• C# extern int ? How do I make a global var across classes and namespaces ?

Public static extern int EventCount; Is not working; the VS2010 compiler won't let me have an extern int. Even with a DLLImport. • Correct structure and way of website versioning

  Recently I use GIT to version my website. It makes it all really easy to see how my project develops and I always have save backups on different places on the web. Now my main question is if it is recommended to version your whole root of the website. I have a basic structure that looks something like this: /httpdocs /config /media /application index.php .htaccess 1) Should I use the /httpdocs folder to version, or should I use the content of the folder. 2) Is it recommended to version the media folder. In the media version I have several images for the overall layout, and some other images for the website. These imagas can be quite large. I work on these images from time to time and so they change. I hardly never need the old image again, so is this not just taking up precious storage space. I would highly appreciate just some basic recommendation on this topic.

• jQuery: selecting by class after class change by .addClass() or .attr()

  I have some jQuery code something like this: $(document).ready(function() { $("img.off").click(function() { alert('on'); $(this).attr('class', 'on'); }); $("img.on").click(function() { alert('off'); $(this).attr('class', 'off'); }); }); The selector works fine for images that have the class name defined in the original HTML document, however after manipulating the class name with jQuery, the img item will not respond to selectors using it's new class. In other words, running the above code, if you click an 'off' img, it will trigger the first function, and change the class to 'on'. However, clicking this image again does not trigger the second function (as I would have expected), but rather triggers the first again. It's as if the selector is reading the old DOM rather than the updated version. What am I doing wrong here? Firefox 3.6.3 - jQuery 1.4.2

• Why are web developers so keen to use lists ?

  I've been developing for a while and often develop sites using menu tabs. And I can't figure out why so many web developers like using lists < ul < li etc rather than just using plain old divs. I can make menus in divs which are simple and work perfectly in every browser. With lists, I'm usually trying to hack it one way or another to get it work properly. So my question is simple : why should I use lists to create my menus instead of divs ?

  I have an old c++ application that needs to be modified to work with windows 7. Problem is in creating a new folder and saving a file in that folder. This folder should be created in c:\program files\myApp\data\newFolder. If I run application as administrator than the folder is created, otherwise "Access is denied" error is thrown. My question is following: Is there an option to make changes to the code so that the folder can be created in "program files" nad that files can be saved in this folder? • Deploy java (command line) app using Netbeans / ant

  I've finally managed to create a Netbeans project out of an old standalone (not Web-) Java application which consisted only out of single .java sources. Now I have basically two questions regarding Netbeans Subversion interaction and application deployment: Do you check in all the Netbeans project files into the repository, normally? If I build the project using Netbeans (or ant) I get a .jar file and some additional jar libraries. In order for the app to run properly on the server, some additional config files and directories (log/ for example) are needed. The application itself is a J2SE application (no frameworks) which runs from the command line on a Linux platform. How would you deploy and install such an application? It would also be nice if I could see what version of app is currently installed (maybe by appending the version number to the installed app path). Thanks for any tips.

• alter mysqldump file before import

  Hi-- I have a mysqldump file created from an earlier version of a product that can't be imported into a new version of the product, since the db structure has changed slightly (mainly altering a column that was NOT NULL DEFAULT 0 to UNIQUE KEY DEFAULT NULL). If I just import the old dump file, it will error out since the column that has default values of 0 now breaks the UNIQUE constraint. It would be easy enough to either manually alter the mysqldump file, or import into a temp table and change it, then copy to the new table. However, is there a way to do this programatically, so it will be repeatable and not manual? (this will need to happen for many instances of this product). I'm thinking something like disabling key constraints for the import, then setting all values that = 0 to NULL, then re-enabling the key constraints? Is this possible? Any help appreciated.

• MVC Model Binding to a collection where collection does not begin with a 0 index

  I'm trying to perform remote validation on a property of an item within a collection. The validation works OK on the first item of the collection. The http request to the validation method looks like: /Validation/IsImeiAvailable?ImeiGadgets[0].ImeiNumber=123456789012345 However on the 2nd item where the url looks like below, the validation doesn't work /Validation/IsImeiAvailable?ImeiGadgets[1].ImeiNumber=123456789012345 Now I'm pretty sure the reason for this, is that binding wont work on a collection that doesn't begin with a zero index. My validation method has a signature as below: public JsonResult IsImeiAvailable([Bind(Prefix = "ImeiGadgets")] Models.ViewModels.ImeiGadget[] imeiGadget) Because I'm passing an item within a collection I have to bind like this yet what I'm really passing is just a single value. Is there anyway I can deal with this other than just binding it as a plain old query string. Thanks Edit: This is the quick fix to get the Imei variable but I'd rather use the model binding: string imeiNumber = Request.Url.AbsoluteUri.Substring(Request.Url.AbsoluteUri.IndexOf("=")+1);

• InfoPath browser form submitting dirty fields changed through javascript

  I'm trying to submit an InfoPath browser form with fields that have been modified through the Spell Checker included in Sharepoint server. The spell checker checks all the fields in the page and once the user closes the SpellChecker dialog, it changes the textboxes with the new values through javascript. When I click Submit, debug the FormEvents_Submit in the form code behind and try to do a GetNodeValue("XPath to changed field"), it still shows the old values. I realize that this may be a problem of doing postbacks and I'd like to do a full page postback once the SpellChecker is done changing all the textboxes. Any suggestions would be appreciated. • jQuery textbox required validation based on another text box having text

  Pretty basic question, however, I am very new to jQuery and javascript in general. I have a jQuery validation that is requiring a text box to have text in it, if a checkbox is checked. <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function () { $("form").validate( { rules: { Comments: { required: "#IsAbnormal:checked" } }, messages: { Comments: { required: "Comments are required" } }, onkeyup: false, wrapper: "", errorLabelContainer: "#ErrorMessageBox" }); }); Pretty straight forward, if you check the IsAbnormal checkbox, it will throw a validation if there are no comments. What I am trying to do is require a textbox based on if another text box has any text in it, for instance require the old password if a user enters a new password into a textbox. • Replace existing XML file within iPhone app

  Hey, I have an .xml file that is going to be shipped within my app. This file contains values that are read from it and saved as an array when the app launches. Each time the app is run, I want to check with the server if there is an internet connection. If so, I want to get the newest version of the .xml file from the server and replace the one that I currently have saved in my app (this way, the next time the user logs in and doesn't have internet access, he/she will be able to use the old (yet most up to date) data). • Password remember does not work as needed

  On the website I am working on it has been deployed but the problem I am facing is that when I enter a username and password and click on the check box to remember...It remembers the password for sometime.. wen I login in after 5 or 10 minutes it remembers the password but aftr a long period of time like about 2hours it forgets the username and password and i have to type it in all over again... this dint used to happen with the old server as even I could sign in and it remembered the password the next day until i log off... what can be the reason The session state im using is:

• SSPI Errors for SQL Server Authentication?!

  We have several old ASP and PHP web applications which use SQL Server Authentication. Periodically, all the applications lose the ability to connect to our SQL Server 2000 database server, getting access denied. Corresponding to roughly the same times, we are getting 1115 Cannot generate SSPI Context SQLSTATE HY000 errors on the SQLServer 2000 server. And here's the weird part - rebooting the web server fixes the problem. Rebooting the database server has no effect. This makes no sense to me - I didn't think SSPI was in any way involved with SQL Server Authentication. Any ideas? Edit: Some additional details: The web server is in the DMZ. The hosts file on the web server has an entry for the database server (and the ip address is correct), so the web server (theoretically at least) shouldn't even be going to DNS to connect to the database server. It does not appear to be a firewall issue.

  I have a website, which has numerous subdirectories already. (All existing in server's filesystem) I want to create new "virtual" sub-dirs with htaccess, but I only want the htaccess rule work for directories, listed in DB, and not existing in filesystem. i.e. File system has: /dir1/ & /dir2/ MySQL database has record for 'dir3' & 'dir4' And I want: A: mysite.com/dir1/ and mysite.com/dir2/ display existing old content B: mysite.com/dir3/ and mysite.com/dir4/ display content from MySQL provided by PHP sctipt via redirect like: mysite.com/myscript.php?dir=dir3 C: mysite.com/dir5/ display 404 error (Dir does not exist in DB nor in Database) Basically I want .htaccess to work like this: IF DIR Exists in DB - apply the rewrite rule and show content from myscript.php?dir=DIR ELSE don't apply any rule. I can create a separate php script, which can return 0/1 when given dir name exist in DB or not, but how do I make mod_rewrite get the data from that script? Is it possible with htaccess/PHP at all?

• MSVC++ 6.0: Fatal error C1509 "Too many exception handler states in function"

  I'm working on a project that uses a lot of generated files for a GUI. After some recent updates, I get this error. If I remove some controls (the new ones or some old ones, doesn't seem to matter which), the error goes away. I've temporarily worked around the problem, but I'd like a more permanent solution. I've seen mentioned on the web that there's a fix for this in VS.Net 2003, but I can't find anything for 6.0. Does anyone know of a hotfix or service pack that fixes this?

• sqlsrv_connect() not found..

  Hey, I recently am working on an projekt that uses the "SQL Server Driver for PHP", i wanted to upgrade the existing driver to the new version (2.0), because I need some of the functions that have been implemented there. Now i replaced the old .dll in the php/ext directory and restarted the webserver. But now i recieve the following error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function sqlsrv_connect() in E:\ProjekteExtern\hades_apl\classes\sql\sqlsrv.class.php on line 34 But if i run phpinfo();, sqlsrv shows up, in the same way as the previous version did. • MDX filter members in a sum-function

  I have an SSAS cube containing customers and their purchased memberships (let's say magazines). I want to calculate the retention. I.e. how many customers remain a customer. To do this I specify a set (males, 30yrs, 1 january 2011). I want to see if this set - identified by a customer number - is still present in the following months. I named my set MySet2. What I try to do is: sum(measures.amount, [membership].[name].&[X], MySet2, [date].[date].currentmember) However, the result is incorrect. The number is far to low. I suspect it still tries to account for all the males of 30 years old, but after a year they're not 30 anymore. What am I missing? I looked at scope and filter, but I'm not sure how to apply it.

  Hi, hows it going, I have searched through the forums and good old google and have found many answers but non seem to work on my page. Anyway here is the question, I have 2 divs that are positioned side by side, and I wish to get rid of the whitespace www.blisshair.com.au/test.html :(http://www.blisshair.com.au/test.html) I want to the black from the "link 1" to join to the main content in the center, Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank you. EDIT: Tried opening in Internet explorer 8 and it seems top exactly how I want it, besides the 2 bottom divs not lining up, Is it possible to do this with an UL and SPAN tags ? I am aiming for a tabbed look, for example, when you click on link 2, the background around link 2 goes black and the black color "flows" into the main content page, sorry if this doesnt make sense, early AM here :D Thanks again
