  Hello everyone, When we met with such error message from store procedure, Message 1205, Level 13, State 52, the process Pr_FooV2, Line 9 Services (Process ID 111) and another process is deadlock in the lock | communication buffer resources, and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction. I am wondering whether such messages are stored in log files? I searched log folder of my SQL Server 2008 installation root (in my environment, it is C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Log), but can not find such files. thanks in avdance, George

Under logs folder, in my machine it is C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Log, there are three kinds of files, •ERRORLOG, ERRORLOG.1, ERRORLOG.2 ... ERRORLOG.6; •FDLAUNCHERRORLOG, FDLAUNCHERRORLOG.1, FDLAUNCHERRORLOG.2, ...FDLAUNCHERRORLOG.6; •log_207.trc, log_208.trc, ... My question is what are the differnet function of such log files? And when I use browse function in IIS manager to browse the html file, I met with the following error, any ideas what is wrong? BTW: I am very confused about unauthorized error since I run the worker process under administrator account. From the error message, I am confused why the logon method is anonymous and not using administrator account?   Hello everyone, I am using SharePoint Server 2007 x64 and Windows Server 2008 x64. I have setup a site with template publishing portal. I have grant anonymous access to all the site. My question is, if I create a new page, how to grant permission to anonymous user to access (read permission) the page? I got this confusion because, for the permission setting of a page, a permission is set according to a user name (e.g. read permission for user "foo" of a page). Since anonymous user does not have a related "user name", how could I grant read permission to anonymous user? BTW: I use Windows Forms authentication and Windows NTLM authentication for my sites.   I'm moving to Google Apps and have setup dual-delivery. Everything is fine, but for mail sent internally (from [email protected] to [email protected]), Exchange is not using the send connectors I have pointing to Google's servers. I believe my question is similar to this question: How to force internal email through an smtp connector in exchange 2007 Again, if a user is connected to the Exchange server and tries to send to [email protected] it works just fine, but I cannot seem to force *@mydomain.com to route correctly. This should be a fairly simple, but according to this: google.com/support/forum/p/Google+Apps/thread?tid=30b6ad03baa57289&hl=en (can't post two links due to spam prevention) It does not seem possible. Any ideas?

I have tried that Fn + Right arrow on Mac works as "END" key on Windows -- which makes cursor move to the end of line, for most application like Word for Mac -- I have tried it works.   Hello everyone, I have Windows Server 2003/2008 machine, and I deployed some application on this machine. I want to put this machine in a sandbox environment, which means I want this machine to be able to access only proxy/gateway, its private used SQL Server database server, and I want to avoid network access from this machine to other machines in lab server room. Any easy solutions? BTW: my current environment is, I have a server which runs some Beta software in a Lab server room. It connects internet through proxy/gateway. I find if a user is in /etc/sudoers file, then if the user run command with sudo, the user will run this command with root privilege (without knowing root password, the user runs sudo only need to input the user's own password in order to run a command with sudo). In the network setting, I can set the network adaptor of guest OS to one of my physical network adaptors of my host OS (I have tested that it works for guest OS to use the physical network adaptor of host OS to access external network). But in this way, 1. since both host OS and guest OS will use the same physical network adaptor, will there be any conflicts (e.g. same H/W serves two OS)? 2. will guest OS share a part of network bandwidth of the host OS of the physical network adaptor? 3. The code would need to trigger on emails sent to a specific domain, connect to a database, check for an email related to the email sent, and Carbon-copy that email to the related email.   We have a Cisco PIX 515 firewall and I would like to set up a simple logging that would give us a traffic breakdown for billing by: source destination protocol port size time PIX is plugged into Catalyst 2970 and I was told that the best thing since sliced bread for logging is to get Netflow and get Catalyst to log. My concern, however, (besides the Netflow cost) is that I really don't want to "listen" to the internal noise and all I'm interested in are the external traffic stats above for billing and analysis purposes. • cannot add a user to sysadmin role in SQL Server

  Hello everyone, I am using SQL Server 2008 Management Studio. The current logon account belongs to machine local administrator group. I am using Windows Integrated Security mode in SQL Server 2008. My issue is, after log into SQL Server Management Studio, I select my login name under Security/Logins, then select Server Roles Tab, then select the last item -- sysadmin to make myself belong to this group/role, but it says I do not have enough permission. Any ideas what is wrong? I think local administrator should be able to do anything. :-) thanks in advance, George
