  • What are some jQuery plugins that you've desired?

    - by meder
While I'm pretty sure this might just get closed, I might just have some free time on my hands so I'm opening a request thread to see if anyone desires a jQuery plugin that I might be able to provide - if you have a specific request for a plugin that you can't find which isn't overly demanding ( such as a game ) can you reply to this thread?

  • should I put the jar dependancies on the shared repo or just the source files ?

    - by ashy_32bit
We have a Scala project with few source files (in Scala and Java) and quite some dependencies in various binary formats (jar and DLL). I'm wondering what should go into our shared git repo. Only the source files (developers have to download or somehow resolve the dependencies themselves) or the both the source files and the dependencies? I may add that dependencies are all third parties and available for download for free.

  • Enumerating Environment keys with VBScript?

    - by Stabledog
I need to enumerate the keys in the WScript.Shell.Environment object. It's clear that if you already know the name of the key, you're home free with: Set oShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell") Debug.WriteLine "PATH=" & oShell.Environment("PATH") ...but if you want to list the keys, it looks like you're out of luck! Is there a secret passageway somewhere?

  • Is there a 128 or 256 bit double class in .net?

    - by AKRamkumar
I have an application that I want to be able to use large numbers and very precise numbers. For this, I needed a precision interpretation and IntX only works for integers. Is there a class in .net framework or even third party(preferably free) that would do this? Is there another way to do this?

  • Check if a pointer points to allocated memory on the heap.

    - by Ugo
Ok, I know this question seems to have been asked many times on stackoverflow. but please read Well the answer for any address is "No you can't" but the question here is to know if a pointer points to a piece of memory allocated with malloc/new. Actually I think it could be easily implemented overriding malloc/free and keeping track of allocated memory ranges. Do you know a memory management library providing this specific tool ?

  • What license to use for translations of open source software

    - by vividos
I'm writing an open source software that is licensed under the GPL. Now I'm offering that other users can translate the software, starting from an english translation I made by myself. What license or range of license may be best for translation of text strings, dialogs, etc.? As GPL is a software license, I thought about a Creative Commons license. The goal is so that all translations remain free and may be updated by other translators.

  • Entity framework: Need a easy going, clean database migration solution.

    - by user469652
I'm using entity framework model first development, and I need to do database migration often, The EF database generation power pack doesn't help a lot, because that data migration never worked here. The database migration here I mean, change the model, and then I can update the existing database from the model, but creating a new one. Is there any free of charge tool here invented here yet? Or would this going to be a new feature of next EF release? PS: I love django's ORM.

  • Rails log management

    - by ambertch
I'm starting to get overwhelmed using VI to search through my logs to chase down login errors and would like a better solution. I know Newrelic is highly recommended, though was wondering if there was something free I could try for the short term. Thanks!

  • What the best multi-thread application debugger for C++ apps.

    - by Coredumped
I'm looking for a good multi-thread-aware debugger, capable of showing performance charts of application threads on Linux, don't know if such a thing exists, perhaps as a Eclipse plugin. The idea would be to track per thread memory allocation a CPU usage as well as being able to interrupt a thread and examine its stack trace, local vars, etc. It does not have to be an eclipse plugin or a free tool, do any of you have heard of something similar?

  • Another getcwd question...

    - by rubenvb
    Sorry to keep hammering on this, but I'm trying to learn :). Is this any good? And yes, I care about memory leaks. I can't find a decent way of preallocating the char*, because there simply seems to be no cross-platform way. const string getcwd() { char* a_cwd = getcwd(NULL,0); string s_cwd(a_cwd); free(a_cwd); return s_cwd; }
