    Hi, I'm making a settings screen at the moment that will have a radiobutton group which will determine what controls are displayed. The different settings are contained within a UserControl. I am dynamically creating this UserControl like so: panel = new btSettings(); this.Controls.Add(panel); panel.Location = new Point(15, 49); Just wondering how I can access the fields within this control and design time when the object will only be created during run time?   • ruby on rails has_many through relationship

    Hi i'm having a little trouble with a has_many through relationship for my app and was hoping to find some help. So i've got Users & Lectures. Lectures are created by one user but then other users can then "join" the Lectures that have been created. Users have their own profile feed of the Lectures they have created & also have a feed of Lectures friends have created. This question however is not about creating a lecture but rather "Joining" a lecture that has been created already. I've created a "lecturerelationships" model & controller to handle this relationship between Lectures & the Users who have Joined (which i call "actives"). Users also then MUST "Exit" the Lecture (either by clicking "Exit" or navigating to one of the header navigation links). I'm grateful if anyone can work through some of this with me...     I made a module prototype for building complex timer schedules in python. The classe prototypes permit to have Timer objects, each with their waiting times, Repeat objects that group Timer and other Repeat objects, and a Schedule class, just for holding a whole construction or Timers and Repeat instances. The construction can be as complex as needed and needs to be flexible. Each of these three classes has a .run() method, permitting to go through the whole schedule. Whatever the Class, the .run() method either runs a timer, a repeat group for a certain number of iterations, or a schedule. Is this polymorphism-oriented approach sound or silly? What are other appropriate approaches I should consider to build such a versatile utility that permits to put all building blocks together in as complex a way as desired with simplicity? Thanks!     Ok the thing is that I am using asp.net mvc with linq to sql. I have a scenario where there are two tables group and features with many to many relationship with the third table groupfeatures. I have drag and drop all three table in the dbml file. Why would it be giving me that problem?

  • Rails Active Record Mysql find query HAVING clause

    Is there a way to use the HAVING clause in some other way without using group by. I am using rails and following is a sample sccenario of the problem that i am facing. In rails you can use the Model.find(:all,:select,conditions,:group) function to get data. In this query i can specify a having clause in the :group param. But what if i dont have a group by clause but want to have a having clause in the result set. Ex: Lets take a query select sum(x) as a,b,c from y where "some_conditions" group by b,c; This query has a sum() aggregation on one of the fields. No if there is nothing to aggregate then my result should be an empty set. But mysql return a NULL row. So this problem can be solved by using select sum(x) as a,b from y where "some_conditions" group by b having a NOT NULL; but what happens in case i dont have a group by clause?? a query like below select sum(x) as a,b from y where "some_conditions"; so how to specify that sum(x) should not be NULL? Any solution that would return an empty set in this case instead of a NULL row will help and also that solution should be doable in rails. We can use subqueries to get this condition working with sumthin like this select * from ((select sum(x) as b FROM y where "some_condition") as subq) where subq.b is not null; but is there a better way to do this thru sql/rails ??

    I'm using a Collection View Source to group my data. In my data, I have Property1 and Property2 that I'm needing to group on. The only stipulation is that I don't want sub-groups of another group. So, when I group by these two properties, I don't want to have it so that Property2 because a subgroup of Property1's group.   • Is there a way to automatically load navigational property using the .NET Entity Framework?

    Stepping away more and more from writing SQL for my applications, I decided to give the Entity Framework a try. However, I've run into something I believe is causing me to write more code than I think is strictly necessary. When I accessed some navigational properties, I discovered that all many-to-one relations (simple references) were null and all one-to-many and many-to-many relations (EntityCollections) were empty. For example: I have a User with a reference to a Group. When I have retieved a User, by using a simple select-by-id, the Group property is null. If I want to access the Group I have to manually load it (using User.GroupReference.Load()). So I added a GetGroup() method in User which checks whether the Group is loaded already and, if not, does so and then returns the Group. Now this will result in a lot of highly similar methods for all navigational properties. And it all results in the navigational properties not being used, only my custom-made Get"PropertyName"() method's are now being used. I don't want to expand my queries (linq to entities) to immediately load all these properties, because it's not always known at first what is needed. And besides, it would cause a lot of queries to have to be made. Is there a way to configure the Entity Framework to load these objects when they happen to not be present? So when I access User.Group and the group is not loaded yet, it is loaded automatically? Or am I stuck using my own Get"PropertyName"() method's as long as I'm trying to load objects only on demand (or "just-in-time")? Some extra info: I'm using VS2008 SP1 with .NET 3.5 SP1. The Entity Framework I'm using is the one that got shipped with it.

Not too experienced with serverfault and ideally I'd post my followup on the original question, or PM adam to see if he ever found a solution, but looks as though server fault doesn't work that way. I can post an "answer" but that's definitely not what this is. I would like to enable specific accounts to log in so that i can disable root. This is a GridServer/Media Temple (CentOS).

At first I thought they were only using images and when the user picked a color you just replaced that part, but when I selected a different sole I noticed it didn't changed like an image it looked a bit more as if it was being rendered. Does anybody happens to know how this is made? Or where can I get further info about making this effect :)?

    I am trying to design an HTML table where the header will stay at the top of the page when AND ONLY when the user scrolls it out of view. For example, the table may be 500 pixels down from the page, how do I make it so that if the user scrolls the header out of view (browser detects its no longer in the windows view somehow), it will stay put at the top?     Hi. I'm trying to use a UIPicker View with a behavior somehow different of what's usually seen in iPhone code examples. What I want to do is to allow users to scroll through the picker contents, but not to select a picker's row automatically (using the "didSelectRow" method from picker's delegate). Instead, I want to allow the user to touch the center row of the picker, which gets highlighted, and becomes the selection. Is there any way to achieve this? Thanks in advance.
