  I'm experiencing some strange behavior: I have set the following policies: User Configuration\Administrative templates\Desktop\Active Desktop Enable active desktop [enabled] Active Desktop Wallpaper [set to local path -- quadruple checked; path is correct] Allow only bitmap wallpaper [disabled] gpupdate /force, log out, log back in, and the background is just black. • SVN Checkout URL - fresh install

  I just setup SVN on a server that is running Ubuntu server as a fresh install. I've got it up and running but am having difficult determining how to connect to it. I'm trying to do an import using the local IP address: http://IP/RepositoryName but it's saying it can't resolve the IP. I'm wondering if there's something on the server I need to setup. I have not modified dav_svn.conf because there is another server here that is running SVN (I'm migrating it to a new server) and it's dav_svn.conf is not modified. The current working SVN has a subdomain associated with the IP location of the server but doesn't do anything special with the ports as far as I can tell. I'm getting this error via RapidSVN when I try to import... Error: Error while performing action: OPTIONS of 'http://IP/RepositoryName': could not connect to server (http://IP) Any help would be appreciated

• How do I get nginx to issue 301 requests to HTTPS location, when SSL handled by a load-balancer?

  I've noticed that there's functionality enabled in nginx by default, whereby a url request without a trailing slash for a directory which exists in the filesystem automatically has a slash added through a 301 redirect. E.g. if the directory css exists within my root, then requesting http://example.com/css will result in a 301 to http://example.com/css/. However, I have another site where the SSL is offloaded by a load-balancer. In this case, when I request https://example.com/css, nginx issues a 301 redirect to http://example.com/css/, despite the fact that the HTTP_X_FORWARDED_PROTO header is set to https by the load balancer. Is this an nginx bug? Or a config setting I've missed somewhere?

  i'm simply using tshark -r botnet.pcap -T fields -E separator=';' -e ip.src -e tcp.srcport -e ip.dst -e tcp.dstport '(tcp.flags.syn == 1 and tcp.flags.ack == 0)' to see the all initiated "legal TCP" connections. However, i need the destination port number conversion to "http" "netbios" etc. i'm not using -n option, but still i get: 128.3.45.128;62259;208.233.189.150;80 This is what i'm trying to get: 128.3.45.128;62259;208.233.189.150;http or 128.3.45.128;62259;208.233.189.150;80;http is better option for me. any idea from tshark users? or any other tool suggestions?

  Gradients, including drop shadows, all show up as solid blocks when I view my document on an Android phone. I tried different PDF compression and compatibility settings in an attempt to flatten and rasterize all the graphics, but it's clearly not working, as the Android viewer still identifies the outlines of transparent shapes instead of the blended pixels. Is there any way to truly flatten these PDF graphics, so that it doesn't matter whether a PDF viewer supports transparency, while keeping the text as text?

  I installed TeamCity and enabled NuGet server, both Authenticated Feed and Public Feed. When I try to push packages to the server with the following command: > nuget push package.nupkg [API-Key-here] -s http://myserver/httpAuth/app/nuget/v1/FeedService.svc/ I get the following prompt: Please provide credentials for: http://myserver/httpAuth/app/nuget/v1/FeedService.svc/ And asks me for both "UserName" and "Password". I've tried entering credentials for TeamCity administrator and Windows administrator, but nothing works. So I tried pushing to the Public Feed with the following command: > nuget push package.nupkg [API-Key-here] -s http://myserver/guestAuth/app/nuget/v1/FeedService.svc/ Then I get the following: Failed to process request.   After about half a day the IIS 6.0 ASP (VBScript) web server appears to die. It accepts TCP connections (i.e. I can telnet localhost 80 successfully) however it does not return any response.   I can access my local dev site on my local pc, eg: http://mysite But I cannot access the live site, even though it works fine on other pc's: http://www.mysite.com The live site gives the error in Firefox: Server Not Found. Pinging www.mysite.com gives the error:"Ping request could not find host www.mysite.com" hosts file: 127.0.0.1 mysite I changed the hosts file to the following and rebooted: 127.0.0.1 mysitedev I'm running on XP, and have cleared the DNS cache using: ipconfig /flushdns I have verified the live site is up using: http://www.isup.me/ and the site loads fine using my phone. What could be preventing my local pc from accessing the live site?

• Apache 2.2 on Mountain Lion ignoring ProxyPass and sending request to DocumentRoot

  I have sickbeard running at 127.0.0.1:8081/sickbeard ProxyRequests Off ProxyPass /sickbeard http://127.0.0.1:8081/sickbeard ProxyPassReverse /sickbeard http://127.0.0.1:8081/sickbeard in httpd.conf And yet when I try and access http://example.com/sickbeard/ it gives me a 404, with this in the error log. File does not exist: /Library/Server/Web/Data/Sites/Default/sickbeard Which I think means it's ignoring the ProxyPass and ProxyPassReverse directives? Anyone know why this may be? For what it's worth, this setup used to work under Lion.   Howdie Scenario: Allow developers to submit new application packages to a market server. Developers run a bash script which contains a cURL call to market server (localhost/market/submit/$app-name). The submit script on the server creates a new folder in existing svn server with the name of the submitted app. Script on dev side waits for HTTP to issue a success message and then do a svn checkout in dev local machine. Problem: The submit script on the market server failed to create new svn directory through code: echo `svnadmin mkdir -m 'added new package $package' http://localhost/market/packages/$package`; this does not echo nothing and when I go on http://localhost/market/packages, the folder has not been added and the revision number has not been incremented. I've tried from a terminal in market server chown root:www-data /usr/bin/svnadmin but still no luck. Somebody has come acrosss similar problem? Any solutions? Thanks!   I'm running a PgSQL 8.1 on a CentOS 4.4 system (not upgradable unfortunately). There's a Java app running on top of the PgSQL daemon and we got to reindex the database every 2 months or so. Also important: the database isn't growing. It looks like the bloat is now coming faster than before and this tends to increase. • Apache vs Lighttpd: Weird behavior in reverse proxy mode.

  Context: I have an Apache server running in reverse proxy mode in front of a Tomcat java server. It handle HTTP and HTTPS and send those request back and forth to the Tomcat server on an internal HTTP port. Goal: I'm trying to replace the reverse proxy with Lighttpd. Problem: while asking for the same HTTPS url, while using Apache as the reverse proxy, the Tomcat server redirect (302) to an HTTPS page but with Lighttpd it redirect to the same page in HTTP (not HTTPS). Question: What does Lighttpd could do different in order to have a different result from the backend server? In theory, using Apache or Lighttpd server as a reverse proxy should not change anything... but it does. Any idea? I'll try to find something by sniffing the traffic on the backend tomcat server.

  I'm trying to add Active Directory single-sign-on support to an existing SOAP server. The server can be configured to accept a trusted reverse-proxy and use the X-Remote-User HTTP header for the authenticated user. I want to configure IIS to be the trusted proxy for this service, so that it handles all of the Active Directory authentication for the SOAP server. Basically IIS would have to accept HTTP connections on port X and URL Y, do all the authentication, and then proxy the connection to a different server (most likely the same X and Y). Unfortunately, I have no knowledge of IIS or AD (so I am trying my best to learn enough to build this solution) so please be gentle. I would assume that this is not an uncommon scenario, so is there some easy way to do this? Is this sort of functionality built into IIS or do I need to build some sort of IIS proxy program myself? Is there a better option for getting the authentication done and the X-Remote-User HTTP header set than requiring IIS?

• Running PHP 5.2 FastCGI + Apache on CentOS 5 issue

  I am trying to setup 2 versions of PHP on Centos 5.9 using this tutorial: http://linuxplayer.org/2011/05/intall-multiple-version-of-php-on-one-server. I have followed I have installed default 5.4.19, and I was trying to setup another 5.2.17 PHP version to be run with Fast CGI and I followed the second part completely. However, when I try to run http://web2.example.com it returns 500 error message. In the apache log there are only 2 lines that repeat: [notice] mod_fcgid: call /var/www/web2/index.php with wrapper /usr/local/php52/bin/fcgiwrapper.sh and [notice] mod_fcgid: process /var/www/web2/index.php(25250) exit(server exited), terminated by calling exit(), return code: 255 Please note that I had to add .php at the and of the FCGIWrapper because apache would not start without it: FCGIWrapper /usr/local/php52/bin/fcgiwrapper.sh .php Also please note that http://web1.example.com with PHP 5.4.19 is working absolutely fine.   We have a TFS2010 install on a Win2008R2 Server running IIS7. I've created a host header for TFS and want to use that instead of machineName:8080. I am getting weird behavior from it now. Every other time I log in I get: TF31002: Unable to connect to this Team Foundation Server: http://web2/tfs. Team Foundation Server Url: http://web2/tfs. Possible reasons for failure include: - The name, port number, or protocol for the Team Foundation Server is incorrect. - The Team Foundation Server is offline. - The password has expired or is incorrect. Technical information (for administrator): The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found. I force a reconnect and voila - there it is. Also, connecting to the web site rarely works but connecting via VS2010 works 50% of the time. What do i need to change to stabilize this?
