  • Can I minify Javascript that requires copyright notice?

    I guess this is actually a legal question, but it relates to software. I'm about to include a JS plugin in a project. The comments include: Redistributions of source code must retain the above copyright notice, this list of conditions and the following disclaimer. * Redistributions in binary form must reproduce the above copyright notice, this list of conditions and the following disclaimer in the documentation and/or other materials provided with the distribution. Is using this in my web site "redistribution?" If I minify this to conserve bandwidth, I assume it will strip all comments. If the answer to #1 is yes, doesn't that imply I'm legally not allowed to minify it? (That would stink, since I was planning to auto-minify all JS as part of the deploy process.)

  • Converting Audio To Video Output and Attaching Text?

    I am currently working on a project and before i get started i thought it'd be nice to check with stackOverflow community, and see maybe they can help me with this. The Idea: I have about a thousand MP3 files that i need to convert into Video files to be upload on Youtube for my work. Here is where it gets tricky i need to also attach the Text associated with the Audio to the Video as an Image. I was thinking .ppt. The Problem: I can do this one audio file at a time but it would take me a zillion years. lol!! The Question: Can I Create Some Kind Of Program Using Let's Say XML or JavaScript Or XHTML or some other programming language to do a MASS content creation and all i have to do is feed it the Information?? possibly a script?? or is it possible to create an example .ppt file and then hack it so that i can have it reproduce itself with different information??     After I installed Visual Studio 2010 I was having a difficult time editing .js files in Visual Studio. I habitually type the "(" character as soon as the function I want to call is highlighted in the Intellisense window, but in 2010 this behavior was no longer auto-completing the function name. At first I thought this behavior was due to the new "suggestion mode" in Intellisense, but no amount of toggling with CTRL+ALT+SPACE would bring back the auto-complete behavior.     I have a QAbstractItemView that needs to react to single and double click events. The actions are different depending on whether it was single clicked or double clicked. The problem that is occurring is that the single click event is received prior to the double click event. Is there a recommended way/best practice for distinguishing between the two? We are currently using the Ext 4.0 framework but there are questions being raised that it may not be the right framework to use. I like what Ext has to offer (rich GUIs, data package and class system) are there other frameworks out there that are similar? Are there frameworks out there tailored to medium/large software companies? Info: Potentially 100's of developers converting thick client screens to the web.
