  Hello, I asked a question quite a while ago about two members of an organization who wanted to receive all of each other's emails, and yet maintain seperate mailboxes. (so all emails to mike@company get sent to mike and dave and all emails to dave@company get sent to mike and dave). At the time, I actually only needed to implement one side of this (only mikes emails got sent to both receipients) and (with the help of ServerFault) I set up forwarding on dave's inbox so that all of his emails would also be sent to mike. I'm now in a situation where I have to implement the other side of this relation (such that mike's emails will also forward to dave). I still remember how to set up the forwarding rule, but I'm worried that I might be creating a circular forwarding rule such that mike@compnay forwards to dave@company which forwards to mike@company and so on. Can anyone clear up my confusion (just want to make sure I don't make a stupid mistake). Thanks a ton

  Hello everyone, I am using VSTS 2008 + C# + .Net 3.5 + IIS 7.0. I have created a new web site and put an html file into the directory. And when I use browse function in IIS manager to browse the html file, I met with the following error, any ideas what is wrong? BTW: I am very confused about unauthorized error since I run the worker process under administrator account. From the error message, I am confused why the logon method is anonymous and not using administrator account? • How to make xxx.one.com load content from yyy.two.com

  Hello, I'm currently in need to have xxx.one.com load the content of yyy.two.com. That means that when someone will enter xxx.one.com they'll actually see the content of yyy.two.com (URL in the browser won't change and will remain xxx.one.com). The domains are hosted on separate hosting company. yyy.two.com is on a cPanel and xxx.one.com is on an unknown hosting plan, though I can get its details. yyy.two.com have the same IP of www.two.com and this cannot be changed (as the hosting company told me). Any ideas on how do I tackle this issue? Thanks, Roy

• Setup Exchange 2007 ActiveSync web application on a separate server

  Hello, I have Exchange 2007 installed on SBS 2008. I also run a web server on the network. I only have one static IP and all traffic trough port 443 is routed to the webserver. I would like to publish the ActiveSync application externally. If i temporarily route 443 traffic to the SBS then it is published (along with owa and everything else which i don't want). Is there a way to host the ActiveSync application on the web server (Server 2008 with IIS7) or to get it to route traffic meant for the ActiveSync application? I have tried creating a site on the webserver which uses the ActiveSync folder on the SBS but that does not seem to work. Thanks, Michael

• My laptop causes the wireless router to stop working

  hello all, it's happening something strange to my wireless connection. The wireless connection works fine with all the devices at home, except with my laptop (Toshiba satellite, WIN 7 64): as I start it, the wireless network shuts off and the connection disappears also for the other devices. I can use internet only plugging the laptop with an ethernet cable, and I have to shut off the wireless card, to allow the other people in the house to use the wireless connection. I tried to update the firmware (it is a D-Link DIR 615) but it's up to date, and reconfigure the router, but all indicates that the problem is caused by my laptop. I'm currently doing an antivirus scanning, but the computer seems to be clean. Any suggestion?

  Hello. I'm trying to set up video surveillance system using ip cameras and zonealarm on Arch Linux. I set up fixed ip address, I've managed to get streams from cameras, etc. However, after restart of the machine, I can not start apache again. I checked configuration of rc.conf, and saw that static ip configuration has been deleted, and also secondary nameserver in resolv.conf. Tried to re-write these with correct parameters, but now with no effect. This is tail of my /var/log/httpd/error_log file, after /etc/rc.d/httpd restart attempt [Fri Jan 29 04:20:45 2010] [alert] (EAI 5)No address associated with hostname: mod_unique_id: unable to find IPv4 address of "zmhost" Configuration failed Anybody has an idea how could I fix this??

  Hello I thought I had solved this nightmare by re-entering the values in my SSP properties set up, however accessing the Search Settings page error has reared it ugly head again.   Hello, I just bought an HTC Touch Pro2. I previously have used a MotoQ. On the Q, I managed to write XML code to change my color scheme (not just the bars, but the background color and font colors.) I cannot seem to find how to do this on the HTC. I will explain: I am legally blind and can only see my phone if the colors are reversed i.e. I need the background of all menus and such to be black and the font to be white. Can anyone help me? I am a desperate woman!!!!

• "TMGR is Missing" after repair-installing Windows XP

  Hello there, I have two OSes installed in my computer. - Windows XP Professional - Windows 7 Ultimate (Release Candidate 1/Build 7100) I used the Windows 7 boot loader by default to choose between OSes. When I was using my WinXP, my computer gets lagged suddenly and continuously, and the only way to fix it is by repair-installing it (because I've experienced this many times before, but without W7 installed). Everything goes OK. But when my XP was successfully reinstalled, I cannot boot my Windows 7 anymore. Every time I tried to boot the harddisk that contains W7, an error appeared. "TMGR is Missing". Now I have no idea how can I get back to my Windows 7. Any kind of help would be appreciated! :)

• Permission denied when using mv in Windows 7 Cygwin

  I have Cygwin installed on Windows 7 in a windows domain sign-on environment. I can run most typical commands without issue, but I cannot for the life of me use the "mv" command to move or rename files, regardless of the file or directory. I can copy and create files without issue. +-[12:27:57]-[mbutl2@MYHOSTNAME] +--> tmp $ >> pwd /tmp +-[12:27:58]-[mbutl2@MYHOSTNAME] +--> tmp $ >> touch test.txt +-[12:28:02]-[mbutl2@MYHOSTNAME] +--> tmp $ >> mv test.txt hello -bash: /usr/bin/mv: Permission denied I have already tried running Cygwin terminal as Administrator and the problem is the same. I'm open to workarounds, such as trying another exe for moving files and redirecting the mv command to it. Moving files works in the Windows Command Prompt.

• Canon LiDE 600F FAU on Snow Leopard?

  Hello, I have been able to use my Canon LiDE 600F scanner under Snow Leopard to scan paper sheet, after installing Canon's latest driver software. However, I cannot find a way to make the FAU (Film Adaptor Unit) to work: Canon's software want to calibrate it first and gives an error message "Calibration cannot be performed. Pull out the film. 182.0.0". (of course there is no film). Hamrick's VueScan doesn't seem to support the FAU Apple's Image Capture doesn't propose a film option either Did I miss something? Did somebody manage to scan film (positive or negative) using the LiDE 600F under Snow Leopard? Many thanks

• Device Manager in read-only remote mode when local

  Hello - since configuring a Windows Web Server 2008 R2 x64 to be hardened for an internet-facing deployment I receive this: "Device Manager is running in read-only mode because you are running it on a remote computer." when entering Device Manager. I have tried reversing the changes I have made, such as: Re-adding Client for Microsoft Networks Re-enabling NetBIOS over TCP-IP Re-adding File and Printer Sharing Disabling the Windows Firewall in all profiles (public, domain, private) I get no joy. It looks like a Microsoft ballsup. I'll try and use Process Monitor to have a look. Google returns only 1 page for this error. Luke

• Jobs stuck in Print Queue on print server

  Hello, I have a Server 2003 machine acting as a print server for about 20 printers. There is 1 printer which we are having issues with and it has 104 documents in its queue. I have attempted the "Cancel All Documents" and tried to manually cancel individual documents without success. The print jobs state "Deleting - Sent to printer" under their status. It has been in this state for about 2 hours. I do not believe restarting the spool is an option without effecting the other printers and we have Hold printer for a specific non windows printing friendly application, in which I can not loose the jobs for. • dns service on OS X Snow Leopard Server

  Hello all, I have a Mac Mini (1.83GHz, 1.5 RAM) with a fresh install of OS X Snow Leopard Server and I want to use it for DNS and web hosting. What I have done so far is to go to the domain registrar and configure a new nameserver (ns.domain.tld) to point to my static IP. This Mac Mini is behind a DI-524 router and I have forwarded ports 53 and 80 to the Mini. I have also added the domain name to the DNS configuration pannel (as in the attachment), but intodns.com gives the following error (among others, and obviously the site is not working): "Mismatched NS records WARNING: One or more of your nameservers did not return any of your NS records." • Easiest linux distro creation

  Hello everyone! I have been trying to create my own customized distro of linux (preferably some kind of Debian system like Debian, Ubuntu, Knoppix, etc). I want to make it specifically for playing games. This is just a pet project for me and while I know linux pretty well (bash, gcc, g++, gdb, etc), I'm not that great with knowing the kernel. So that puts making my own distro from scratch out of the question. I went on to trying to create remasters of Knoppix and it worked for me but it was a very long process since knoppix is meant to be a live CD and I was running it in VirtualBox. So what is the easiest and fastest method of making your own distro? Also, can I install ubuntu or some kind of linux to a computer make changes to it, and then make a distro off of that installation? Please help me with this, Thanks

  Hello, I have 4 Name Virtual Hosts on my apache configuration, each one using proxy_http to forward request to the correct server. They work fine. <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName application_name.domain.tld ProxyRequests Off ProxyPreserveHost On ProxyPass / http://server_ip/ ProxyPassReverse / http://server_ip/ </VirtualHost> I then tried to add a default NameVirtualHost to take care of the requests for which the server name does not match one of the four others. Otherwise a request like some_weird_styff.domain.tld would be forwarded to one of the 4 VH. I then added this one: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAlias "*" DocumentRoot /var/www/ </VirtualHost> At the beginning it seemed to work fine, but at some point it appears that the requests that should be handed by one of the 4 regular hosts is "eaten" by the default one !!! If I a2dissite this default host, everything is back to normal... I do not really understand this. If you have any clue... thanks a lot, Luc

Should i add the domain, and use the mydomain.com nameserver settings. Shoudl i add the domain and create his own nameserver.   Hello, I've recently become responsible for choosing which source control and project management software to use for a company that employs me. Currently it uses Jira (project management) and Subversion (version control). I know there are many other options out there -- the ones I know about are all in this article http://mashable.com/2010/07/14/distributed-developer-teams/ . I'm leaning towards recommending they just stay with what they have as it seems workable and any change would have to be worth the cost of switching to say github/basecamp or some other solution. Some details on the team: It's a distributed development shop. Meetings of the whole team in one room are rare. It's currently a very small development team (three developers). The project management software is used by developers and a product manager or two. What are you experiences with version control and project management web applications? Are there any you would recommend and you think are worth the switching cost of time to learn new services / implementing the change? Edit: After educating myself further on the options it appears DVCS offer powerful benefits that may be worth investing in now as opposed to later in the company's lifetime when the switching cost is higher: I'm a Subversion geek, why I should consider or not consider Mercurial or Git or any other DVCS?

  Hello, do you know of any software that would help me transform a broken line into a curved line? For example, I have an octagon or a heptagon and I want it to be transformed into something resembling a circle. if you know such software, please, let me know. Thank You! • Restore using time machine from an macbook to an macbook pro (first intel)

  Hello.. My girlfriend have Macbook 10.6.3, the first plastic version. the screen broke an its at service store now. In the mean time, i have tried to restore from hers TM backup to my old macbook pro 10.6.3 (the first intel version). Everything seems to work out fine, but when its finish, it says reboot, but nothing happens. When i hold down the power button, powering down, and starts again, its come up with the grey roll down screen "you need to restart your machine again" in different languages. I have tried the restore procedure over again 2 times, and every time it ends up like this... Anyone have a suggestion what to do ? Thanks - Anders.
