• Can anyone get this project to work? (EasyHook)

  Hi, i'm trying to 'load' the following project into visual studio 2010 but im getting errors about dynamic link libraries not being found. I have manually referenced them but it doesnt like them. The project is: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/DLL/EasyHook64.aspx 2nd link down (EasyHook_2.5_Beta_Source_Code), and the project im wishing to load is EasyHook_2.5_Beta_Source_Code\Examples\ProcessMonitor The two dlls plus 1 executable i need are found in the first link (EasyHook 2.5 beta binaries) and named EasyHook.dll, EasyHook32.dll and EasyHook32svc.exe I've been trying to do this all night but i wonder whether its because im using VS2010 and .NET 4.0?? I'd be so appreciative if someone could have a go themselves just to see if its my setup or they get errors to. The error i get is: Unable to load DLL 'EasyHook32.dll': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)

• Font Times New Roman 11,25 Regular is not supported in telerik reporting.

  Hi all.. I'm having some trouble exporting to PDF in Telerik Reporting Q2 2008. It seems that for some reason, exporting to PDF ( or printing, which is the same, it first exports to PDF, and then prints ), is giving me this error. First it started with Arial, I found the bug with the font Arial, replaced the textbox with Times New Roman, and it keeps on giving me this error. The strange thing, is that this only happens on the production server ( Windows Server 2008 ), on my development machine, this works flawlessly, I even tried to copy the fonts from my windows font folder, to my production server, but that didn't help anything... Does someone know what is happening? EDIT: Problem solved...a server reboot solved the problem instantly, unfortunately at the time I posted this question I couldn't do a server restart, later that day ( at night ) my boss restarted the server and all was good again.. Thanks all..

• Can iptables allow Squid to process a request, then redirect the response packets to another port?

  I'm trying to test a fancy traffic analyzer app, which I have running on port 8890. My current plan is to let any HTTP request come into Squid, on port 3128, and let it process the request, and then just before it sends the response back, use iptables to redirect the response packets (leaving port 3128) to port 8890. I've researched this all night, and tried many iptables commands, but I'm missing something and my hair is falling out. Is this even possible? If so, what iptables incantation could do it? If not, any idea what might work on a single host, given multiple remote browser clients?

• Check if a php script is still running

  I have a script that listens to a jabber server and responds accordingly. Though it's not supposed to stop, last night it did. Now I want to run a cron job every minute to check if the script is running, and start it if not. The question is, how do I check if a particular script is still running? Some solutions have been posted here, but those are all for Linux, while I am looking for a Windows solution. Any ideas please? Thanks.

• Get user-inputed file name from JFileChooser Save dialog box

  This answer to this question may seem obvious, but I'm actually struggling with it quite a bit. I've searched through JFileChooser methods in the API, and I've looked at some of the questions already asked and answered here on stackoverflow. My question is this. In my program, I am to allow the user to type in a file name which I will then use to create a brand new file that I will write on. How do you get the text the user has entered in the textfield next to the label "Save As:" on the Save dialog box provided by JFileChooser? Is there a JFileChooser method that would allow me to get that user-inputed text? Or would I have to go through another class, or do something else to get that text? Thank you so much, to anyone who answers. It's very late for me now, and this program is due in a few hours (meaning I'll be having another sleepless night). Desperate may be too strong a word, but I'm something close enough.

• ETL mechanisms for MySQL to SQL Server over WAN

  I’m looking for some feedback on mechanisms to batch data from MySQL Community Server 5.1.32 with an external host down to an internal SQL Server 05 Enterprise machine over VPN. The external box accumulates data throughout business hours (about 100Mb per day), which then needs to be transferred internationally across a WAN connection to an internal corporate environment before some BI work is performed. This should just be change-sets making their way down each night. I’m interested in thoughts on the ETL mechanisms people have successfully used in similar scenarios before. SSIS seems like a potential candidate; can anyone comment on the suitability for this scenario? Alternatively, other thoughts on how to do this in a cost-conscious way would be most appreciated.   Hi folks, long night... can't get my second Celery/RabbitMQ setup run to work. step 1 sudo rabbitmq-server runs: ok! step 2 python manage.py celeryd -l info error: [2010-12-28 03:38:24,690: ERROR/MainProcess] CarrotListener: Connection Error: Socket closed. Trying again in 28 seconds... I have definitely: added rabbitmq user and vhost updated the Django setings.py Edit: I think it might have to with installing from a .deb instead of apt-get. After uninstalling the deb and installing the apt-get version I get this: invoke-rc.d: initscript rabbitmq-server, action "start" failed. dpkg: error processing rabbitmq-server (--configure): subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 Errors were encountered while processing: rabbitmq-server E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) Any ideas on how I could debug this? :|

• Stuck at "Hello World" with IntelliJ IDEA 9.0.1 for Scala

  I've been using Eclipse since 2.x and and IDEs in general for over 20 years (since Turbo Pascal and Turbo C in the late '80s!). (that preamble is supposed to imply, "I'm not an idiot" ... LOL :-] ) I'm trying to use the debugger in IntelliJ 9.0.1. I've resigned myself to an old standby: class hello { def main(a: Array[String]) = println("got args: " + a) } Alas, I'm unable to get even this simple Scala example to run. I'd like to eventually put a breakpoint in it, but for now just running it would be great. I have Java 1.6u20 and the Scala plug-in 0.3.473 (January 2010). • How to make a Webservice request follow a redirect?

  My application neeeds to access a third part web service. Of late, they have introduced a load balancer, which redirects to the server. Because of this the webservice gets a 302 - Redirect error as response. In the SOAPUI, I was able to enable a property called "Follow Redirect", and because of this service followed the redirect and served by the server. Now is there a similar propety that can be turned on in the code, which would make the webservice follow the request? (The calling code is java and the webservice is in .net)

Altogether we're parsing millions of "user" nodes. 2.In each iteration we parse a "user" xml, do custom deserialization 3.finally, in each iteration, we send our object to nhibernate for saving. We use: .SaveOrUpdateAndFlush(user); This is a lengthy process, and we thought it would be a perfect candidate for testing out the .NET 4.0 Parallel libraries. So we wrapped the loop in a: Parallel.ForEach(); After doing this, we start getting "random" Timeout Exceptions from SQL Server, and finally, after leaving it running all night, OutOfMemory unhandled exceptions. I haven't done deep debugging on this yet, but what do you guys think. Is this simply a limitation of SQL Server, or could it be our NHibernate setup, or what? cheers andy

• Carrier Wave not completing upload to Rackspace Cloud Files

  Hello, I have been attempting to get file uploads to Rackspace Cloud Files online all night, and finally tried the Carrierwave Plugin. Although the plugin worked right away, when I tried viewing the file uploaded (an image) it was broken. Upon further testing, I found out that files would upload to Cloud Files, however were just a fraction of their original size. I can't seem to figure out what's worng, and any help would be greatly appreciated. • How do you make sure email you send programmatically is not automatically marked as spam?

  This is a tricky one - and I've always relied on techniques such as permission-based emails (i.e. only sending to people you have permission to send to) and not using blatantly spamish terminology. Of late, some of the emails I send out programmatically have started being shuffled into people's spam folder automatically - and I'm wondering what i can do about it. This is despite the fact that these particular emails are not ones that humans would mark as spam (specifically, they are emails that contain license keys that people have paid good money for, so I don't think they're going to consider them spam) I figure this is a big topic in which I am essentially an ignorant simpleton.

• .Net opening and closing database connections

  I designed the data access portion of our framework so that every time a business object needs to interact with the database it would have to open a connection, invoke the data access layer (to execute the query), and then close the connection. Then if it needed to run in a transaction it would open the connection, begin the transaction, invoke the data access layer (to execute the query) and then commit the transaction, close the transaction, and finally close the connection. I did it this way with the mindset of open late and close early... but what if I needed to call other BO's to submit data in a single transaction? Is there a better way to handle opening and closing connections as well as working with transactions? I'm a rookie in designing application architecture so I hope I'm not doing this wrongly... any help is appreciated.

  We need to read data from FoxPro 8 with C#. I'm gonna do some operations, and will push some of thoses data to an SQL Server database. We are not sure what's best method to read those data. I saw OLE DB and ODBC; what's best? REQUIRMENTS: The export program will run each night, but my company runs 24h a day. The DBF could sometimes be huge. We DON'T need to modify data. Our system, wich use FoxPro, is quite unstable: I need to find a way that ABSOLUTELY do not corrupt data, and, ideally, do not lock DBF files while reading. Speed is a minor requirement: it must be quick, but requirement #4 is most important.

• Dangers of Windows API and Administrator accounts?

  I wrote a game server plugin last night that allowed me to create a user account and set it as administrator, which is a huge problem. Of course the simple fix is to create a basic user account with limited privileges for the game servers, so they would not have access to do things like this. I wanted to find out if there's anything else in the Windows API that would create such a huge vulnerability though? I guess I want to just make sure that when the client's game servers accounts are moved to limited access accounts, we won't have to worry about any of them using the windows API to sabotage the machines. There is already enough exploits in the game itself to worry about, without having to worry about client's taking over the machines with plugins lol. Some of the questions relative would be... Can you disable/enable Remote Desktop from c++? Can you get a list of AD user groups from c++? (not that a user belongs to, but a complete list)

• MySQL INTO OUTFILE overide existing file?

  I've written a big sql script that creates a CSV file. I want to call a cronjob every night to create a fresh CSV file and have it available on the website. Say for example I'm store my file in '/home/sites/example.com/www/files/backup.csv' and my SQL is SELECT * INTO OUTFILE '/home/sites/example.com/www/files/backup.csv' FIELDS TERMINATED BY ',' OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"' LINES TERMINATED BY '\n' FROM ( .... MySQL gives me an error when the file already exists File '/home/sites/example.com/www/files/backup.csv' already exists Is there a way to make MySQL overwrite the file? I could have PHP detect if the file exists and delete it before creating it again but it would be more succinct if I can do it directly in MySQL.

• sending instant messages through python (msn)

  ok I am well aware there are many other questions about this, but I have been searching and have yet to find a solid proper answer that doesnt revolve around jabber or something worse. (no offense to jabber users, just I don't want all the extras that come with it) I currently have msnp and twisted.words, I simply want to send and receive messages, have read many examples that have failed to work, and msnp is poorly documented. My preference is msnp as it requires much less code, I'm not looking for something complicated. • Is there any way to set or code breakpoints conditionally?

  I've been wondering this for a while - is there a way to code/program breakpoints...? Conditionally? For example, can I specify something like - "when this variable becomes this value, break and open the debugger"? (Would be quite useful, especially in long loops when you want to debug loop execution of a late loop value.) I suppose this may be IDE-specific since debugging is implemented differently in different IDEs... I'd be interested to know how to do this in any IDE, but specifically in Eclipse and Visual Studio.

• Capture Flash Audio in 4.7 Edge?

  Is there a way to capture plugin (Flash) audio before it gets to the sound card? I'd like to record plugin audio, hopefully without actually playing the sound. Capturing audio at the device level is an absolute last resort, as the application would pick up all system audio rather than just the Webkit plugin. I'm aware of the recent switch back from QTMultimedia; is this possible with phonon? I spent the night looking for some way to access the phonon graph via QWebFrame (or any of the QtWebkit widgets) -- and didn't turn up much. I also started digging through QTWebkit, particularly NPAPI, without success. For reference, I'm using the edge version of 4.7 (6aa50af000f85cc4497749fcf0860c8ed244a60e) This seems to be a fairly challenging problem. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

  I'm trying to get my head round this (okay, tbh cramming a night before the exams :) but i can't figure out (nor find a good high level overview on the net) of this: 'page table entries can be mapped to more than one TLB entry.. if for example every page table entry is mappped to two TLB entries, this is know as 2-way set associative TLB' My question is, why would we want to map this more than once? surely we want to have the maximum number of possible entries represented in the TLB, and duplication would waste space right ? What am i missing? Many thanks

• Jersey message body reader not found in maven-built JAR

  My application uses a REST (JAX-RS Jersey) interface. When I run it in Eclipse, everything' s fine. The domain objects are annotated, I'm not using XML files for the REST mapping. Now I created a standalone JAR using the maven-assembly-plugin, which packs the application and all dependencies in a single, executable JAR file. This also seems to work. But when I start the application and request an object from the server, Jersey complains, that it can't find a message body reader: com.sun.jersey.api.client.ClientHandlerException: A message body reader for Java type, class de.rybu.atuin.core.entity.User, and MIME media type, application/json, was not found Any ideas why this happens? EDIT: After I slept a night over it, I noticed that it complains about JSON... but I'm using only XML for serialization. Strange.

• Help with complex sql query

  To make story short, i'm building self-learning banner management system. Users will be able to insert these banners to their site when banners will be shown based on sales/impressions ratio. I have 4 tables Banners bannerID int bannerImage varchar.... SmartBanners smartBannerID int smartBannerArrayID int bannerID int impressionsCount int visibility tinyint (percents) SmartBannerArrays smartBannerArrayID int userID int Statistics bannerID int saleAmountPerDay decimal... Each night i need to generate new "visibility" for each SmartBanner based on whole SmartBannerArray that same user has. So i need to get sum of impressions and sales for each bannerID in SmartBannerArray. All comes to my mind is to use double cursor, one will loop thought SmartBannerArrays get needed values for sum of impressions and sales and then inner loop which will access each SmartBanner and change it's "visibility" percentage based on (sales/impressions)/(sumOfSales/sumOfImpressions)*100 Hope you get the picture... Is there any other way to design better tables or not to use double cursor to avoid server overload ?

  Hi, I would like to unit test a DEPENDENT service layer which allows me to perform CRUD operation without mocking using NUnit. I know this is probably bad practice but I want to give it a try anyway - even if the tests have to run over night. My data is persisted using NHibernate and I have implemented a little library that 'bootstraps' the database which I could use in a [Setup] method. I am just wondering if someone has done something similar and what the fastest method for bootstrapping the database is. I am using something like this: var cfg = new Configuration(); cfg.Configure(); cfg.AddAssembly("Bla"); new SchemaExport(cfg).Execute(false, true, false); to establish the db schema. After that I populate some lookup tables from some Excel tables. Any feedback would be very much appreciated. Thanks. Christian

• rundll32.exe constantly running taking up resources slowing down my Win 7 computer

  Over the past week, my Windows 7 Home Premium computer (8gb RAM, 64bit) has been running slowly. When I look at my processes, there are always 2 rundll32.exe's running taking up 3 & 25% CPU power, memory slowly creeping upwards from around 115mb to 160mb each in the time it has taken me to right this message, sometimes popping upt o 300mb and back down. Svchost.exe is at 260mb. When I end those processes, everything returns to snappiness. I recently did some Windows Updates, and I think it was around the time my computer started acting slowly, but I can't remember if it was before or after the updates that things started running slowly. Last night I ccleaned & defrag'ed. How can I diagnose what's causing the slowness?
