    Hello, I have an XML file that looks like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <PrivateSchool> <Teacher id="teacher1"> <Name> teacher1Name </Name> </Teacher> <Teacher id="teacher2"> <Name> teacher2Name </Name> </Teacher> <Student id="student1"> <Name> student1Name </Name> </Student> <Student id="student2"> <Name> student2Name </Name> </Student> <Lesson student="student1" teacher="teacher1" /> <Lesson student="student2" teacher="teacher2" /> <Lesson student="student3" teacher="teacher3" /> <Lesson student="student1" teacher="teacher2" /> <Lesson student="student3" teacher="teacher3" /> <Lesson student="student1" teacher="teacher1" /> <Lesson student="student2" teacher="teacher4" /> <Lesson student="student1" teacher="teacher1" /> </PrivateSchool> There's also a DTD associated with this XML, but I assume it's not much relevant to my question. Let's assume all needed teachers and students are well defined. What is the XPath query that returns the teachers' NAMES, that have at least one student that took more than 10 lessons with them? I was looking at many XPath sites/examples. Nothing seemed advanced enough for this kind of question... Thank you

    Using the following to load images base on two ids one is the and bookid and the out is the client. My folder structures is this. root path = flipbooks subfolders under flipbooks are books and clients in subfolder books I have and .net page title tablet. the tablet code behind checks the bookid of client and render a the tablet page with images in a flipbook fashion. because we have over 15000 records and flipbooks already created and stored in the database. I don't move the client folder under the books subfolders. I need the code below to get to the client subfolder in the query string and help to change this would be helpful. The result now is http://www.somewebsite.com/books/client/images/someimage1.jpg[^] I need the results to be http://www.somewebsite.com/client/images/someimage1.jpg[^]. I tried moving the tablet.aspx file to the root flipbooks and it works but i have provide a user name and password each time. This need to be access by the public and my root is protected. Don't want to have to change permission.     i'm having 2 tables: members and comments. I select all members, and then join comments. But in comments I'm selecting some SUM of points, and if user never commented, I can't get that user in listing?!   • In PHP + MySQL, How do I join many tables with conditions

    Hi, I'm trying to get the users full activity throughout the website. I need to Join many tables throughout the database, with that condition that it is one user. What I currently have written is: SELECT * FROM comments AS c JOIN rphotos AS r ON c.userID = r.userID AND c.userID = '$defineUserID'; But What it is returning is everything about the user, but it repeats rows. For instance, for one user he has 6 photos and 5 comments So I expect the join to return 11 rows. Instead it returns 30 results like so: PhotoID = 1; CommentID = 1; PhotoID = 1; CommentID = 2; PhotoID = 1; CommentID = 3; and so on... What am i doing wrong?

  • SQL to insert latest version of a group of items

    I’m trying to determine a good way to handle the scenario below. I have the following two database tables, along with sample data. Table1 contains distributions that are grouped per project. A project can have one or more distributions. A distribution can have one of more accounts. An account has a percentage allocated to it. The distributions can be modified by adding or removing account, as well as changing percentages. Table2 tracks distributions, assigning a version number to each distribution. I need to be able to copy new distributions from Table1 to Table2, but only under two conditions: 1. the entire distribution does not already exist 2. the distribution has been modified (accounts added/removed or percentages changed). Note: When copying a distribution from Table1 to Table2 I need to compare all accounts and percentages within the distribution to determine if it already exists. When inserting the new distribution then I need to increment the VersionID (max(VersionID) + 1). So, in the example provided the distribution (12345, 1) has been modified, adding account number 7, as well as changing percentages allocated. The entire distribution should be copied to the second table, incrementing the VersionID to 3 in the process. The database in question is SQL Server 2005.   • Google maps and J-Query: Individual markers?

    Hi there, I have created a Google maps mashup, where with a bit of input, I have managed to have a sidebar that links to a video icon/marker that then opens up an info window showing virtual tours. I would, however, like to put different coloured marker icons on the map depending on the category that the video is in. This would be easy enough to do, but my page is made up of a mixture of J-Query and JavaScript all calling to the individual flash files. Could someone help me with the code for adding extra marker icons for different categories?   • Best way to handle MySQL date for performance with thousands of users

    I am currently part of a team designing a site that will potentially have thousands of users who will be doing a number of date related searches. During the design phase we have been trying to determine which makes more sense for performance optimization. Should we store the datetime field as a mysql datetime. Or should be break it up into a number of fields (year, month, day, hour, minute, ...) The question is with a large data set and a potentially large set of users, would we gain performance wise breaking the datetime into multiple fields and saving on relying on mysql date functions? Or is mysql already optimized for this?

  • How to check with PHP does a SQL database already have

    I've tried to find the answer to this question but none of the answers fit. I have two databases, one has 15.000.000 entries and I want to extract the necessary data and store it in a much smaller database with around 33.000 entries. Both databases are open at the same time. Or at least they should be. While having the big database open and extracting the entries from it, is it possible to check whether the value already exists in the smaller database? I just need some generic way which checks that.

  • Can't fill a column of NULLs with actual values by making an association to the proper values in the

    I have a table with separate columns for months, days and a varchar column for 6 hour increments for each day ('12AM', '6AM', '12PM', '6PM'). There's also a column that's supposed to have calculated numeric values for each of those 6 hour increments. These calculated values come from some reference table. This reference table contains values for each day for several months broken down by hour where each hour has its own column. So, basically, I have to add the values for each 6 hour increment. I have no idea how to associate the correct values in the reference table to those 6 hour increments. I will really appreciate any help on this.

  • How can I select all records between two dates without using date fields?

    Hi, I have a MySQL DB and I need to be able to store dates earlier then 1970 - in my case, as early as 0 AD and earlier too, so I need a custom way to store dates. I have thought to use this format: Year - int(6) | Month -int(2) | day - int (2) | time - time | AD tinyint (1) | mya - int (11) But when it comes to actually using data in this format it becomes difficult. For example, if I want to get all records between two dates it would be like (pseudocode not SQL): get all where year between minYear and maxYear if year == minYear, month = minMonth if year == maxYear, month <= maxMonth if month == minMonth, day = minDay if month == maxMonth, day <= maxDay if day == minDay, time = minTime if day == maxDay, time <= maxTime or something, which seems like a right pain. I could store seconds before/after 0 AD, but that would take up way too much data! 2010 (EDIT: 2011) = 6.4 billion seconds since 0 AD. Does anybody have any ideas for this problem?
