    I would like to create simple xml parser using bison/flex. I don't need validation, comments, arguments, only <tag>value</tag>, where value can be number, string or other <tag>value</tag>. So for example: <div> <mul> <num>20</num> <add> <num>1</num> <num>5</num> </add> </mul> <id>test</id> </div> If it helps, I know the names of all tags that may occur. I know how many sub-tag can be hold by given tag.     I have a function that attempts to take a list of usernames, look each one up in a user table, and then add them to a membership table. If even one username is invalid, I want the entire list to be rolled back, including any users that have already been processed. I thought that using sessions was the best way to do this but I'm running into a DetachedInstanceError: DetachedInstanceError: Instance <Organization at 0x7fc35cb5df90> is not bound to a Session; attribute refresh operation cannot proceed Full stack trace is here. The error seems to trigger when I attempt to access the user (model) object that is returned by the query. From my reading I understand that it has something to do with there being multiple sessions, but none of the suggestions I saw on other threads worked for me.   • whats a sure shot way to make sure objects appear correctly positioned on stage

    Hi, I've being having a lot of trouble recently getting objects (UIComponents containing movieclips) to appear correctly in the right positions. For example, my current dilema is I have a container that is 3 layers deep. outer layer inner layer display layer This hiearachy was built in CS4 as a movieclip. In the display layer in CS4 I figured out where I want to place 16 different "box" movieclips. I dont want to create these boxes maunually at design time, instead I want to add them at run time. So I know what container I want to add my boxes to. I know what positions they "would" be at in CS4 environment. Whats the best way to add them in the correct locations with code? The "box" I'm trying to add in a movieclip held inside of a UIComponent. Is there a "rule of thumb" to do this type of thing? I'm sure I'm going to encounter this problem again and again and I'd like to just blow the problem out of the water once and for all with the "right way" to do this.

I want the following pseudo code to work: IList<FavoriteItem> list = session.Linq<FavoriteItem>().ToList(); list.Add(item1); list.Add(item2); list.Remove(item3); list.Remove(item4); var item5 = list.First(i => i.Name = "Foo"); item5.Name = "Bar"; session.Save(list); This should automatically insert item1 and item2, delete item3 and item3 and update item5 (i.e. I don't want to call sesssion.SaveOrUpdate() for all items separately. Is it possible to define a pseudo entity that is not associated with a table? For example I want to define the class Favorites and map 2 collection properties of it and than I want to write code like this: var favs = session.Linq<Favorites>(); favs.FavoriteColors.Add(new FavoriteColor(...)); favs.FavoriteMovies.Add(new FavoriteMovie(...)); session.SaveOrUpdate(favs); FavoriteColors and FavoriteMovies are the only properties of the Favorites class and are of type IList and IList. I do only want to persist the these two collection properties but not the Favorites class. Any help is much appreciated.

    Hello: 2 questions actuall: Is there a good comprensive guide out there for creating add-ins for Visual Studio? Here's a weird specific problem -- I'm trying to get my add-in to load. The code that the wizard stubs into the OnConnect method will add it to the toolbar, but only if it passes this "if" statement: if (connectMode == ext_ConnectMode.ext_cm_UISetup) The problem is that connectMode never seems to equal ext_cm_UISetup. It always seems to equal ext_cm_AfterStartup, and My AddIn never appears on the toolbar. I could cheat and short-circuit the if, but since Visual Studio put that code there, I bet it's right, and I have something else wrong. According to the docs, the value should only ever be ext_cm_UISetup once -- the first time VS encounters the addin. So I probably need to somehow make VS forget about the add-in, but I can't find anywhere to do that. And by the way, isn't that exceptionally delicate? The reason I'm in this pickle is because I happened to get an exception on the first try, so now I can never try again?? Can't be right.

This results in the text box not displaying.

  • Best way to carry & modify a variable through various instances and functions?

    I'm looking for the "best practice" way to achieve a message / notification system. I'm using an OOP-based approach for the script and would like to do something along the lines of this: if(!$something) $messages->add('Something doesn\'t exist!'); The add() method in the messages class looks somewhat like this: class messages { public function add($new) { $messages = $THIS_IS_WHAT_IM_LOOKING_FOR; //array $messages[] = $new; $THIS_IS_WHAT_IM_LOOKING_FOR = $messages; } } In the end, there is a method in which reads out $messages and returns every message as nicely formatted HTML. So the questions is - what type of variable should I be using for $THIS_IS_WHAT_IM_LOOKING_FOR? I don't want to make this use the database. Querying the db every time just for some messages that occur at runtime and disappear after 5 seconds just seems like overkill. Using global constants for this is apparently worst practice, since constants are not meant to be variables that change over time. I don't even know if it would work. I don't want to always pass in and return the existing $messages array through the method every time I want to add a new message. I even tried using a session var for this, but that is obviously not suited for this purpose at all (it will always be 1 pageload too late). Any suggestions? Thanks!

    I've been perusing some hep forums and some help books but cant seem to get my head wrapped around this. My task is to read data from two text files and then load that data into an existing MS Access 2007 database. So here is what i'm trying to do: Read data from first text file and for every line of data add data to a DataTable using CarID as my unique field. Read data from second text file and look for existing CarID in DataTable if exists update that row. If it doesnt exist add a new row. once im done push the contents of the DataTable to the database. Is that not a waste of resources? Should i be trying something different if i want to update with new records? Once Im done with the first text file i then go to my next text file. Whats the best approach here: To First look for an existing record based on CarNum or to create a second table and then merge the two at the end? Finally when the DataTable is done being populated and im pushing it to the database i want to make sure that if records already exist with three primary fields (DriveDate, DCode, and CarNum) that they get updated with new fields and if it doesn't exist then those records get appended.     Has anyone tried creating end user (potentially online, potentially to be printed) help/documentation out of your cucumber scenarios? Or taken screenshots for use in documentation using RSpec and Selenium RC's ability to do so? For Cucumber, I'm imagining something like: Scenario: If you want to add a link Given I am on the edit blog post page When I press the "add link" button And I type in a link URL "http://stackoverflow.com" And I click "OK" Then the blog post should have 1 link Translating to the documentation: If you want to add a link, go to the edit blog post page. Press the "add link" button and type a URL, like "http://stackoverflow.com", into the link URL field. Click "OK". Would it be worth my time to try and, for one, write something to parse my Cucumber features into documentation, and two, to write/structure my Cucumber features in such a way as to create good documentation? Would the resulting documentation end up sounding really boring without much variation in the structure? Is there anything else out there like this idea? Doxygen looks like it's more for code documentation than end-user documentation. What about automatically taking screenshots? This seems like a more fruitful path-- just reuse the code that takes a screenshot when an RSpec test fails and have it take one in prescribed situations. Is there a better way to do this?

    Hi, When I moved my website over to another server I've noticed now that ajax doesn't appear to be working. When I remote desktop to the server and go to the url on the server i.e. http://myserver/mywebsite ... everything works ok. When I open up the website in visual studio on the server it works as no problem as well. It's only when I connect remotely that the 'javascript' error occurs.     The title suggests that i've already an idea what's going on, but i cannot explain it. I've tried to order a List<string[]> dynamically by each "column", beginning with the first and ending with the minimum Length of all arrays. I could do it statically in this way: someValues = someValues .OrderBy(t => t[0]) .ThenBy(t => t[1]) .ToList(); But if i don't know the number of "columns" i could use this loop(that's what I thought): int minDim = someValues.Min(t => t.GetLength(0)); // 2 IOrderedEnumerable<string[]> orderedValues = someValues.OrderBy(t => t[0]); for (int i = 1; i < minDim; i++) { orderedValues = orderedValues.ThenBy(t => t[i]); } someValues = orderedValues.ToList(); // IndexOutOfRangeException But that doesn't work, it fails with an IndexOutOfRangeException at the last line. The debugger tells me that i is 2 at that time, so the for-loop condition seems to be ignored, i is already == minDim. Why is that so?

    My web server runs at http://mypc.com:80 ` Given the following snip: $(window).load(function () { var myURL = "http://mypc.com:8000/PSOCharts/service/HighChart_ColumnChart/i"; $.getJSON(myURL) .done(function(data) {alert(data);}); }); I am running to this error: XMLHttpRequest cannot load http://mypc.com:8000/PSOCharts/service/HighChart_ColumnChart/i. Origin http://mypc.com is not allowed by Access-Control-Allow-Origin. I understand why (I think) b/c my webservice runs at port 8000 which is different from what IIS is running on (port 80). I thought I could get around by using jsonp (according to the jQuery documentation here So I copied the example of making a call to the flickr api, but it isnt working. Any thoughts/sugggestions? UPDATE Ok so my request is being made now: var myURL = "http://192.168.1.104:8000/PSOCharts/service/HighChart_ColumnChart/i?jsoncallback=?"; $.ajax({ url :myURL, dataType: "jsonp", success: function(data) {a(data)} , error: function(){alert("err");}, }); But I am continually hitting the error function, here is what's being returned: [1.4,54.43,49.39,93.23] Now I'm assuming this is b/c the response text doesnt contain any type of callback here is the part of the interface I'm calling: [WebInvoke(Method = "GET", RequestFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json, ResponseFormat = WebMessageFormat.Json, UriTemplate = "HighChart_ColumnChart/{id}?callback={cb}")] List<double> HighChart_ColumnChart(string id,string cb); Here is the actual function being called: public List<double> HighChart_ColumnChart(string id,string cb) { var z = new List<double>(); z.Add(1.4); z.Add(54.43); z.Add(49.39); z.Add(93.23); return z; } when I debug, the CB param is something like : "jQuery19108121746340766549_1372630643878". I have 2 models and 2 controllers – Products and Reviews with 'Products' hasMany 'Reviews' relationship, the review form will be displayed on the current product page (Products controller, 'view' action), and this form will be use another controller (Reviews). Also I need validation with validation errors being displayed for this form. In my Products controller view.ctp I have: // product page stuff... echo $this->Form->create($model = 'Review', array('url' => '/reviews/add')); echo $this->Form->input('name', array('label' => 'Your name:')); echo $this->Form->input('email', array('label' => 'Your e-mail:')); echo $this->Form->input('message', array('rows' => '6', 'label' => 'Your message:')); echo $this->Form->end('Send'); echo $this->Session->flash(); ReviewsController - add: public function add() { if ($this->request->is('post')) { $this->Review->save($this->request->data); $this->redirect(array('controller' => 'products', 'action' => 'view', $this->request->data['Review']['product_id'], '#' => 'reviews')); } } Somehow this horrible code works.. in part. Review saves, but I don't get validation errors, and I can't add 'if ($this->Review->save($this->request->data);) { //... } because it will break this action (missed view error). My question is how to properly deal with this situation to achieve functionality that I need? Should I use elements with request action or I should move adding reviews to the ProductsController?
