The problem is: I have many versions of the same package. so, i need to delete the old versions in some way.(don't tell me to do it manually!!) Any ideas?!! Maybe a script that checks the version of each package keeping the newer version and deletind older ones can solve this issue.   • Access Offline or Overloaded Webpages in Firefox

    What do you do when you really want to access a webpage only to find that it is either offline or overloaded from too much traffic? You can get access to the most recent cached version using the Resurrect Pages extension for Firefox. The Problem If you have ever encountered a website that has become overloaded and unavailable due to sudden popularity (i.e. Slashdot, Digg, etc.) then this is the result. No satisfaction to be had here… Resurrect Pages in Action Once you have installed the extension you can add the Toolbar Button if desired…it will give you the easiest access to Resurrect Pages. Or you can wait for a problem to occur when trying to access a particular website and have it appear as shown here. As you can see there is a very nice selection of cache services to choose from, therefore increasing your odds of accessing a copy of that webpage. If you would prefer to have the access attempt open in a new tab or window then you should definitely use the Toolbar Button. Clicking on the Toolbar Button will give you access to the popup window shown here…otherwise the access attempt will happen in the current tab. Here is the result for the website that we wanted to view using the Google Listing. Followed by the Google (text only) Listing. The results with the different services will depend on how recently the webpage was published/set up. View Older Versions of Currently Accessible Websites Just for fun we decided to try the extension out on the How-To Geek website to view an older version of the homepage. Using the Toolbar Button and clicking on The Internet Archive brought up the following page…we decided to try the Nov. 28, 2006 listing. As you can see things have really changed between 2006 and now…Resurrect Pages can be very useful for anyone who is interested in how websites across the web have grown and changed over the years. Conclusion If you encounter a webpage that is offline or overloaded by sudden popularity then the Resurrect Pages extension can help you get access to the information that you need using a cached version.     short answer: Quite probably, as SQL Azure is very similar to SQL Server longer answer: Object Relational Mappers (ORMs) that work with SQL Server are likely but not guaranteed to work with SQL Azure. The differences between the RDBMS versions are small – but may cause problems, for example in tools used to create the mapping between objects and tables or in generated SQL from the ORM which expects “certain things” :-) More specifically: ADO.NET Entity Framework / LINQ to Entities can be used with SQL Azure, but the Visual Studio designer does not currently work. You will need to point the designer at a version of your database running of SQL Server to create the mapping, then change the connection details to run against SQL Azure. LINQ to SQL has similar issues to ADO.NET Entity Framework above NHibernate can be used against SQL Azure DevExpress XPO supports SQL Azure from version 9.3 DataObjects.Net supports SQL Azure Open Access from Telerik works “seamlessly”  - their words not mine :-) The list above is by no means comprehensive – please leave a comment with details of other ORMs that work (or do not work) with SQL Azure.     Hi evryone I have question that really make me mad..I search every where and I couldn't find the answer.pleas read the details carefully: I have broadband (Wan mini-port PPPOE) account from a wierless network near from us...I'm receiving the signal with grid and Alfa AWUS036H wireless usb adapter.In all of windows version I can connect through my broadband when I do these steps 1.setup new connection or network 2.connect to the internet 3.setup new broadband connection then I but the ISP name(not Important just to remember my broadband connection) and then i put the username and password then connect. I can find and connect to my wireless networkbut when I make Dsl connection in ubuntu 12.04LTS and I put the username and password I couldn't connect.. I tried this tool"gnome dial up tool" and wouldn't work.. in other way..(how can I connect to broadband connection through ALFA USB adapter??) my wireless network have a servers when i check with winbox: mac adress ip adress server name version router board verson and I connect PPP through them... any answer will help me ..so we could solve this problem. thanks.

Wer also die neuesten Nachrichten dazu lesen möchte, wird hier fündig.   Mein Kollege Karim Berrah aus der Schweiz hat die Informationen des Blogs sehr schön in einer Tabelle zusammengefasst, um die Suche zu erleichtern. Diese Liste wird von ihm von Zeit zu Zeit aktualisiert, wächst langsam aber stetig und hat natürlich nicht den Anspruch der Vollständigkeit, erleichtert aber die Suche ungemein.

  • Should I index my mobile duplicate of my desktop website on google?

    I have a duplicate of http://he.thenamestork.com with the url http://he.thenamestork.com/mobile - all files are duplicated while the mobile version has a slightly different content. Notice that when I write 'mobile' I only mean regular HTML4 with smartphone friendly CSS. I have a series of redirects (using .htaccess) that allows smartphone users land directly on the mobile versions. But I wonder, shound I index the mobile version as well so those users will be able to get direct, faster links? And what is the proper way of doing that without causing problem in google search? I guess I'm asking if there's a way to get google display regular urls for desktop users and ../mobile/.. urls for smartphone users, and if it is smart SEOwise.

I have installed gettext and folder /usr/share/gettext does exist. But there is no archive.tar.gz. I have no idea what should this archive contain or where to get it. Can you help me please?

    I'm running cm9 ics on my Galaxy Note and i tried anything i could find googleing around but to no result, if i look on the phone in usb settings there is the option for mass storage but it's grey and therefore not selectable I don`t know what the problem is but i saw somwhere that it might be an old version of libmtp so i tried to install libmtp 1.1.3 with ./configure make make install but even after when i try mtp-detect it gives me libmtp 1.1.1 is it normal? anyway when i run mtp-detect here is what it gives me libmtp version: 1.1.1 Listing raw device(s) Device 0 (VID=04e8 and PID=6860) is a Samsung GT-P7310/P7510/N7000/I9100/Galaxy Tab 7.7/10.1/S2/Nexus/Note.   • GRUB- error: no such partition grub rescue and Error: No default or UI configuration directive found boot > on pendrive

    I have dell inspiron, previously I installed Ubuntu 11.10 on my Windows 7 and made it dual boot. But since I want to upgrade my Ubuntu version and change the partition spacing, I deleted 11.10 partition directly and extended my hardrive space (Windows + Ubuntu) at that moment everything was fine. Then I prepared a 12.04 32bit USB and installed it . It was installed but isn't showing dual boot option like 11.10 and my machine directly boot into Windows 7. So instantly i again deleted my 12.04 partition . Now I login into Windows 7 but whenever I put USB ( with 12.04 ) to boot from it, I am facing error of "no such partition grub rescue" even though I try to put lower version(11.04) it showing another error "Error: No default or UI configuration directive found boot " I have reinstall Windows 7 and reformat all partition, still I am facing same error :(

  • Can you recommend a good tutorial on building custom package versions?

    After installing Ubuntu 11.04 I was disappointed by the fact there are still Scala 2.7 (when 2.8 is long ago current actual branch) and Mono 2.6 (when pretty a time has passed after 2.8 release). I am not sure I could build all the packages for Mono myself, but I'd like to try making my own custom version of Scala package (and I want my system to accept it not as a different package but a version of the original, so that if I put it into a configured repository, the system will automatically upgrade to it from currently installed original 2.7). Can you recommend a good tutorial on this subject (Ubuntu deb packages building and hacking for beginners)?

  • Is it possible to preview arbitrary formats in Nautilus?

    I recently found out that Nautilus (Ubuntu 12.04 at least) can show thumbnails of files of non-image formats, for example (data grapher) grace files (.agr) shows a small version of the graph contained in its data. Obviously, there some library or script that is processing the file, making the image, and allowing nautilus to show a small version of it. This made me think that in principle any file that potentially can be processed into an image can serve as a Nautilus thumbnail. For example, a .tex file (which can be converted to .pdf) or a gnuplot script can be displayed as a thumbnail when possible. In the case of .tex file, the correspoding .pdf can be created by the command pdflatex file.tex. The question is, how can I tell Nautilus to create a thumbnail for an arbitrary format and how do I specify the commands to do so within Nautilus?

  • Downgrading from ubuntu 11.10 to 10.10, keeping installed programs

    I recently upgraded from 10.10 to 11.04 then 11.10, and I'd like to revert back to 10.10. I understand that you cannot downgrade a version as easily as you can upgrade, and that I'll probably have to get the boot CD again and reinstall the whole thing. I know that I can keep most of my files by saving the /home directory, so 2 questions: Once I've gone back to 10.10, can I juts copy my old version of home over the freshly installed one? Is there a way to keep all of my installed programs, or some sort of way of getting the new install to automatically install them? Will I have to go through the tricky setups of things like TeX all over again? Thanks

    During a recent project, while waiting for our Development Database to be provisioned on the clients corporate SQL Server Environment (these things can sometimes take weeks or months to be setup), we began our initial development against a local instance on SQL Server Express, just as an interim measure until the Development database was live.  This was going just fine, until we found that we needed to do some profiling to understand a problem we were having with the performance of our ORM generated Data Access Layer.  The full version of SQL Server Management Studio includes a profiler, that we could use to help with this kind of problem, however the Express version does not, so I was really pleased to find that there is a freely available Profiler for SQL Server Express imaginatively titled ‘SQL Server Express Profiler’, and it worked great for us.  http://sites.google.com/site/sqlprofiler/

  • cannot add movie file to pitivi

    when i try adding this movie file to pitivie i get the error as follows (i can play the file in mplayer just fine tho): Problem: An internal error occurred while analyzing this file: Could not find GStreamer caps mapping for FFmpeg codec 'h264', and you are using an external libavcodec. This is most likely due to a packaging problem and/or libavcodec having been upgraded to a version that is not compatible with this version of gstreamer-ffmpeg. Make sure your gstreamer-ffmpeg and libavcodec packages come from the same source/repository. Extra information: gstffmpegdec.c(1336): gst_ffmpegdec_negotiate (): /GstPipeline:Discoverer-file:///media/Data/pitivi/taw2.mkv/GstDecodeBin2:dbin/ffdec_h264:ffdec_h2645 Also, my system language is English, but regional format is set to German. mplayer installed in German, I want it in English tho...   • can't download music files purchased with ubuntu one from rhythmbox

    I used the link to Ubuntu One in Rhythmbox music player to purchase music. On the My Downloads page from Ubuntu One in the Rhythmbox it shows each of the files I purchased with and mp3 button and an AAC button. I should be able to download the files from these buttons but when I click on the button nothing happens - I was expecting a download manager to open up. I also was expecting the files to be transferred to my UbuntuOne account but don't see anything there either. (this is probably a second question) I am using 12.04 beta version of Ubuntu and the version of Rhythmbox that came with it: 2.96. Do I need to install something to be able to download these links? Thanks.
