  • Using Google Tag Manager to define the page type

    So, I am looking to add a tag that I want to use for A/B testing, however we don't have a page-type URL structure. Fortunately the tool can recognise page type if I pass it by Javascript. <script type="text/javascript"> window.isProductPage = true; </script> I have been told to use the above, I have created the script in Google Tag Manager (GTM), however I now need to know how to make this run on those pages in GTM. I have looked through the code and there are div class that are unique to each page, can I use this as an indication of page type?

    I am attempting to create a custom Adapter for my ListView since each item in the list can have a different view (a link, toggle, or radio group), but when I try to run the Activity that uses the ListView I receive an error and the app stops. The application is targeted for the Android 1.6 platform. My question is how in the hell do I define a default value as per the documentation's description. Here's the code: <%@ attribute name="visible" required="false" type="java.lang.Boolean" %> <c:if test="${visible}"> My Tag Contents Here </c:if> Obviously, this tag won't compile because it's lacking the tag directive and the core library import. My point is that I want the "visible" property to default to TRUE. The "tag attribute is not required," so the "tag handler should provide a default value." I want to provide a default value, so what am I missing? Any help is greatly appreciated.

When the code is executed, it displays the object from the database (as the ItemSource property is set to the object from the database) and not the images. It does not use the template. When I use the static images source it works in the right way I found out that I need to override the PrepareContainerForItemOverride method.But I don't know how to add the template to it.   • RoR custom routing/Method/View problem all methods come back as undefined

    I am playing with custom view and routes. I think that I have everything right but obviously not. Essentially I tried to copy the show method and show.html.erb but for some reason it will not work. It doesn't matter what the variable/method that is called; it occurs at the first one to be displayed. I also have some text i want to put over the background of the image, but the text is aligning next to the button.   • Silverlight 3.0 Custom Cursor in Chart

    Hello All, I'm probably overlooking something that will be obvious when I see the solution, but for now... I am attempting to use a custom cursor inside the chart area of a Toolkit chart. I have created a ControlTemplate for the chart, and a grid to contain the cursors. I show/hide the cursors, and attempt to move the containing Grid, using various Mouse events. The cursor is being displayed at the correct times, but I cannot get it to move to the correct position.   • CommandBinding broken in inner Custom Control when nesting two Custom Controls of the same type.

    I've done a Custom Control in form of a GroupBox but with an extra header which purpose is to hold a button or a stackpanel with buttons at the other side. I've added the a Dependency Property to hold the extra header and I've connected the customized template. Everything works fine until I put one of these controls in another one. Now the wierd stuff begins(at least in my eyes xP), the command binding in the inner control simply isn't set. I tried to use Snoop to gather some data, the see if the inherits is broken and when I clicked on the buttons which isn't doing what I want it to, boom, breakpoint triggered. So in some wierd way the Command isn't set until something that I don't know what it is, happens, which snoops triggers. I've also tried to put the buttons in the regular Header property and that works fine, but not with my own made. I could just switch places with them to make it like I want but now I'm curious to know where the problem lies... Now I wonder, what can I've missed?     When I try to findViewById() on my custom view I keep getting a ClassCastException. I've tried so many things that I'm sure I've botched the code now! To make sure I'm not going insane I stripped down the classes to their bare minimum inorder to find what was wrong. I'm new to android programming and I'm sure I'm missing something basic.   • Very Strange behavior in custom dataGrid

I have a dataGrid with a custom itemRenderer. Everytime I tab at least two times on the dataGrid, the cell below the one I taped gets selected. This doesn't happen if I uncomment the code in the method saveBackDataGridContent()! The second problem is that if the Line is shorter than the entered text, a horizontalScrollBar will get active, although I set setStyle("horizontalScrollPolicy", "off");... Who can solve that one?   • How to infer the type of a derived class in base class?

    I want to create a method that allows me to change arbitrary properties of classes that derive from my base class, the result should look like this: SetPropertyValue("size.height", 50); – where size is a property of my derived class and height is a property of size. I'm almost done with my implementation but there's one final obstacle that I want to solve before moving on, to describe this I will first have to explain my implementation a bit: Properties that can be modified are decorated with an attribute There's a method in my base class that searches for all derived classes and their decorated properties For each property I generate a "property modifier", a class that contains 2 delegates: one to set and one to get the value of the property. Property Modifiers are stored in a dictionary, with the name of the property as key In my base class, there is another dictionary that contains all property-modifier-dictionaries, with the Type of the respective class as key. What the SetPropertyValue method does is this: Get the correct property-modifier-dictionary, using the concrete type of the derived class (<- yet to solve) Get the property modifier of the property to change (e.g. of the property size) Use the get or set delegate to modify the property's value Some example code to clarify further: private static Dictionary<RuntimeTypeHandle, object> EditableTypes; //property-modifier-dictionary protected void SetPropertyValue<T>(EditablePropertyMap<T> map, string property, object value) { var property = map[property]; // get the property modifier property.Set((T)this, value); // use the set delegate (encapsulated in a method) } In the above code, T is the Type of the actual (derived) class. I need this type for the get/set delegates. The problem is how to get the EditablePropertyMap<T> when I don't know what T is. My current (ugly) solution is to pass the map in an overriden virtual method in the derived class: public override void SetPropertyValue(string property, object value) { base.SetPropertyValue((EditablePropertyMap<ExampleType>)EditableTypes[typeof(ExampleType)], property, value); } What this does is: get the correct dictionary containing the property modifiers of this class using the class's type, cast it to the appropiate type and pass it to the SetPropertyValue method. I want to get rid of the SetPropertyValue method in my derived class (since there are a lot of derived classes), but don't know yet how to accomplish that. I cannot just make a virtual GetEditablePropertyMap<T> method because I cannot infer a concrete type for T then. I also cannot acces my dictionary directly with a type and retrieve an EditablePropertyMap<T> from it because I cannot cast to it from object in the base class, since again I do not know T. I found some neat tricks to infere types (e.g. by adding a dummy T parameter), but cannot apply them to my specific problem. I'd highly appreciate any suggestions you may have for me.

  • Custom rails route problem with 2.3.8 and Mongrel

    I have a controller called 'exposures' which I created automatically with the script/generate scaffold call. The scaffold pages work fine. I created a custom action called 'test' in the exposures controller. When I try to call the page (http://127.0.0.1:3000/exposures/test/1) I get a blank, white screen with no text at all in the source. I am using Rails 2.3.8 and mongrel in the development environment.   • Best CMS for review-type sites

    Is there an ideal CMS for making a review site? By review site, I mean like a restaurant review site where you have each entry belonging to different major categories like Cuisine and City. Then users can browse and filter by each or by combination (Chinese Food in Los Angeles, with suggestions of other Chinese restaurants in LA, etc). Furthermore, I'd want it to support other fields like price, parking, kid-friendliness, etc. And to have users be able to filter by those criteria. I've been told that with a combination of custom taxonomies, plug-ins and many clever little queries, that Wordpress 3.x can handle this. But I'm having a heck of a time with it getting into the nitty gritty, and that's where I find the community support is lacking. The sort of stuff you'd think would work in WP, like making one parent category for Cuisine and one for City, don't really work once you get further in and start trying to pull it all together. Then you find these blog posts where people say, "This example shows that one could create a huge movie review site using custom taxonomies..." but when you go and try it you hit all sorts of challenges and oddities that point a big long finger at Wordpress being in fact a blogging platform. The best I came up with was one category for the cuisine and one tag for the city, then I created a couple of custom tag-like taxonomies for the other features. It's quite a mess to try to figure out how to assemble all of that into a natural, intuitive site. I expect a few versions down the road WP will be able to do these sorts of sites out of the box. So I thought I'd take a step back before I run back into the Wordpress fray and find out if maybe there is another platform better suited to this sort of relational content site. Directory scripts in some ways offer many of the features I'm looking for, but I need something more flexible and, hopefully, interactive (comments, reviews). I'm especially looking for feedback from people who've crafted sites like this. Thanks!
