In which languages other than C are virus programs created? Is it true that most of the antivirus software companies themselves program new viruses for sustaining their market value?
Hi,
I have a Windows Server that recives mail. These mail contains only 1 single CSV file. I want my server to automatically take the attachment from any incoming mail and send to a java program locally installed. Is there anyone who can give me directions on any programs that fix this or do I need to create some kind of windows service?
Thankful for any help!
Just a curious question but is there any programs that can help/aid you when you write PHP codes? Say there is an error in your code and using this program it would help you locate it, etc.
I might be thinking too much...
I've heard many things about performance in C; casting is slow compared to normal assignments, functional call is slow, binary operation are much faster than normal operations, et cetera...
I'm sure some of those things are specific to the architecture, and compiler optimization might make a huge difference, but I would like to see a chart to get a general idea what I should do and what I should avoid to write high-performance programs. Is there such a chart (or a website, a book, anything) ?
I want to write a command line utility that can be used to synchronize the execution off programs in different consoles.
Console A:
$ first_program && semaphore -signal
Console B:
$ semaphore -wait && second_program
The first program takes a long take to complete. The second program can only start when the first program has finished.
Which synchronization object do I need to implement this?
So I have a little (musical) keyboard that has USB midi interface. I know you can program to this (many programs accept input from the midi device via USB interface) but where do you begin to program a midi device?
Ideally I'm looking for a platform-independent api, through Python or something.
In the context of functional programming which is the correct term to use: persistent or immutable? When I Google "immutable data structures" I get a Wikipedia link to an article on "Persistent data structure" which even goes on to say:
such data structures are effectively
immutable
Which further confuses things for me. Do functional programs rely on persistent data structures or immutable data structures? Or are they always the same thing?
I wrote a little WPF app that when 'closed' minimizes to the system tray (customer requirement). Double clicking pops it back up, or right click gives a context menu to exit.
But if the app is minimized, and the users navigate to Start-All Programs-The Application it starts a new instance.
What (in C#) do I need to do to get the app to maximize the running instance if the user does this rather than fire up a new instance?
Thanks!
i dont know asp at all, and i heard somewhere, that asp more strong than php, and the really serious programs(in web) are written in asp! it makes my angry, becouse i like php, and write all my sites with it. i don't know asp, so can somebody axplain me the main defferences of them. i want have somethink to say next time, when somebody tell such thing

Basically, we want to run static programs compiled on one platform on another.
If it's not possible, what are the most significant changes in the kernel API between version 2.6.9 and 2.6.18?
i have following question

Consider a situation. We have some specific C++ compiler, a specific set of compiler settings and a specific C++ program.
We compile that specific programs with that compiler and those settings two times, doing a "clean compile" each time.
Should the machine code emitted be the same (I don't mean timestamps and other bells and whistles, I mean only real code that will be executed) or is it allowed to vary from one compilation to another?
Without accessing private API's to get Content URI's, etc. for SMS, how are we expected to query this data? I am currently in the process of writing my own SMS app and I want to stay as compatible as possible. Without storing the information myself in my own database (such that I can store the text messages so that other programs can access the data when/if they delete my app) and without using private API's how the heck are we suppose to query SMS data?
My mac laptop has 1,024,000 pixels.
What's the simplest way to turn my display completely black and go nuts with writing little programs to twiddle pixels to my heart's delight?
To make it more concrete, say I wanted to implement the Chaos Game to draw a Sierpinski triangle, at the pixel level, with nothing else on the screen.
What are ways to do that?
Hi.
I'd like to learn how to use RAII in c++. I think I know what it is, but have no idea how to implement it in my programs. A quick google search did not show any nice tutorials.
Does any one have any nice links to teach me RAII?
Hi,
I know at least two PHP source prettifiers and one for JavaScript, but all of them are written in those languages - PHP prettifiers in PHP, JavaScript in JS ;]
Now what I'm looking for is a prettifier for those languages which is a native application - can be C/C++ or Pascal, so that I can run it from commandline.
Possibly open source solution, as I might need to modify it a bit for my needs ...
( i need to run those prettifiers in batch mode )
any known programs / libraries for that?
Why isn't there a designer for native api forms in Visual Studio? Similar to Delphi?
If there exist some programs, tools etc, please advice.
What is the best approach to design complex windows in pure API?
A reference converter from UTF-8/16/32 in C used to be available at ftp://ftp.unicode.org/Public/PROGRAMS/CVTUTF/. This included the files ConvertUTF.h and ConvertUTF.c.
It was freely available and is incorporated into numerous open source projects. But now it's gone! What's the story? Can is still be legally used? Was there a problem with it?
I wrote a program to compile a simple text program to a compiled executable... Is it possible that I can load an executable to memory an some how point a pc counter to the memory space at will?
Here is what I made that I would like to store the programs to memory for execution on demand... Kind of wanting to make a little web language like php but compile it... Just for learning.

Assuming I have a list of DLL's an executable loads, How do I get a list of all the functions defined by those DLL's?
EDIT: preferably without the use of GUI's or huge programs like Visual Studio
Thanks,
hello,

I've heard a lot of good comments about Boost in the past and thought I would give it a try. So I downloaded all the required packages from the package manager in Ubuntu 9.04. Now I'm having trouble finding out how to actually use the darn libraries.
Does anyone know of a good tutorial on Boost that goes all the way from Hello World to Advanced Topics, and also covers how to compile programs using g++ on ubuntu?
I'm looking for a way to determine the differences between two strings, and highlight them in both strings.
I would suspect that most 'diff' programs won't work since they show differenes in lines (I believe).
Thanks,
Mark
I wrote a .sh file to compile and run a few programs for a homework assignment. I have a "for" loop in the script, but it won't work unless I use only integers:
#!/bin/bash
for (( i=10; i<=100000; i+=100))
do
./hw3_2_2 $i
done
The variable $i is an input for the program hw3_2_2, and I have non-integer values I'd like to use. How could I loop through running the code with a list of decimal numbers?
