    I'm working with a client on a rails project that wants to have a user model with 'stub' accounts that are created by an administrator, but that can later be claimed by the actual user, with authentication enabled on that user once the owner has claimed it. Was wondering if anyone has done this before, and what the best approach would be. We're currently using Authlogic to handle authentication.

By designing I mean the technical design (when and how to use data binding, when should MVC/MVP be used, what functionality should go into the model, the view, the controller/presenter, how can different parts of the UI best be kept in sync ...), not the screen design of which button goes where or how the interaction with the user should take place.     I can't narrow down this bug, however I seem to have the following problem: - saveState() of a horizontalHeader() - restart app - Modify model so that it has one less column - restoreState() - Now, for some reason, the state of the headerview is totally messed up. I cannot show or hide any new columns, nor can I ever get a reasonable state back I know, this is not very descriptive but I'm hoping others have had this problem before.

    I have a custom piece of Javascript which I would like to run on every web page from specific domains, or perhaps simply on every web page. (If you are wondering: it is not malicious. It allows to display formulas by using MathJax.) Is that possible? I tried including it in userContent.css, that of course did not work. A simple Greasemonkey script I tried did not insert it. Is it because of the security precautions? (Which would be very logical). Still, there should be a way to do it on the machine I physically control, by changing something in Mozilla chrome directory, shouldn't it? Anyway, how can I do this for myself?

The problem lies in that a constructor cannot exist twice with the same type of parameters. Sure I can tell the logical difference between the two paramters, but the computer can't. Any suggestions on how to handle this? Thank you!

It feels like MS is trying to phase out support for VBA in PPT since they dropped macro recording in version 2007 and the object model lacks some key features support.

    I wanted to add a tab to the user edit page ie user/%/edit/foo, and was using the twitter module as a model. After much spelunking and stepping through with a debugger, I realised that I needed to add a hook_user function in my module so that the %user_category part of the menu router path would work. It's now functioning as expected, but I don't really have a solid idea of what I just did, and haven't found a good explanation anywhere. Can anyone explain to me what it's about?

    Does anyone have any java examples for parsing a series of command line arguements in a robust way? I'm looking to be able to handle something like: java myapp [-l language] [-d int] [-f file1 file2 file3] I want to do this in a robust way so I can provide logical error messages to the user if they mistake a command line-option. Some of these options I'd like to make optional, etc, etc. Also, the -f file list should be able to handle a list of files. Is there some library out there to assist me in handling this?

Something like: ModelWithTag.find_by_tags "foo" or find_all_tagged_with "foo" Is this possible with is_taggable ?
