  • Provide a URI as a parameter for an ODBC or OleDB provider connection string?

    Is there any way of specifying a URI (rather than a physical path) as the "Data Source" parameter in an OleDB connection string, or the "Dbq" parameter in an ODBC connection string, such that the default ADO.Net providers will work with it? I've tried file://, and it's a no go, so I just wanted to confirm whether or not this is possible. I'm guessing not, but any confirmation or documentation links would be appreciated.

    I have been approached to create a website using Sabre Web Services to power the reservations system. All documentation I have seen refers to .NET or Java solutions, I was in doubt whether PHP can be used as access is performed using SOAP. I have found no further information about this, I assume the answer is yes, but wonder why there is not a single reference to this being possible - all solutions seem to be .NET Any suggestions?     When implementing an interface in eclipse, it has a really nice feature that lets you "add unimplemented methods", and it will generate the method stubs for the interface methods. However, it does not bring along the method documentation from the interface methods, and I was wondering if there was a way to get eclipse to do that.

  • Why should I Use ASP.NET Membership security model?

    I'm updating my website at the moment and figure that if I am to update my login/security mode, now is a good time. I have looked through the Membership model which is included in ASP.NET but I'm convinced that it will provide any benefit apart from being familiar to other .NET deevlopers. There seems to be quite a lot of documentation for it, but little discussion for why its worth the effort. Can anybody shed some light upon this?

I'm considering going for Trac instead. From what I understand, Trac would need to be on the same machine as SVN. I'm really having a hard time parsing through the Trac documentation.     Hi all, I followed this tutorial to make my first app: http://icodeblog.com/2009/12/21/introduction-to-mapkit-in-iphone-os-3-0/ I would really like to know how to sort the annotations in the Table in order of distance to the user (the nearest annotation is the first one on the table) How is it possible to do that?     I have the following: - (NSInteger) numberOfComponentsInPickerView:(UIPickerView *)pickerView { return 2; } - (NSInteger) pickerView:(UIPickerView *) pickerView numberOfRowsInComponent:(NSInteger) component { return [genderPickerData count]; return [agePickerData count]; } When I do this, the UIPicker is split into 2 components, but the PickerData is only being represented for gender on both pickers. I am trying to figure out through Apple's confusing documentation on how I reference each individual component but can't seem to figure it out.

Examining the source code seems to show that it is, and this bug report seems to indicate that its lack of documentation as thread safe is a javadoc issue.     Documentation says: The Grails team discourages the embedding of core application logic inside controllers, as it does not promote re-use and a clean separation of concerns. I have one API controller and a few Groovy classes in src/groovy folder. Those classes just implements my application logic so actions in API controller works in this way: //index page def index = { render new IndexApi().index(params) as JSON } I'm curious - is there any reason to move my application logic from plain groovy classes into services ?

  • Qwt setAxisScale() locks up application when given numbers less than 2e-07 and greater than 0

    I'm using Qwt for some scientific graphing, and I'm working with some fairly small numbers, the smallest being around 1.0e-22. I'm trying to call setAxisScale(xaxis, xmin, xmax) //xmin = 0, xmax = 2.0e-10 But when I do, the application locks up. I haven't found anything in the documentation that refers to a minimum value. Xmin and xmax are both doubles, so that shouldn't be a problem. Is this a bug in Qwt, or am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance

I don't want to show this code to the user the second time if he/she refreshes again. How do I go about doing that? Messages don't seem to have any sort of expiry setting.
