  I have the following line between my \maketitle and my \begin{abstract}: \center{ \textsc{Some text here} } This seems to cause the ENTIRE DOCUMENT to be formatted as centered. Why is this and how should I get around it? Part two: Is there a way to get some text to appear only when the [draft] option is active. For example, when the draft option is active, I want some text to appear between my title and abstract: "draft: do not cite without permission" or some such.

Now I would like to list all the figures / tables / algortihms once again at the end of the file so that I can check if they all look the same. For example, if every algorithm has the same notation.   I have a silly use case for eclipse: At work, they use 2 spaces for a tab character. Indentation looks really squashed and I'm finding it obstructs readability. Now, I can't set Eclipse to use 4 spaces for a tab as it'll edit any files I change, and obviously don't want to violate the coding standards.
