• Android: raise AlertDialog from background thread

  In my activity there's some stuff going on in a background thread, which gets started in Activity_1. The processing of the background thread takes a while and I want to notify the user when it's completed via an AlertDialog. However, the user might have changed to Activity_2 or Activity_3 in the meantime and I would like to pop up the AlertDialog always in the current Activity. Any idea how to realize this?

• Is the WebAii test automation framework dead?

  Is the WebAii framework still available and free? Am I just missing it? After putting it off for too long, I've finally started automated UI testing on my current project. I had WebAii from ArtOfTest on my list to look at, but it looks like it's been killed off by Telerik and now they're asking $1500 for their new WebUI test studio. I can't find anything definitive on Telerik's site, too much marketing. But, it seems to be pretty clear.

  Mac OS X Leopard has a virtual desktop implementation called Spaces. I want to programatically detect which space the user is currently on. Cocoa is preferable but AppleScript is acceptable if there's no other way. I've seen a couple of AppleScript implementations, but the techniques they used seemed a bit too hacky to use in production code (one relied on causing and error and then parsing the error message to get the current space, the other interrogated the Spaces menu GUI)

• Back-to-back ajax long poll without a recursive callback function.

  I'm trying to make long poll ajax calls, back to back. The problem with the current way I'm doing it is that I make each successive call from the callback function of the previous call. Is this a problem? Firebug doesn't show any of my ajax calls as completed, even thought the data is returned and the callback is executed. The recursive structure seems inefficient. Any ideas?

  Almost all is dialed in except then I click the pause/play button, the current activeSlide div doesn't fade in on rollover like the other slides do. Bit at a loss to figure out why it's not allowing hover even though it works when the cycle is not manually paused (i.e. when just rolling over the pager numbers). What I want to do go through all .productlistname and truncate the text and replace the current text with the truncated version. Here is what I have so far: $(".productlistname a").html($(".productlistname a").html().substring(0,10)); This just truncate the first one and replaces the rest of .productlistname with the truncated version of the first one.

• How do I gather TeamCity code coverage reports from multiple projects into one report?

  We use the build in coverage application in TeamCity 6 (about to upgrade to 7.1) If we wish to see the code coverage (or other metrics) of a particular build it is fine as we can navigate to that build, but it would be great if we could pluck out a few interesting metrics from all/some of the current projects/build configurations and display them all together. For convenience I would expect the new display to be accessible from within TeamCity itself, however if there are solutions that require a separate solution we could look at them. Thanks

  Hello, I have a datetime.datetime property var. I would like to know if it is less than one hour of the current time. Something like var.hour<datetime.datetime.today().hour - 1 Problem with the above syntax is that datetime.datetime.today().hour returns a number such as "10" and it is not really a date comparation but more of a numbers comparation.   Background Our email vendor supports rss feeds for dynamic content, which we use successfully for "daily headline" type emails. This is a great help in automating many different emails that we don't have staffing to create daily. One of our staff as requested that his daily email (which has recent headlines from his Movable Type blog) only have headlines from entries posted on that day. My Question Since we use Movable Type for his blog, is there a way to generate a rss feed that only contains items posted on the current day?
