also I want the first initial gnome-terminal to be on desktop 3, but I also want subsequent gnome-terminals to be on the desktop where I pressed the keystroke (also configured in openbox) that launches gnome-terminal.

    I have some videos from a few years ago,with various formats, such as avi, mpg, wmv, rm, rmvb, .... Their sizes are huge(more than 500 MB, and sometimes 1GB). Given there may likely be some advance in data compression, I would like to know which file formats and compression methods are recommended these days, by the standard that without losing obvious data, while achieving big size reduction. How can I perform the file format conversion and data compression in Ubuntu 12.04? Command line and batch ways would be the most convenient, although GUI ways are also appreciated.     Not sure if this is bad style, but I'm asking this question here because I couldn't find the answer elsewhere, and then I worked out one solution on my own. I'd be interested to see other people's solutions, but after a few days I'll post my own. In my specific case, I'm running on Windows 7, but I'd be interested in answers for other/older versions of Windows. I realise that one answer is "install a version of Unix find, and then solve as for Unix", but I wanted a more "native" solution. EDIT 2012-07-17: Clarification: by "automatically" I ideally mean something I can run as part of a script, rather than a GUI tool which does all the work at the press of a button, because I'll want to do this unattended.

    The Software Update tool shows already installed updates. I already installed them a few times, clicking either the 'Update All' button or the indivisual 'Update' buttons. The apps are: Keynote, Numbers, Pages, Skitch, Evernote, Fotor. 'Check for unfinished downloads' reports all downloads have finished. Signing out and back in and reloading didn't help. $ sudo softwareupdate -ia Password: Software Update Tool Copyright 2002-2012 Apple Inc. Finding available software No updates are available. Googling didn't help. How can I fix the GUI tool so it updates its status? OSX 10.9.3
