  • Submit pdf form fields to a HTTP POST request

    - by Josjojo
    I've made a pdf form in Adobe Acrobat. Now I want to make a button that submits the form to a HTTP POST request. I have searched for about 4 hours, but I have not found an example to do this. Here I read that it is possible to send the pdf form fields with a HTTP submission, but there's also no example given: http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/form-submit-e-mail-demystified I'm looking for a JavaScript example that I can link to the submit button.

  • Bug in Safari: options.length = 0; not working as expected in Safari 4

    - by Stefan
    This is not a real question, but rather an answer to save some others the hassle of tracking this nasty bug down. I wasted hours finding this out. When using options.length = 0; to reset all options of a select element in safari, you can get mixed results depending on wether you have the Web Inspector open or not. If the web inspector is open you use myElement.options.length = 0; and after that query the options.length(), you might get back 1 instead of 0 (expected) but only if the Web Inspector is open (which is often the case when debugging problem like this). Workaround: Close the Web Inspector or call myElement.options.length = 0; twice like so: myElement.options.length = 0; myElement.options.length = 0; Testcase: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd"> <html> <head> <title>Testcase</title> <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" charset="utf-8"> function test(el){ var el = document.getElementById("sel"); alert("Before calling options.length=" + el.options.length); el.options.length = 0; alert("After calling options.length=" + el.options.length); } </script> </head> <body onLoad="test();"> <p> Make note of the numbers displayed in the Alert Dialog, then open Web inspector, reload this page and compare the numbers. </p> <select id="sel" multiple> <option label="a----------" value="a"></option> <option label="b----------" value="b"></option> <option label="c----------" value="c"></option> </select> </body> </html>

  • Why do custom styled Google Maps (v3) not support marker animation (pin drop)?

    - by Plum Pie
    For example, I cannot combine the concepts of this simple example: link text with the concepts of this example: link text, which uses the styled V3 api. In Chrome I get an error saying that: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'DROP' of undefined And it refers to this line of code: animation: google.maps.Animation.DROP, When I replace the javascript link reference to use the version of the API from the first example, the error goes away, but I lose the custom styling. I have not tried this in Firefox or IE. EDIT: Link to example: link text

  • New Comer to JS Looking for Guidance

    - by New Coder
    I'm fairly new to JavaScript. Can anyone share some good advice on getting started? I have a little experience in ActionScript 3 and have taken a few Java classes toward my CS degree but my background is of a designer transitioning into development. My goal is to become a well rounded front-end developer and I'd like to move beyond the simple slideshow animations and rollover effects. Any guidance/wisdom will be much appreciated!

  • Firebug shows error "_11 is undefined"

    - by Andrew
    Actually that's it. What does this error mean? I've googled on it, but found nothing. This error appears in firebug console after the page is loaded, or when i click on tabs. It does not prevent the execution of another JavaScript code, but the nature of it is mysterious for me.

  • jQuery Accordion /Tabs - Call different function upon load of content

    - by Scott
    I have the following markup: <body> <div id="tabs" style="float: left"> <ul> <li><a href="ajax/question_0.html" title="Question 1"><span>Question 1</span></a></li> <li><a href="ajax/question_1.html" title="Question 2"><span>Question 2</span></a></li> <li><a href="ajax/question_2.html" title="Question 3"><span>Question 3</span></a></li> <li><a href="ajax/question_3.html" title="Question 4"><span>Question 4</span></a></li> <li><a href="ajax/question_4.html" title="Question 5"><span>Question 5</span></a></li> <li><a href="ajax/question_5.html" title="Question 6"><span>Question 6</span></a></li> </ul> <div id="dynamicContent"> </div> </div> <div class="demo-description"> <p>Click tabs to see answers to Questions</p> </div> </body> I would like to utilize an accordion or the tabs plugin from the UI. Upon completion of the load event, I'd like to call a JavaScript function, but a different function for each tab -- almost like calling onDocumentReady for a page. I have the following JavaScript: $(function() { $('#tabs').tabs().bind('tabsselect', function(event, ui) { console.log("Loading: ajax/question_" + ui.index + ".html"); return true; //Ensure that the tab gets selected }); ); That's properly loading the Ajax file and all, but whenever I attempt to do something such as evaluating a statement in the JS, it seems to be ignored. Is there any way I can do this, so that once the file is loaded my function is called -- needs to be a different function for each tab.

  • client generated double submit cookie, cross site request forgery prevention

    - by james
    in a double-submitted cookie csrf prevention scheme, is it necessary for the server to provide the cookie? it seems i could have javascript on the clients page generate and set a cookie "anti_csrf", then double submit that (once as a cookie, done by the browser, and once in the body of the request). a foreign domain would not be able to read or write the "anti_csrf" cookie to include it in the body of a request. is this secure, or am i overlooking something?

  • Suppress "Done, but with errors on page" in IE

    - by calebthorne
    I have a website using lots of jQuery and JavaScript that produces a "Done, but with errors on page" message in the footer of IE. Everything on the site works perfectly, so I don't want to spend the time troubleshooting the exact error. All I would like to do is suppress the "Done, but with errors on page" message so that clients don't freak out. I tried the following at the top of the page with no success: window.onerror = function() {return true;}
