  • Maven assembly plugin and adding system dependencies to the classpath

    Hi, I have some dependencies which I am providing myself. The jars are in the resources directory. In my pom they are scoped as system and I include the path to them. However, when I jar things up using the assembly plugin and use <addClasspath>true</addClasspath> It doesn't add the path of the system jars. How can I get them to be included automatically? Thanks

  • Translate Java class with static attributes and Annotation to Scala equivalent

    I'm currently trying to "translate" the following Java class to an equivalent Scala class. It's part of a JavaEE6-application and i need it to use the JPA2 MetaModel. import javax.persistence.metamodel.SingularAttribute; import javax.persistence.metamodel.StaticMetamodel; @StaticMetamodel(Person.class) public class Person_ { public static volatile SingularAttribute<Person, String> name; } A dissassembling of the compiled class file reveals the following information for the compiled file: > javap Person_.class : public class model.Person_ extends java.lang.Object{ public static volatile javax.persistence.metamodel.SingularAttribute name; public model.Person_(); } So now i need an equivalent Scala file that has the same structure, as JPA depends on it, cause it resolves the attributes by reflection to make them accessible at runtime. So the main problem i think is that the attribute is static, but the Annotation has to be on an (Java)Object (i guess) My first naive attempt to create a Scala equivalent is the following: @StaticMetamodel(classOf[Person]) class Person_ object Person_ { @volatile var name:SingularAttribute[Person, String] = _; } But the resulting classfile is far away from the Java one, so it doesn't work. When trying to access the attributes at runtime, e.g. "Person_.firstname", it resolves to null, i think JPA can't do the right reflection magic on the compiled classfile (the Java variant resolves to an instance of org.hibernate.ejb.metamodel.SingularAttributeImpl at runtime). > javap Person_.class : public class model.Person_ extends java.lang.Object implements scala.ScalaObject{ public static final void name_$eq(javax.persistence.metamodel.SingularAttribute); public static final javax.persistence.metamodel.SingularAttribute name(); public model.Person_(); } > javap Person_$.class : public final class model.Person__$ extends java.lang.Object implements scala.ScalaObject public static final model.Person__$ MODULE$; public static {}; public javax.persistence.metamodel.SingularAttribute name(); public void name_$eq(javax.persistence.metamodel.SingularAttribute); } So now what i'd like to know is if it's possible at all to create a Scala equivalent of the Java class? It seems to me that it's absolutely not, but maybe there is a workaround or something (except just using Java, but i want my app to be in Scala where possible) Any ideas, anyone? Thanks in advance!

  • Preference values - static without tables using a model with virtual attributes

    Im trying to eliminate two tables from my database. The tables are message_sort_options and per_page_options. These tables basically just have 5 records which are options a user can set as their preference in a preferences table. The preferences table has columns like sort_preferences and per_page_preference which both point to a record in the other two tables containing the options. How can i set up the models with virtual attributes and fixed values for the options - eliminating table lookups every time the preferences are looked up?

    With ASP.NET Webforms, I could drag and drop a control on a form and be able to access its properties: if (number == 0) AddButton.Enabled = false; Although I cannot drag and drop a control on a ASP.NET MVC View template, can I change its attributes? For instance: disable a button in some conditions and be able to enable it if conditions change. Be able to change the text of a button from "Next-" to "Finish" etc.

    Is there any cost/drawback (apart from typing too much) to adorning a class with System.Runtime.Serialization attributes (like [DataContract]) such that it can be used locally as a direct reference to a desktop Client project or as a type for a WCF service? The goal here is to write a data-tier class that can be used in both rich client (WPF) and Web scenarios. My data classes will be in a project that is separate from Client and WCF (*.svc code-behind) code. Is this a valid attempt to reuse code?

  • How to safely store encryption key in a .NET assembly

    In order to prevent somebody from grabbing my data easily, I cache data from my service as encrypted files (copy protection, basically). However, in order to do this, I must store the encryption key within the .NET assembly so it is able to encrypt and decrypt these files. Being aware of tools like Red Gate's .NET Reflector which can pull my key right out, I get a feeling that this is not a very safe way of doing it... are there any best practices to doing this?

    Is there a way to use visual studio's "add assembly reference dialog" (or something similar) in my own application? I need it for dynamic code generation and compilation. This is not simply an OpenFileDialog, since it additionally looks into the GAC and so on, so it will be very complicated to do it on my own, I think. If this is not possible, how can I get a list of all assemblies from the GAC?

EDIT: For clarification, a solution that does not require a hard coded path to the executing assembly would be the most ideal solution. EDIT #2: Is there any way to do this without using reflection?

    I have a public attribute in some class. I want a default value -1 for this attribute without an private variable like _MyAttr(because too many attributes, i won't add them one by one). public int MyAttr { get; set; } [DefaultValueAttribute] is not working for this issue i think.
