• Where can I found GD compatible fonts?

  Hello there! I'm using GD to display some text. The default font is Courier (or something similar)... I want to use another font and I found this function: imageloadfont that requires a .gdf file. I've search on Google to see if I find some nice fonts, but I didn't find anything. I see there's a script to convert a PNG file to a GDF, but I can't waste too much time so I'd like to know where can I get some nice fonts, or maybe there's another easier way to do what I want.   Hi, I currently have to develop a system very similar to MIT's Scratch's UI. In case you don't know it, here a screenshot: http://kidconfidence.com/blogs/wp-content/uploads/2007/10/scratch1.png Basically you have bricks in the library on the left you can drop into the window on the right side. The problem I have is that I'm new to Cocoa and not sure what would be the best way to accomplish that. Because you can nest these bricks sometimes and other times stick them together I wonder if there is something that would help implementing that. I recognize this is not a very common interface that there are probably no implementations of that around, but maybe there are helpers for parts of this. Regards, Armin

• How do I create an OpenCV image from a PIL image?

  I want to do some image processing with OpenCV (in Python), but I have to start with a PIL Image object, so I can't use the cvLoadImage() call, since that takes a filename. This recipe (adapted from http://opencv.willowgarage.com/wiki/PythonInterface) does not work because cvSetData complains argument 2 of type 'void *' . Any ideas? from opencv.cv import * from PIL import Image pi = Image.open('foo.png') # PIL image ci = cvCreateImage(pi.size, IPL_DEPTH_8U, 1) # OpenCV image data = pi.tostring() cvSetData(ci, data, len(data)) I think the last argument to the cvSetData is wrong too, but I am not sure what it should be.

• Installing Bugzilla on Ubuntu 9.04 and Plesk

  Hey guys. I'm trying to install the latest Bugzilla version on my ubuntu server. (Want to use a subdomain like bugs.domain.com) I already installed all necessary perl modules and check_modules.pl doesn't show any errors. But when I'm running the testserver.pl script I get the following: TEST-OK Webserver is running under group id in $webservergroup TEST-FAILED Fetch of images/padlock.png failed I'm also not able to visit ANY file within the bugzilla folder from the browser. I'm always getting a 404 error. The bugzilla folder and all containing files are set to apache as the owner. I tried to enter the apache configuration form the installation guide in the http.include file of the domain and in the vhosts.conf file of the subdomain as well. I don't know what to do... Playing with plesks' suexecgroup doesn't bring any solution... I hope you can help me! Thanks in advance!

  Hi, I'm looking for an idiomatic way to get dynamically scoped variables in Clojure (or a similar effect) for use in templates and such. Here is an example problem using a lookup table to translate tag attributes from some non-HTML format to HTML, where the table needs access to a set of variables supplied from elsewhere: (def *attr-table* ; Key: [attr-key tag-name] or [boolean-function] ; Value: [attr-key attr-value] (empty array to ignore) ; Context: Variables "tagname", "akey", "aval" '( ; translate :LINK attribute in <a> to :href [:LINK "a"] [:href aval] ; translate :LINK attribute in <img> to :src [:LINK "img"] [:src aval] ; throw exception if :LINK attribute in any other tag [:LINK] (throw (RuntimeException. (str "No match for " tagname))) ; ... more rules ; ignore string keys, used for internal bookkeeping [(string? akey)] [] )) ; ignore I want to be able to evaluate the rules (left hand side) as well as the result (right hand side), and need some way to put the variables in scope at the location where the table is evaluated. I also want to keep the lookup and evaluation logic independent of any particular table or set of variables. I suppose there are similar issues involved in templates (for example for dynamic HTML), where you don't want to rewrite the template processing logic every time someone puts a new variable in a template. (And without dynamic scoping.) Are there other alternatives to pass along sets of variable bindings declared elsewhere, without the globals required by Clojure's binding? Is there an idiomatic way of doing it, like Ruby's binding or Javascript's function.apply(context)?

• Release a retain UIImage property loaded via imageNamed?

  In my class object i've defined a (nonatomic, retain) property for UIImage. I assigned this property with an image loaded via [UIImage imageNamed:@"file.png"]; If at some point I want to reassign this property to another image, should I have to release the prior reference? I am confused because by the retain property I know i should release it. But because imageNamed is a convenience method (does not use alloc), im not sure what rule to apply here. • IIS7 + ASP.NET MVC Client Caching Headers Not Working

  Hey folks I've deployed an ASP.NET MVC app on IIS7 and Windows Server 2008. I've read posts on here, and around the web, but can't get the darn client-side caching to work. I'm trying to cache everything in the /Content folder. So far I've select that folder in IIS manager, and set the appropriate HTTP Response Headers (under Common Headers). I've also checked the web.config file in the /Content folder and the values there are being set. All resources in /Content come back with this (from FireBug): Cache-Control no-cache, no-store, must-revalidate Pragma no-cache Content-Type image/png Expires -1 Last-Modified Sun, 11 Oct 2009 19:01:40 GMT Accept-Ranges bytes Etag "f318d643a54aca1:0" Server Microsoft-IIS/7.0 X-Powered-By ASP.NET Date Sun, 11 Oct 2009 20:40:01 GMT Content-Length 620 Note the Cache-Control and Expires values for this static image being requested. The site is currently compiled in Debug (this will change), but surely that wouldn't make a difference? Obviously I'm overlooking something, any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

• Integrating a C project in the iPhone SDK

  Hello, This is my first time doing this sort of project so apologies if the question is silly. I've got a question about using a C project with a project in the iPhone SDK. I've dragged and dropped the C project into the iPhone project in Xcode (so it appears in the screenshot below). sjeng.h is a file inside GameEngine.xcodeproj, but when I try to include the header file, I not only receive an error, but the file it is looking for seems to be capitalized whereas the import statement is not. (I would post a screenshot but this is my first time doing something on stack overflow and I need more reputation points. • Image through Script, How to add variable to URL

  I'm sure it's pretty straightforward since someone just solved a similar problem I had. I have a folder full of city images and need users to see the image corresponding to their city. Right now I'm getting the users location without problem using "geoip_city()" but I don't quite know how to integrate it into the URL of the image. All images have the following format: New York.jpg, Boston.jpg so I just need to make the script put the location before .jpg This is what I'm trying now: <img src="blank.png" id="image" > <script type="text/javascript"> document.getElementById('image').src = "Imagenes/grupos/' + geoip_city() + '.jpg"; </script> I believe I'm just messing with the quotes or something similar. • Ruby open-uri open method loses file extension opening images

  I'm using ruby 1.9.2 along with Rails 3.1.4 and Paperclip 2.4.5. My issue is trying to save a paperclip attachment from a URI loses the file extension and saves the file without one resulting in issues with things like fancybox that require an extension. Some example code: uri = "http://featherfiles.aviary.com/2012-06-13/bbe5f0de1/0c5a672b88ea47ecb4631ac173e27430.png" open(uri) #=> #<File:/var/folders/zc/d69gxhzx10x_bvjrkqgyjgxr0000gn/T/open-uri20120613-27204-i6cldv> Because there is no extension on the temp file paperclip is saving the file without one resulting in issues. Has anyone run into this issue? I've seen multiple answers about using paperclip to store images from a URI but none seem to address the same problem we're running

  Can you bottom repeat a sprite background where I want the sprite to be set of the background on the bottom of the div. • Vibrations when exploding/repacking movie

  Please bear with me, I know that what I'm doing can sound strange, but I can guarantee there's a very good reason for that. I took a movie with my camera, as avi. I imported the movie into iMovie and then exploded the single frames as PNG. Then I repacked these frames into mov using the following code movie, error = QTMovie.alloc().initToWritableFile_error_(out_path, None) mt = QTMakeTime(v, scale) attrib = {QTAddImageCodecType: "jpeg"} for path in png_paths: image = NSImage.alloc().initWithContentsOfFile_(path) movie.addImage_forDuration_withAttributes_(image, mt, attrib) movie.updateMovieFile() The resulting mov works, but it looks like the frames are "nervous" and shaky when compared to the original avi, which appears smoother. The size of the two files is approximately the same, and both the export and repacking occurred at 30 fps. The pics also appear to be aligned, so it's not due to accidental shift of the frames. My question is: by knowing the file formats and the process I performed, what is the probable cause of such result ? How can I fix it ?

• google maps everytime fails to place some markers on the map

  hello! im trying to place like 130/140 markers on a custom google map. i inject the map with jquery and gmaps (http://gmap.nurtext.de/) everytime, at random (not related to specific markers) a lots of markers are not shown. firebug report this error: a is null and this error comes from this file: http://maps.gstatic.com/intl/it_ALL/mapfiles/285c/maps2.api/main.js if i refresh the page...some other markers are "hidden" and other ones are shown. anyone had this problem/can help me or suggest another safe way to show all markers? thanks a lot!
