  • MVC 2 RC RedirectToAction woes

    Hiya! I have setup a custom route as defined in my global.asax: routes.MapRoute( "Search", "{controller}/{action}/{type}/{searchterm}", new { controller = "Search", action = "Results", type = "", searchterm = "" } ); Now all I want to do it in a controller when data is passed via POST basically go in the format: http://localhost/Search/Results/2/RG12%201JD Instead what happens is: http://localhost/Search/Results?type=1&searchterm=RG12%201JD What am I doing wrong, the offending code is: return RedirectToAction("Results",new {type = "1", searchterm = "RG12%201JD" }); Any help would be greatly appreciated!   • ASP.NET MVC partial view does not call my Action

    I just started building a small simple Website on ASP.NET MVC, in a page I am using a Partial view, the Partial View represents a simple Form which should be submitted on button click, and If I click the first Time it is submitted with success and does return my partial view with my validation Messages (if the content is invalid) but if I wish to try again the Action isn't called again.     I'm currently implementing a client application that POST's a file over HTTP and have implemented base64 encoding on the file's data parameter. However, it appears that when inspecting the traffic between a simple HTML page with a file upload form and the server that no Content-Transfer-Encoding header is sent in the body when describing the file's parameter. Is this the preferred way of POST'ing a file over HTTP?

  • Downloading Python 2.5.4 (from official website) in order to install it

    I was quite hesitant about whether I should post this question here on "StackOverflow" or on "SuperUser", but finally decided to post it here as Python is more a programming language rather than a piece of software. I've been recently using Python 2.5.4 that is installed on my computer, but at the moment I am not at home (and won't be for about two weeks from now), so I need to install the same version of Python on another computer. This computer has Windows XP installed – just like the one that I have at home. The reason why I need Python 2.5.4 is because I am using “Google App Engine”, and I was told that it only supports Python 2.5 However, when I went to the official Python page for the download, I discovered that certain things have changed, and I don’t quite remember where exactly from that site I had downloaded Python 2.5.4 on my computer at home. I found this page: http://www.python.org/download/releases/2.5.4/ Here is how it looks: (If you can’t see it here, please check it out at this address: http://brad.cwahi.net/some_pictures/python_page.jpg ) A few things here are not clear to me. It says: “For x86 processors: python-2.5.4.msi For Win64-Itanium users: python-2.5.4.ia64.msi For Win64-AMD64 users: python-2.5.4.amd64.msi” First of all, I don’t know what processor I am using – whether mine is “x86” or not; and also, I don’t know whether I am an “Win64-Itanium” or an “Win64-AMD64” user. Are Itanium and AMD64 also processors? Later it says: “Windows XP and later already have MSI; many older machines will already have MSI installed.” I guess, it is my case, but then I am totally puzzled as to which link I should click as it seems now that I don’t need those three previous links (as MSI is already installed on Windows XP), but there is no fourth link provided for those who use “Windows XP” or older machines. Of course, there are these words after that: “Windows users may also be interested in Mark Hammond's win32all package, available from Sourceforge.” but it seems to me that it is something additional rather than the main file. So, my question is simple: Where in the official Python website I can download Python 2.5.4, precisely, which link I should click?

  • How to link C# and C++ assemblies into a single executable

    I have VS2008 solution containg a project that generates a C# executable that references a project that generates a dll containing both C++/CLI and unmanaged C++. I would like to merge these into a single executable, as the C++ dll contains security code that I want to embed in the main executable. I cannot use ILMerge, as the dll contains both managed and unmanaged code. The suggested solution seems to be to use link.exe to link the C# assembly with the C++ object files. This is what I am trying to do. I manually edited the project file for the c# executable to generate a netmodule. I added a post build step to the executable project to run link.exe to link the c# netmodule and the compiled C++ object files together, then run mt.exe to merge the assembly manifests created by both projects. This runs successfully, but the exe still contains a reference to and uses the c++ types defined in the dll generated by the normal build process for the C++ project. I then specified /NOASSEMBLY in the project settings for the C++ dll, so it also generates a netmodule. In the C# project, I removed the reference to the C++ project, but added a project dependancy in the solution. I manually edited the C# project file to include similar to: <ItemGroup> <AddModules Include="..\Debug\librarycode.netmodule" /> </ItemGroup> i.e. to reference the C++ netmodule that is now generated by the C++ project. However, now the linker step in my post build event fails with: error LNK2027: unresolved module reference 'librarycode.netmodule' fatal error LNK1311: 1 unresolved module references: This is entirely understandable, as I am not linking in the librarycode netmodule; I am linking in the C++ object files used to generate the netmodule instead. So in short, how do I merge a c# executable and C++ object files into a single assembly? What have I missed? I tried the rar module within the maven-ear-plugin which was actually packaging this within the ear file and the rar plugin which seems to be used for packaging a rar. Currently I am using the antrun plugin to deploy the rar file and it's associated ds.xml, is there a different plugin to automate direct deployment.
