  • Multiple webservices in 1 ear/ejb project

    We have a ejb project (which is in an ear) that shares quite a bit of code between 2 webservices. The classes that the webservices expose are in different packages but they have different names. For example Web service1 com.d.trunk.Response WS1.process( com.d.trunk.Input ); Web service2 com.d.fwd.Response WS2.process( com.d.fwd.Input ); So this builds fine, but when we deploy and we view the generated wsdl and the generated xsd things begin to go a bit haywire. So if we look at web service 2 it generates the wsdl and xsd as we expect. But when we look at ws 1's wsdl for some reason it includes the xsd from the ws 2 and its own xsd. And its own xsd are missing key types like the Response type. Is this an issue because we have 2 web services in 1 ejb project? Or some config issue with Netbeans 6.7.1 and glassfish v2?

  • File permission issues after setting up an amazon ec2 instance

    I've set up an amazon ec2 instance and I'm have some file permission issues. I've created myself a new user and added myself to the following groups: adm:x:4:me,ubuntu www-data:x:33:me,www-data ssh:x:108:me admin:x:111:me ubuntu:x:1000:www-data,me me:x:1001:me but when I cd /var/www I can't do simple commands without doing sudo first. So I chmod -R www-data:www-data /var/www to ensure that I'm in the owning group but I still have to type sudo for everything. If I sudo su www-data it works fine. Since I'm in the www-data group shouldn't I have the same privilages as www-data? One strange thing I'm noticing is that when I ls -l it list the owner but not the group names. Could this possibly be part of the issue?   • Does Amazon S3's HTTP Uploads feature support web-hook style callbacks?

    When uploading files to Amazon S3 using the browser http upload feature, I know I can specify a success_action_redirect field/value that will tell my browser where to go when the upload is done. I'm wondering: is it possible to ask Amazon to make a web hook style POST request to my web server whenever a file gets uploaded? Basically, I want a way of being notified whenever a client uploads a new file, so that my server can process the upload. I'd like to do this without relying on the client to make the request to my server to tell me the file has been uploaded (never trust the client, right?).

    Hello, I'm sick of using vim to develop on some far Amazon-ec2 machine. I'm wondering if there is any way to Use NetBeans on my laptop to develop on and run the code on that machine. Basically I want a way to let NetBeans operate on an external disk space that I connect to using SSH, In my case I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.3 locally and the external disk space is located on some Amazon-ec2 machine.     Hi all, My question pretty much says it all: I'm looking for a way to display Amazon Marketplace listings based on an item lookup. Example: If I do a call to ItemLookup with an ASIN of 0590353403 (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone), I'm looking for a result set of perhaps the top ten new or used Marketplace listings, preferably with seller information attached. I apologize if this is clearly documented somewhere, but I have been looking all through the Amazon API docs and on Google to no avail. StackOverflow doesn't seem to have any Related Questions that match what I'm asking, either. Thanks in advance!

  • Why isn't a JS file hosted on Amazon S3 getting cached by the browser?

    I have a JS file hosted on Amazon S3 (http://s3.amazonaws.com/wingify/vis_opt.js). I want the file to be cached on users' browsers so that they don't have to download it with every page view. However, in spite of setting Cache Control header I don't think it is getting cached. Browser still contacts Amazon Server with every pageview. Here is the example of page where this script is embedded: http://myjugaad.in/ If you have Firebug, you will be able to see that browser requests it with every pageview. What can I do so that the file gets permanently cached? Thanks for help.

  • Cannot upload files bigger than 8GB to Amazon S3 by multi-part upload due to broken pipe

    I implemented S3 multi-part upload, both high level and low level version, based on the sample code from http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/AmazonS3/latest/dev/index.html?HLuploadFileJava.html and http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/AmazonS3/latest/dev/index.html?llJavaUploadFile.html When I uploaded files of size less than 4 GB, the upload processes completed without any problem. When I uploaded a file of size 13 GB, the code started to show IO exception, broken pipes. After retries, it still failed. Here is the way to repeat the scenario. Take 1.1.7.1 release, create a new bucket in US standard region create a large EC2 instance as the client to upload file create a file of 13GB in size on the EC2 instance. run the sample code on either one of the high-level or low-level API S3 documentation pages from the EC2 instance test either one of the three part size: default part size (5 MB) or set the part size to 100,000,000 or 200,000,000 bytes. So far the problem shows up consistently. I attached here a tcpdump file for you to compare. In there, the host on the S3 side kept resetting the socket.

  • Any need to make backup of data on Amazon S3?

    I'm hosting 200 GB of product images at S3 (this is my primary file host). Do I need to back that data up somewhere else, or is S3 safe as it is? I have been experimenting with mounting the S3 bucket to a EC2 instance, and then making a nightly rsync backup. The problem is that it's about 3 million files, so it takes a while to generate the different rsync needs. The backup actually takes about 3 days to complete. Any ideas how to do this better? (if it's even necessary?)

    I have an app that's accessible via 1.2.3.4/myapp. The app is installed in /var/www/myapp. I've set up a subdomain(apps.mydomain.com) that points to 1.2.3.4. I want the server to point to var/www/myapp if I type apps.mydomain.com/myapp, how do I do that? I have experience creating virtual hosts(lots of them) locally but I'm lost because it's now in production and it's a little different.     When you move your application from Development to Production, there is more often then not, a need to change the web service endpoint URL in your ADF application. If you are using a Web Service Data Control(WSDC), you can do this in more than one ways. The following example illustrates how this can be done.At Design TimeIf the application workspace is in your control, you can quickly do this by updating the definition in DataControl.dcx file:Along with this, you will also need to change the endpoint in connections.xml. So invoke the Edit Connections dialog: Then, change the endpoint URL.At DeploymentAnother way to change is changing the endpoint at the ear level, at deployment. So when you select Deploy -> Application Server at the Application level, it will bring up a Deployment Configuration dialog, in which you can edit the WSDL URL:Also, change the Port URL:At Post DeploymentIf your need to change this post deployment, you can do it through Oracle Enterprise Manager. But for this, your application needs to be configured with a writable MDS repository. It is recommended you use a Database MDS store during deployment. So have your application configured (by having an entry in adf-config.xml) and server configured (by having a MDS store registered).     With Oracle JDeveloper 11g (11.1.1.4.0) one can now create Web Service Data Control for services which are protected with HTTP Basic Authentication.So when you provide such a service to the Data Control Wizard, a dialog pops up prompting you to entry the authentication details:After you give the details, you can proceed with the creation of Data Control.Once the Data Control is created, you can use the WSDC Tester to quickly test the service.In this case, since the service is protected, we need to first edit the connection to provide username details:Enter the authentication details against username and password. Once done, select DataControl.dcx and using the context menu, select 'Run'. This will bring up the Tester.On the Tester, select the Service Node and using context menu pick 'Operations'. This will bring up the methods which you can test:Now you can pick a method, provide the input parameters and hit execute to see the results.

    With JDeveloper 11gR2 you can now create database based web services using JAX-WS Provider. The key differences between this and the already existing PL/SQL Web Services support is:Based on JAX-WS ProviderSupports SQL Queries for creating Web ServicesSupports Table CRUD OperationsThis is present as a new option in the New Gallery under 'Web Services'When you invoke the New Gallery option, it present you with three options to choose from:In this entry I will explain the options of creating service based on SQL queries and Table CRUD operations.SQL Query based Service When you select this option, on 'Next' page it asks you for the DB Conn details. You can also choose if you want SOAP 1.1 or 1.2 format. For this example, I will proceed with SOAP 1.1, the default option.On the Next page, you can give the SQL query. The wizard support Bind Variables, so you can parametrize your queries. Give "?" as a input parameter you want to give at runtime, and the "Bind Variables" button will get enabled. Here you can specify the name and type of the variable.Finish the wizard. Now you can test your service in Analyzer:See that the bind variable specified comes as a input parameter in the Analyzer Input Form:CRUD OperationsFor this, At Step 2 of Wizard, select the radio button "Generate Table CRUD Service Provider"At the next step, select the DB Connection and the table for which you want to generate the default set of operations:Finish the Wizard. Now, run the service in Analyzer for a quick check.See that all the basic operations are exposed:

    In this blog, I plan to provide you with information about OWSM, Oracle Web services Manager.  I joined Platform Security and OWSM team in Oracle's identity management organization in February, 2010. Before that I had been working on Metro, an open source Web services project,  in Sun's Glassfish organization for 5 years, as one of the architects for security. I am continuing that work here at Oracle OWSM, focusing on developing and evangelizing our enterprise Web services security,  identity and policy management offerings.To start with, I plan to write a series of posts on some of the new features for OWSM in Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g R1 PS3.Thank you all for your interests.
