• unable to connect emulator with internet

  hi I am using Android 2.2 . I am unable to connect my emulator to internet . When I open my web browser in the emulator it shows the message "Web Page not available" . I have set proxy settings in the emulator (settings - Wireless & Networks -Mobile Networks - Access Point Names). Also , I set proxy settings in eclipse (Windows- Preferences- Android- Launch- Default Emulator Options). I have read many blogs and forums but I haven't found any solution yet .I am really frustrated . Please help me out. Abhijeet

• Upload Image with Django Model Form

  I'm starting a web application that will target Mobile Safari on iPhone/iPod Touch. I'm evaluating the available client-side JavaScript/CSS libraries/frameworks that are currently out there. These are the ones I'm currenlty aware of: iUI CiUI UiUIKit WebApp.Net iWebKit Apple's Dashcode Application - not really a standalone library/framework, but it provides/generates JavaScript, CSS, and images that conform to the native iPhone UI metaphors. Are there any others out there? I want to make sure I'm not missing any before I make a decision. I'm only looking for client-side JavaScript/CSS solutions and building one from scratch isn't an option because of time constraints. No server-side PHP, Ruby, Python, Java, etc. solutions. I am aware of the iPhone web applications, templates, frameworks? question that was asked, but this only mentioned iUI and UiUIKit. Thank you

• Symfony2 Include in html in Twig

  I am developing an application usin Symfony2 and twig for templates. I am using a 3 level structure for templates. Base.html.twig, layout.html.twig and childtemplate.html.twig. The problem is I am trying to include one example.html (common html file) in the next child template by using include but it doesnt work properly. • Unique SMS sender id?

  Hello, I want to build an app that send SMS to people. However, I want my users to know that the SMS comes from the app and nothing else so they can't fake it. Is there a way to guarantee that the sender ID is unique to my app? It seems that sending a SMS by phone is with a unique SENDER ID for each phone number. But, from what I read, I don't think it is the case when sending a SMS through a web gateway. Is this correct? I am not an expert in mobile phone security. Of course, I am willing to pay the price for a unique sender id, if such thing is possible. Regards, Pascal

• Building v8 without JIT

  Hello, I would like to run some tests on v8 with and without JIT to compare performances. I know JIT will improve my average speed performance, but it would be nice for me to have some actual more detailed tests results as I want to work with mobile platforms. I haven't found how to enable or disable JIT like it exists on Squirrelfish (cf. ENABLE_JIT in JavaScriptCore/wtf/Platform.h). Does somebody knows how to do that with v8? Thanks. Alexandre

• How to prevent HTTP 304 in Django test server

  I have a couple of projects in Django and alternate between one and another every now and then. All of them have a /media/ path, which is served by django.views.static.serve, and they all have a /media/css/base.css file. The problem is, whenever I run one project, the requests to base.css return an HTTP 304 (not modified), probably because the timestamp hasn't changed. But when I run the other project, the same 304 is returned, making the browser use the file cached by the previous project (and therefore, using the wrong stylesheet). Just for the record, here are the middleware classes: MIDDLEWARE_CLASSES = ( 'django.middleware.common.CommonMiddleware', 'django.contrib.sessions.middleware.SessionMiddleware', 'django.contrib.auth.middleware.AuthenticationMiddleware', 'django.middleware.transaction.TransactionMiddleware', ) I always use the default address http://localhost:8000. Is there another solution (other than using different ports - 8001, 8002, etc.)?

  I've seen a few posts that briefly touch on the subject but don't address the question directly. So please don't label this as a dup. Having been independant/freelance for 5 years or so, and having also had plenty of exposure to perm positions, I've been exposed to many views on what an "Architect" really is. As a result, I've coined the term, "One man's architect is another man's n00b", as it seems to be perpetually relative. I've interviewed at mom-&-pop shops that didn't think I was worth a hill of beans. I've also interviewed at world-class consulting firms who thought I was incredible. Again, it all seems relative. But what specifically makes a software architect a true "Architect"?

  I am getting an error that I cannot figure out: ActionView::MissingTemplate (Missing template cluster/delete_stuff.erb in view path app/views) <...snip trace...> Rendering rescues/layout (internal_server_error) I am "enhancing" others code and am following the convention they set up, where they have have code like: <%= render :partial => "other_stuff" %> And a file named _other_stuff.html.erb and it all works, but when I copy these little snippets, I get the above error. Any ideas? Something is going on here that I need to figure out.

  I need to dynamically generate a code like this in the resulting html: <p>>> gallery one</p> <p><a href="../gallery2">gallery two</a></p> <p><a href="../about">about the author</a></p> <p><a href="../news">our news</a></p> I do have menu_code string variable created in views.py (it is generated depending on an item number of the current page passed — 1 in the case above), which contains that long string with the code shown above. It is (well, supposed to) passed by locals() into the html template (all other variables are passed that way successfully): return render_to_response('gallery_page.html', locals()) I have this: {% include menu_code %} inside the template html. But instead of being interpreted as code it is just shown as text in the browser. What am I doing wrong? How to make it work as a dynamically generated menu?

Googling this yields two relevant discussions about this issue: Easier manipulation of sessions by test client test.Client.session.save() raises error for anonymous users I'm confused because both tickets have different ways of dealing with this problem and they were both Accepted. I assume this means they were patched and the behavior is now different. I also don't know to which versions these patches would pertain. If I'm writing a unit test in Django 1.0, how would I set up my session store for sessions to work as they do in the browser?

• How to create a web framework in C# without ASPX?

  I've managed to get a C# asp page running under ubuntu/apache/mono, but I don't want to write my framework in these ASP pages, I want to use straight C# and then I'll use a templating language for my views. But I don't know where to begin? C# is a compiled language, so... how would I do this? Would I compile everything and then have apache hook into the (single) executable and pass in the the request URL? Could I request specific .cs pages and then have apache tell it to compile and then "display" it only if it's been updated? Can the "view" files be compiled individually to avoid having to recompile everything every time there's a change? Is there some "base" I can work from, or am I going to have to reinvent accessing GET and POST variables (by reading header info) and all sorts of other stuff we take for granted in languages like PHP?

I put the following code in the page body using the php code input format. <?php $uid = $_GET['uid']; $user = user_load($uid); print $user->name; ?> Now the following link http://www.example.com/mypath/?uid=5 results in user 5's name being displayed. Great. My question is: Can this be accomplished using clean urls such that going to http://www.example.com/mypath/5 has the same result? (Similar to using arguments in views)

• iPhone autorotation for too many objects on screen

  Hi! I have a BlahAppDelegate, BlahViewController and no nibs in my iPhone app project. Only some subclasses of UIView in addition. All this is situated in main.m. My app has 6 subclassed UIViews. Each of it contains 18 UIImageViews. I need to get autorotating work. Or custom rotating. Or something. For example it would be nice to fade the screen out when device is rotated, then move/resize views and then fade screen out. But I don't know how to automate it, without writing a resizing code for each of objects. Please help me if you can.

• Disabling Submit Button in ASP.NET 3.5 Application with JavaScript breaks BlackBerry submission

  The following code is being used to disable a Submit button once it has been clicked. This works great on desktop browsers and most BlackBerry mobile browsers. Submit.Attributes.Add("onclick", "javascript:this.disabled=true;" + ClientScript.GetPostBackEventReference(Submit, null)); Unfortunately, when using a BlackBerry Storm clicking the submit button causes the device to just reload the page. If I remove this code the Storm browser submits the page just fine. I need to disable the button when the browser is capable of doing so but do not want to affect browsers that are not JavaScript capable. I realize I could add the jQuery framework and only attach the event client side, but am trying to look for the simplest fix (read least intrusive) as this is a legacy application. Any suggestions?

• Spring redirect: prefix issue

  Hello, I have an application which uses Spring 3. I have a view resolver which builds my views based on a String. So in my controllers I have methods like this one. @RequestMapping(...) public String method(){ //Some proccessing return "tiles:tileName" } I need to return a RedirectView to solve the duplicate submission due to updating the page in the browser, so I have thought to use Spring redirect: prefix. The problem is that it only redirects when I user a URL alter the prefix (not with a name a resolver can understand). I wanted to do something like this: @RequestMapping(...) public String method(){ //Some proccessing return "redirect:tiles:tileName" } Is there any way to use RedirectView with the String (the resolvable view name) I get from the every controller method? • The best way to organize WPF projects

  Hello everybody, I've started recently to develop a new software in WPF, and I still don't know which is the best way to organize the application, to be more productive with Visual Studio and Expression Blend. I noticed 2 annoying things I'd like to solve: I'm using Code Contracts in my projects, and when I run my project with Expression Blend, it launches the static analysis of the code. How can I stop that? Which configuration of the project does Blend use by default? I've tried to disable Code Contracts in a new configuration. It works in VS as the static analysis is not launched, but it has no effects in Blend. I've thinked about splitting the Windows Application in 2 parts: the first one containing the views of the WPF (app.exe) and the second one being the core of the project, with the logic code (app.core.dll), and I would just open the former project in Blend.   Hello Experts, I have a 2D image and I want to create a anaglyph image for this single 2D image. To do this I need to create Left and Right views. I will considar my 2D image as Left view and I want to create Right View now. I came to know that the perspective rotation (about Y axis) and perspective skews will give the right image. I know that the perspective projection is related to 3D. Basically I am new to 3D programming. Can you plz explain how to do perspective rotation abuout Y-axis. I´ve searched on the internet for this issue and i think it is not possible to have a direct connection between the mysql database and the android application. (Is this right?)
