• TS (RD) Gateway Authentication Problem "The logon attempt failed"

  I've been using TS Gateway to permit remote access for our staff for a few months now, and all has been well. Users either connect to a traditional terminal server desktop or hit our website and start an TS RemoteApp application- in both cases the connection is routed through a TS Gateway. However I came into work this morning to find that has stopped authenticating users through TS Gateway, each time returning "The logon attempt failed" as seen in the image even though the credentials are correct. It should be noted that everything works fine if the Gateway is taken out of the equation, it's the TS Gateway component that is causing these problems. Users experience this problem whether they connect through XP SP3, Vista or 7. On the server a total of 4 entries appear in the Windows security log at exactly the same time for each failed logon attempt: two 4624 "An account was successfully logged on" messages for the user, immediately followed by two 4634 "An account was logged off"s. This suggests that the server is accepting the credentials as correct, then booting the user off. Nothing at all is recorded in the NPS and Terminal Server logs. A reboot doesn't change things. Neither does completely removing and reinstalling the NPS and Terminal Server roles. I'm baffled as to how this can happen suddenly without warning. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  I have a WindowsXP configured as a build machine. The build process runs under an account which isn't an administrator. Some projects register as a last step an ocx control with something like regsvr32 /s /c ".\debug\myocx.ocx" This step fails and I assume that this has something to do with rights because doing the same under an admin account works fine. What rights/permissions/policies do I need to give the build account and where do I do it? (Browsing Local Users and Groups and Local Security Settings haven't helped me)

• Why is "wsdl" namespace interjected into action name when using savon for ruby soap communication?

  I'm trying to access a SOAP service i don't control. One of the actions is called ProcessMessage. I follow example and generate a SOAP request, but I get an error back saying that the action doesn't exist. I traced the problem to the way the body of the envelope is generated. <env:Envelope ... "> <env:Header> <wsse:Security ... "> <wsse:UsernameToken ..."> <wsse:Username>USER</wsse:Username> <wsse:Nonce>658e702d5feff1777a6c741847239eb5d6d86e48</wsse:Nonce> <wsu:Created>2010-02-18T02:05:25Z</wsu:Created> <wsse:Password ... >password</wsse:Password> </wsse:UsernameToken> </wsse:Security> </env:Header> <env:Body> <wsdl:ProcessMessage> <payload> ...... </payload> </wsdl:ProcessMessage> </env:Body> </env:Envelope> That ProcessMessage tag should be : <ProcessMessage xmlns="http://www.starstandards.org/webservices/2005/10/transport"> That's what it is when it is generated by the sample java app, and it works. That tag is the only difference between what my ruby app generates and the sample java app. Is there any way to get rid of the "wsdl:" namesaplce in front of that one tag and add an attribute like that. Barring that, is there a way to make force the action to be not to be generated by just passed as a string like the rest of the body?   I am running an ecommerce theme on wordpress on a hostgator server, and coming up with this error. Security warning: set the value *register_globals* in the php ini to Off !! This theme will not work correctly otherwise. I can't find the php.ini in any of the folders. I tried creating a file with the added command and putting it in root as suggested via google, with no luck. Any recommendations?otherwise.

  Hello, I created a simple web application and added log4J's jar in my lib folder and it seems to work fine. • Browser connects to WCF service but not my WCF client. What can be the reason?

  On a production server (Windows Server 2003 SP2) I can connect to a remote WCF service with Internet Explorer 8: When I browse to the URL http://www.domain.com/Service.svc (where my service listens) I get the expected info page of the service displayed. Connection settings in Internet Explorer only specify "auto detect", proxy settings are disabled. If I start a console application (built with WCF in .NET 4.0) on the same server which also tries to connect to the same WCF service it fails telling me that no endpoint was available listening on http://www.domain.com/Service.svc. Looking around for other options I found that I can specify to use the Internet Explorer proxy settings with: <system.net> <defaultProxy> <proxy usesystemdefault="true" /> </defaultProxy> </system.net> It didn't work and I am not sure if I understood this setting really correctly. (My hope was that the WCF client will adopt the "autodetect" setting of Internet Explorer and then connect the same way to the service like the installed IE.) I also had toggled the useDefaultWebProxy setting in the binding configuration between true and false with no success. Now I am asking for help what I can do? Which settings might be wrong or missing? What could I test and how can I get more detailed error messages to better identify the problem? Thank you in advance!

  Hello, We want to set up a directory of all the organizations working with us. They are incredibly diverse (government, embassy, private companies, and organizations depending on them ). So, I've resolved to create 2 tables. Table 1 will treat all the organizations equally, i.e. it'll collect all the basic information (name, address, phone number, etc.). Table 2 will establish the hierarchy among all the organizations. For instance, Program for illiterate adults depends on the National Institute for Social Security which depends on the Labor Ministry. In the Hierarchy table, each column represents a level. So, for the example above, (i)Labor Ministry - Level1(column1), (ii)National Institute for Social Security - Level2(column2), (iii)Program for illiterate adults - Level3(column3). To attach an organization to an hierarchy, the user needs to go level by level(i.e. column by column). So, there will be at least 3 situations: If an adequate hierarchy exists for an organization(for instance, level1: US Embassy), that organization can be added (For instance, level2: USAID).-- US Embassy/USAID, and so on. How about if one or more levels are missing? - then they need to be added How about if the hierarchy need to be modified? -- not every thing need to be modified. I do not have any choice but working by level (i.e. column by column). I does not make sense to have all the levels in one form as the user need to navigate hierarchies to find the right one to attach an organization. Let's say, I have those queries in my repository (just that you get the idea). Query1 var orgHierarchy = (from orgH in db.Hierarchy select orgH.Level1).FirstOrDefault; Query2 var orgHierarchy = (from orgH in db.Hierarchy select orgH.Level2).FirstOrDefault; Query3, Query4, etc. The above queries are the same except for the property queried (level1, level2, level3, etc.) Question: Is there a general way of writing the above queries in one? So that the user can track an hierarchy level by level to attach an organization. In other words, not knowing in advance which column to query, I still need to be able to do so depending on some conditions. For instance, an organization X depends on Y.   I have a Windows Server 2012R2 machine that I installed with Server Core, and then decided that I wanted to switch to GUI. I'll make the long story short: I ran windows updates, and now the source files are older/out of sync with the operating system, and I need to update the source files. I get errors like: "An error occurred - Package_for_KB29671203 Error: 0x80073701, Error: 14081, The referenced assembly could not be found." or "add-windowspackage failed. error code = 0x80073701, add-windowspackage: the referenced assembly could not be found" I've extensively searched for help on those error codes related to Server 2012 and windows updates, but my google-fu is failing me. I am using windows update packages found in c:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download How can I get these updates to bring my source files up to current? Thanks!

Could not find endpoint element with name 'WCFname' and contract 'WCFcontract' in the ServiceModel client configuration section. I have a VS package project that needs to connect to a WCF service that provides some functionality. This might be because no configuration file was found for your application, or because no endpoint element matching this name could be found in the client element. My guess is that it's taking the configuration file for Visual Studio (since it is running VS experimental mode). So yeah...why isn't it recognizing the app.config file and how could I make the application to recognize it? Any help would be very welcomed as I have already tried to fix this for some time.   I've setup the instance SQLEXPRESS via SQL Server 2008 R2 installation, added a security login with all server roles, one called 'sqluser'. The server authentication is SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode. However, when i specify the -S property, login fails. There is no firewall enabled and SQL server even accepts connections from remote hosts. C:\Users\user>sqlcmd -U sqluser -P qwerty -Q "Select * FROM testdb.dbo.testtable" Output: integer ------- 1 2 3 4 (4 rows affected) However when specifying 'localhost' the query fails... Question is Why? C:\Users\user>sqlcmd -S localhost/sqlexpress -U cpt -P 1234 -Q "Select * FROM cpt.dbo.testme" Output: HResult 0x43, Level 16, State 1 Named Pipes Provider: Could not open a connection to SQL Server [67]. Sqlcmd: Error: Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0 : A network-related or in stance-specific error ..... Sqlcmd: Error: Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0 : Login timeout expired. Changing 'localhost' with '%COMPUTERNAME' is same result if someone would be wondering. The server is running as a LocalSystem instance.
